I’ve honest had nothing but fantastic luck with Predator generators. I’m a fleet manager for a large concrete contractor and we have probably 20 of the non inverter predators bolted to trucks. Most of them have been mounted to their respective truck for 6 or 7 years and we’ve never had a single issue with any of them. We’re good about changing the oil on them 2 or 3 times a year, and with that they’ve been very reliable and quiet generators.
We have used the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
Been running this on the jobsite for 6 months. Just change the oil once a week. I can change the oil completely in just a few minutes. Never had a problem, just the start switch which was a few dollars on amazon, and 15 minutes to replace. Runs like a champ. I typically am an onan or honda guy.
Inside Track Member and used my 20% discount and got the 9500 for $1900. Just had a 30 amp inlet box with lockout switch at the panel installed. The 9500 runs our entire house without a hiccup. Best investment we’ve made.
Great video and very informative. Just picked up a Predator 9500 and will be sure to test all the outputs once I find a few minutes to put some gas & oil in it and crank'r up. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Just got the 9500 today and when weekend gets here I will start setting it up. Sorry that yours has issues with USB and 12 volt. Now you got me wondering how this one is going to work out. All other reviews and videos I’ve watched they seem to have good service with them. I will definitely give my review after setup. Thanks again for the video! You did a superb job on video and your explanation.
I said I was going to do a follow up on my last comment. Honestly I haven’t got to use it as far as powering the home as a backup mainly for furnace and a few lights. I do know it’s ready to go. Always starts good! easy operation, very, very quite! Which is a plus. I know in my mind it’s a great feeling to know Incase power goes out. We are ready. The 9500 generator is quite impressive, Harbor Freight did a great job packing. It was in excellent condition.
I don’t have any experience with the generators but I have bought many of the small engines from Harbor Freight and have had fairly good luck with them.
There's alot of people who buy predator generators/inverters that buy the extended 2 year warranty, use it for 2 years and drain the fluids and return it and actually get a newer (comparable) model and the employee's don't really ask questions other than if the oil and gas was drained and is it in the original box
So they are committing fraud, and yes that is exactly what they are doing and that is also why the one time 2 year replacement contract costs $749.99 plus tax because of people doing just what you described.
I have purchased new two of the 3500 Watt inverter generators. I have owned two of the 9500 Watt inverter generators and also two of the 5500 Watt inverter. All have worked flawlessly. I have zero need for a USB or DC output on these generators so I never use those features. I think the one out of three generators is good is a little high.
They are a very good generator. My girlfriend bought mine literally 5 years ago. Its a 8750 watt generator. Ive had a bunch of things over the years and few times fixed but nothing major. I replaced the carb once. The muffler was painted last year but blew a hole in it so i replaced it today. Or am about to. Nice new muffler came in from ebay and looks great. All in all ive hammered this generator. Used it in Massachusetts in my field to power my hut in freezing temps running a 240 v shop heater on full blast for 10 hours each day. It eats gas about 5 gallons a day and a half or day. But not too bad without a constant heavy load i can get 2-3 days out of it. I love it. But it is noisy and I’ve upgraded my garage, now and i run my landscape business and it powers my heater, powers my multi process titanium hf welder. My 60 gallon husky air compressor and works amazing. Just looking to upgrade to the inverter for noise reduction. I built a fancy generator box to store it in and looking to sound proof that as well. Great video though!
Just like anything man made, it COULD have problems. As you don't often use 12v, I wouldn't return it. But, IF YOU THINK YOU COULD use 12v, get a new one, now. I hope the 2nd one works for you!!! Great review. I have a DuraStar dual fuel generator. Have had it 6 years, runs great. I run the house off it when the power goes out. I also run propane on it 90% of the time. Haven't had any winter issues with it, yet. Knock on wood. Thanks for your review!!! Till next one!!!
While it's an absolute pain, I'd return it. If it's already broken out of the box, maybe the parts that are working are held together by duct tape! Why wait until after the warranty for the 120V outlets to stop working too? It's a $2K+ generator. Too much money for that not to be working.
Sorry that you had a dud. Thank you for the review that sucks that you have to haul that thing back. Enjoy your knowledge you impart on this channel...gracias!
I have the 3500 invertor. I grabbed it off the clearance table for $275 about 3 years ago. It now has almost 300 hours on it and has been ok, i do have to clean the spark arrestor a lot and the auto choke cable came loose once.
Watch this video regarding the spark arrestor, might help you ua-cam.com/video/E90pufv53pM/v-deo.html or search for HOW TO GET 55-70% INCREASED PERFORMANCE. HARBOR FREIGHT PREDATOR 3500 INVERTER GENERATOR
I have the predator 3500 W inverter, owned it for about two years now, it runs really well. The power coming out is perfect. My only concern is it shakes a bit when it runs, doesn't vibrate like an electric razor, but it shakes, concerned about the electronics going to hell with all that shaking. Also had to replace the fuel valve, it didn't leak, but it bypassed it didn't totally shut the fuel off.
I have a 9500 that is about 4 years old, limited use only for power outages ( hurricanes ). Used it for Hurricane Milton for about 2 days straight. When first starting it after the storm, the CO2 sensor went bad and I had to bypass it. Many Utube videos with different ways to bypass, and it ran fine once done.
Great video. My experience is only based on co-workers experiences, but they haven’t been good with the 3500W and the 9500W. Both of them had issues out of the box and returned them. The 9500W version had a burning smell that ended up being a damaged wiring harness from poor assembly workmanship. The 3500 died after less then 100 hours with a constant overload issue. They were both under the 90 days and both got they’re money back. I’m not sold on anything predator powered. I’ll stick with my Honda’s. “There is nothing more expensive…then cheap”. Hope this works out for you.
I agree with you 100%. You always get what you pay for I have Briggs and also Honda generators and they have been phenomenal so many people goes cheap on this Chinese stuff and you get what you pay for always go for quality brings andHonda is the best out there
Every mfg has a few slip through with issues. I am opposite of you. I have had several hondas and other than really expensive, not a single one has stood up to time or as far as that goes predators. I do not have the 9500 but know many that do and have been running them non stop for over two years. Predator has an extended warranty that lets you bring it back beat to hell one year and 364 days after you buy and you get a brand new one to replace it for zero dollars. Lets see honda do that warranty. What I DO HAVE is the 5000 and 3500. three of each. all have been champs and zero issues. When I do see someone with a problem more than 80 percent of the time it was damaged because of owner stupidity, not the workmanship of the generator. You will find that predator and honda are the same assembly line in china and are almost identical in many areas. SO you go on and keep spending 6000 on a comparable generator and I will spend 1/4th and Be a happy boy. Harbor freight of a decade and more back is not the same place as it was. I have two 5000's in tandem and they run one of my houses perfectly and without a flaw. I do have a duromax 13000 for my main house and it too runs like a champ and I have over 1`400 hours on it.-, however it is not a inverter, it is however able to keep the electricity coming out of it at less than 5 percent distortion and your honda can not match that. THAT ONE WAS ON SALE FOR 690. The predators are all over 1500 hours and one 3500 is over 4200 hours. I had to replace a pull rope and two batteries in the last few years. Harbor freight gave me one as a replacement , As for my honda experiences, 5 machines, all over 5000 watts running power and not a single one made it to 800 hours run time... Not impressed at all.
Before you decide to keep it you should check and see if the battery is charging. I would think the starter battery is a 12 Volt battery and runs the 12 Volt system?
Ours is a everyday runner for a food truck. We've had it for only 1 week and I've noticed 2 problems: The most critical one is a CO buildup shutdown. Not sure why this happens because we have it in a slider cage to give it plenty of open air (3-4' from the truck wall) yet it'll still shutdown at the worst time. The second one is when it does shutdown, getting it restarted takes a lot of wait time. I feel like the choke floods the engine really fast or it's fuel metering system is still allowing fuel in right at shutdown. I have to wait a minimum of 15 minutes for the fuel to clear out before restarting. During that shutdown, we have to rely on our lil 3500 to run our AC and cash machine or the microwave (whichever has the priority need) and use our emergency lighting. This is frustrating because we had to take the wheels/axle off to lift it and fit it in the cage. Returning it would be a real hassle for us right now. Anybody experiencing this?
I had the same problem last year right out of the box. I ended up just bypassing the sensor. The sensor was bad. Just put the 2 wires to the sensor together and problem solved. Only thing is you will not have a shutoff if you do have a ventilation problem. You can always order a new sensor if wanted. Good luck.
You are running a business buy a quality generator, stay way from the cheap Harbor freight stuff, you can purchase a quality Yamaha EF6300iSDE inverter generator for $2995 from National Supply with free shipping to you and no tax unless you live in California. Yamaha is well know for their reliability and longevity and the Yamaha comes with a 3 year warranty plus you can purchase a Yamaha Extended Service (YES) contract adding another 3 years to the warranty if you want. Yamaha inverter generators are second to no-one.
I have the 3500 watt quiet one from Harbor Freight. Bought it about 6 months ago to run my RV. It was on sale at a similar price you’ll find now, and the 3 year extended warranty cost me the same as the sale price discount (I took the discount and gave it back them to buy the warranty). I have a few hundred hours on it, and it’s been flawless for my needs. I have to admit, I never even tested the 12 volt output. I don’t need it. I’ll buy chunks of metal (anvil, wrenches, etc.) from Harbor Freight without concern. But I usually buy some level of extended warranty with any electrical thing from HF. I’m not completely comfortable with their quality, and the extended warranty is hassle free at the store.
