In this video I turn an arc lighter into a glove mounted lighter. By wearing this device, I am able to burn anything I squeeze in between my index finger and thumb, by zaping it with a bolt of electricity. +JLaservideo Sorry to reply again but may I know what type of air soft gun you used? It seemed fully automatic but was the size of a small pistol. I'm making my own pair of special gloves. One side will be the air soft gun and the other will be the flash paper shooter. I was hoping to start the build soon but I can't seem to find the perfect air soft gun to fit and not stick out that much. Thanks! And keep up the good work!

+Maddux Hinson you would need higher voltage, so basically I putting more power into the device, however that would probably burn it out :P ... You can make other high voltage power supplies though for it ( I have ) you just need a lot of insulation so you don't shock yourself

Maybe if you found a way to make it so there's more power going through it you could actually get it to be able to shoot a beam with your fingers further apart. Find something to do so it can do that, but either way that's pretty cool

I think I would have mounted the switch to the side of your index finger so you can push it with your thumb, and the two wires or emitters between your first two fingers like you first suggested, but it still looked cool and it worked

yeah but the draw back is you wouold need to find a way to power it decritely and if you used a high current you coiuod hgurt yourself to the way it to make high voltage with low current which id how a oven works

I believe one design improvement might be to make the switch on the bottom of the palm like under the thumb, so when you close your other three fingers to "pinch" your pointer and thumb together , it's slightly more comfortable
what you want is a much more powerful battery, have it going into a sleeve to keep it tidy. sorry if you suggested this in the video i had to watch it muted (lifes problems)

In theory, and please any smarter people, or electricians out there tell me if I'm wrong, but in theory if you added a larger battery and a different voltage output could you make the arc beam larger, or stronger, and also could you technically add more of the arc things on more fingers to make even more sparks?

it seems to have lost a but of power to the ignition for the flames. im wondering if maybe you wrapped the cord around the thumb of the glove and fliped it it might have that cross of plasma that has the power in the middle of it

I'd probably create some electro-magnetic interference so the arc travels further and out, I'd also add a battery pack as well. Maybe a stronger charge would arc it further.

This was a proto type, as in, the first one, as in, its not supposed to be perfect.
It seems you have to keep your fingers extremely close for this to be even remotely practical. Would an increase in the power output be necessary in order for the arc to be able to travel farther (i.e. so you can hold your fingers farther apart)?
I want to build this but I'm seeking a gap of at least 1-2" between the fingers. Any experienced folks willing to chime in here on how I could do this?
