Well done, Miguel. XRP is by far the easiest to transfer and trade between Bitstamp-GateHub-Kraken.

Informative interview. I need to do some research on XRP. They gotta resolve the liquidity issue. Maybe everything is cool but makes for bad optics.

Maybe I've got this all wrong, but it's like there's Ripple the company and then there's XRP the "token". The only relationship between these two is that Ripple the company presumably maintains the code that runs the centralised Ripple network and it's funded via their pre-mine and incoming fiat into their token. This token does not grant any shares or ownership of Ripple itself to investors in the XRP token and therefore technically isn't connected to the performance of the company Ripple or any revelations it makes with regards to banking contracts or other third-parties that may or may not use the XRP token or an offshoot of a Ripple-based network disconnected from the XRP token. Would this summary be fair?

      Wrong. Xrp is decentralized

RIPPLE should approach WME-IMG's new baby - the UFC, and become their main advertiser. the UFC represents the purest form of sport, and is still a new company that's had constant growth as is RIPPLE as an upcoming financial entity.
the UFC was just purchased for $4.3 billion dollars, RIPPLE would gain massive exposure partnering with them.

If Ripple announce an escrow lock up of their XRP, price will go up very quickly.

    EpiCenter People...
You were not prepared for this interview.
I usually enjoy your interviews but while you were driving the interview, you were not driving towards this chap's job definition... and those of the stakeholders.

This is a terrible interview guys... I have struggled thru the first 30 minutes and have yet to hear a single point of interest with regard to what this chap was hired for... Head of XRP Markets. The chap claims to have come from CME Trading and Markets. So where is the discussion about how XRP will change global markets? There was a small mention about Uber like high volume, low value at the 15 minute mark.

Thanks for the feedback Max. I totally get where you're coming from and agree that we didn't succeed in getting to a point of deep insight about how markets work or how he is creating XRP markets.

    • @maxentropy7596

Brian F Crain - Don't get me wrong, I like what you guys do. I have been fussing at length over at HTTPS://www.xrpchat.com. Interviews need a great deal of preparation to get it well enough done. The Ripple guys should have driven you, the interviewers, to achieve Ripple's objectives. They did not. Boldly, the chap (Miguel) was woefully ill prepared. At this level in the organization they/he should be driving the message. He was letting you guys do driving. With regard to your questions, I think the 'markets' for virtual currencies now is more interesting than the 'use cases'. Most everyone knows there is a use case, but how to pull money globally or regionally is the interesting part. How to get in to the market and how to get out... not that easy. In fact, it is bloody difficult and only those who are prepared to deal with technology can participate. This is one of the reasons, I was interested in XRP Markets.
Relatedly, I wonder if we are seeing what Catherine Austin-Fits refers to a break away civilization. I think this refers to technology vs everything else. I don't think this is a good outcome but it appears to be taking place. I talk to senior people in the Telco space, and they really do not understand either Blockchain, IPFS, or cryptography. I had thought that 'they' the Telco's would respond to be dis-intermediates, but now I think they will have their voice/data/IoT traffic re-engineered by the peers to peer people.
      Best regards, Max Entropy

Interesting discussion. As was pointed out there, we have actually done two other episodes on Ripple (and Interledger) that were more technical and might be interesting for you:
