So glad they added this. I remember someone brought this up awhile back on the /r/iRacing subreddit and they were basically just criticized for "not being a real sim racer". This is going to be such a good addition to the game, and I'm glad that some tryhards will seethe over this.
That's so dumb. The biggest reason people use sims for training is convenience. That's like saying sims should include driving to the track, unloading the car, setting up in the paddock, waiting for your practice session to start, etc.
This will be highly beneficial for me on some of the tracks where my pace isn't great because I'm messing up a corner (Texas 1-2 for example). Looking forward to implementing it in my practice.
OK, so, your last scenario two tires... Run 35 laps - come in change two tires... Now when you set the reset it has old on left and new on right and every reset goes back to current car state; correct?
@@DJYeeJay this can’t be that easy! Lol I went online and looked and didn’t see anything. I even asked in a truck race and everyone said it was third party. Duh! Awesome, thanks 🙏🏻
The qualify trick is not going to be possible. The active reset feature is only possible in SOLO OFFLINE sessions. I'm not even sure this will be possible against AI.
@@DJYeeJay Ah i see, yeah that makes sense. Having the tyres on the best conditions while practicing a qualy run is a good way to save time. Overall I'm really happy they implemented this feature. For those that don't have much sink practicing, this will save a huge amount of time. Nice video BTW 👍
I feel like all this will do encourage over driving. Focus on car control if you cant restart. I'm sorry but I dont think anyone who vant control thier car on restarts should be going for the win.
Furthermore, it’s unrealistic to be able to load into a game and race without unloading your car, driving it to the track, waiting for your turn, waiting for your crew to set up, etc. If you want real life conditions, race in real life. This is a game.
Okay, buddy, check your f****** volume levels before uploading. The little beats in there in about a few minutes in when you were demonstrating the reset points, we're so f****** loud. Like it was literally about 3 to 5 times louder than the rest of the video. You nearly blew out my f****** eardrums, my ears are still goddamn ringing from that. Be freaking careful.
@@DJYeeJay im really sorry that i was so mad when i wrote this comment. It seriosuly hurt my ears so much, and i have sensory issues which im assuming made it even worse. But thank you for being understanding.
This is really dumb. It would be a good idea if it were just for practice sessions to learn a track. The way you are using it is super cheesy and unrealistic. You should only get the same amount of laps as everyone else. You really shouldn't be allowed to return to the pits and go back out for qualifying in the first place.
@@jackmakackov7077 pretty sure he meant you can practice Q runs, not try multiple times to get a better time during an official Q. smh. Regardless of what he said, if you read the release notes about this feature, it said, in part, "Active Reset allows a driver in a solo offline session..." So, nothing for you to worry about. 🙂🏁
Go play something else then. Obviously this one feature completely ruins the simulation aspect of the game… I can’t believe they’d add something that racing simulators (used by pro racers) already have! (This is only for offline, solo races) So cheesy!!! You are a certified clown.

Absolutely great tips for active reset, especially the "lap saving" for a fuel run in case of a mistake. Well done!

Seeing this in action put into perspective how useful this will be, holy crap. This is going to come, so in handy for next year.
I was thinking of this last week, I was remembering Gran turismo licence where you do section of a lap at a time... I will use this for sure
One scenerio I fully expected to see on the list is pit road entry
That's a good one!
This will be great for tracks like iowa, milwaukee, new hampshire, and old atlanta , as i normally race indy fixed!

It goes back to whatever state the car is in when the reset point was set. The only thing that doesn't change is time of day I believe
What is that new “smoothing” setting used for exactly?
Is your digital dash readout an iracing thing or third party?
Just press "d" incar

One of the best updates in a while, now for the license system...
Yeah, remove fast tracking again? 😏
Spoken audio was a bit light in that first demo.
My mic bumped itself down 10% before recording and I didn’t notice til after. Decided to salvage instead of recording everything again
A note for future videos lower the car engine sound and raise your voice
This is going to help so much on tracks that are lap 2 qual!
Love this featutre
This is a great tool for eSports grinders tryharders, but i don't like playing a sim like that... Cos it should sim, actually 😬

Sorry if I was unclear i meant more qualifying attempts while practicing over a given time

Where’s the realism? I thought it was a simulation not an egame!
It’s realistic. It’s a simulator, not real life.

just dumb putting arcade stuff into sims. to stickit on ovals, just hilarious
