After 40 years the battery holder plastic screw slot fails making it difficult to get batteries in, need to sort mine out hence this late comment as that is today's project. Take care using setting lock on front, position before self timer as leaving it on drains battery. Your problem mechanically is the power winder connection, now that is a real accessory. Hope you have discovered Kentmere and Foma film as cheaper than Ilford, although Kentmere is made by Ilford. It is a poor man's Contax, obviously the FX D is a Contax minus a few fancy features. Great camera.
Hey man nice guide you’ve got there but some things I could give you is you gotta explain or get onto some details cause there are some things you’ve got doing that we don’t really understand, I kinda recommend you edit it a bit with a white font and color so that we could understand, editing the texts and intros of it might take a while but I promise you it’s worth it! hopefully you achieve your goals soon.
highily doubt that he managed to get any shots on the film as it had been repeatedly exposed to the intense light on his desk.. that's like the most important rule about film photography; once you put a film do not open unless you've finished the roll or it'll be ruined !
please help! My FX-D Quarts film advance lever is struck. I don't know how to fix it and I would really appreciate if you could comment o. This and tell me step by step. Thanks
Hi, I this model with the exactly same problem. I changed the battery but I can’t fix the mechanic problem, could you tell me more specific what did you do?
yeah no trouble to the winder bottom has 2 noches in it if you wiggle them it un sticks the mechanism and disengages the safety. to avoid the issue i put abit of wd40 on it.
this is actually an issue i have ran into with this camera. i took it to a camera shop near me they had some tools to help and you can use spare parts form other cameras when off. its basically just a rubber plug

What film does a yashica require? I just bought one yesterday and I know nothing of a camera like that .
It's a 35mm film camera! (At least this Yashica camera in particular)
Hi Josh, any idea how to open the battery cover if the thread is completely gone?

maybe after cock it,try don't push the lever all the way in. some older camera use it as a safety, to prevent from accidental shot
Yes that fixed it. and greasing it up let the safety come in aswell. cheers man.
yours camera its works ?:D