I haven't gotten mine out of the box yet just bought it a couple days ago November the 29th 2024 and I got a Black Friday sale it was $1,799.00😁 I've been waiting for this sale for a long time 😁 I think this is the cheapest I've ever seen it
I had the oil sensor fail right out of the box. Once I was shown how to bypass that sensor, I have ran the generator for almost 100 hours while boon docking with my camper and the once a month, I run it to keep the fuel from gumming up. HBF's solution... Bring it back for an exchange or refund. Wasn't an option at the time. Once I bypassed that stupid sensor, ran like a champ!
We had non-stop issues with our Predator 9500 -- I really can't warn against them enough. Brand new unit arrived with non-working electric starter, 240V output never worked (only one leg would come up irrespective of switch position), and the spark arrestor would "foul up" every 12 hours or so (known issue). My guess is the smaller Predators sell more widely and are better tested -- the 9500s are complete crapshoots.
You could have bought a Generac 10KW or 12KW standby automatic generator with transfer switch for the same price! I just bought a 7.5KW Generac standby with 50a autotransfer switch for 1900.00 with free truck delivery.
Where I live there are huge restrictions on shed/barns/shops. What are the dimensions of the shop you are pictured in while sitting on the grey table with the generator on the table? It looks like the ideal size for me.
I'm using my neighbors generator and it wants to power off when I move it from choke to run and it says service on the hour meter everything I touch always goes to shit can somebody help me by telling me what to do the neighbor doesn't know nothing about Motors/genaraters what can I try
I read so much about the Predator 3500 losing the Multifunctional Indicating Meter and not being able to get replacement parts. I see for years people have ordered this part and being told (on backorder). I’ve never seen any response that anyone has received this part. What’s you take on this and to get around this?
Great video I am having a little problem with my electric start. Sometimes it works. There is a blinking symbol on the hourmeter indicator. Not sure what that is.
Did you send up returning the generator? If so did they charge 20% restocking fee? I have one and have a few issues was looking at something eles but would hate to pay 20% restocking fee.
I work at harbor freight. If the store near you actually follows the right steps. If you exchange for the same one or upgrade they should waive the restock fee. If you have the 9500 you can’t really upgrade. But the manager should work with you if you exchange for the 8750 and also get the 1 or 2 year warranty
I converted my toaster to 240 volt so it toasts my bread in less than 1/2 the time, but when camping now I'll need a 240 volt generator. Will the predator do this if both 20 amp 120 outlets are combined? BTW, for those interested in doing a toaster conversion, just be aware that the pop-up feature has already put a hole in my ceiling.
There is no extended warranty, it is one time replacement contract so if the generator fails on day 95 and they replace it they have just met the terms of the contract and the contract has been fulfilled, you would have to purchase another 2 year one time replacement contract again to continue that coverage so the price of that generator just went up again.
I have a harbor freight generator predator 5000 used it when once when hurricane Ian hit us in Florida we used it one day ran all the fuel out of it now we have another hurricane 2 years later try to get it running it will not run I have a 2-year warranty on it but during a hurricane a warranty is not worth anything we're not supposed to be getting any power for another 5 days I have to have my brother-in-law try to fix it and hopefully it doesn't ruin the warranty. Hopefully you can get it running God bless everybody else out there that don't have a generator at all how do you have a smaller generator that will keep my refrigerator is going
You don't have a 2 year warranty, what Harbor freight sell you is a 2 year one time replacement contract, so if you are still within the 2 year contract drain all the fluids gas and oil take it back to Harbor Freight and they will give you another new generator to replace it. Now more about that 2 year one time replacement contract if you want to continue that contract on the replacement generator you have to purchase another 2 year one time replacement contract. Example if your generator which Harbor Freight only warranties for 90 days (RED FLAG) and it fails on day 95 they will replace the generator but they will have fulfilled that one time replacement contract if you want to continue it you have to buy another 2 year one time replacement contract on the replacement generator. Again Harbor Freight is not selling you a warranty, they are selling you a one time replacement contract.
Buy a quality Yamaha generator instead, Yamaha is known for their reliability and longevity and Yamaha generators are second to no-ones. You can purchase Yamaha generators from National Supply and they include free shipping to you and no tax unless you live in California. You get what you pay for in life, if you buy cheap products you get cheap products in return, quality cost money, buy once cry once.
Did you ever get this fixed? I'm sure it is something that can be repaired as the 12 volt and USB I don't think run through the inverter unit. I'm guessing a fuse.
My welder is rated for 200 amps but the generator is only rated for 30 amps on the 240 volt doesn’t that mean that my welder couldn’t run its max settings with this generator? I’m not very familiar with wats and amps
The first one I bought, I couldn’t get it to run. The yellow light was blinking on and off. I watched a video and found out. It was the oxygen sensor cut the wires and rerouted them to bypass the sensor. It worked great until I left it in the back of my truck and someone stole it a few years ago.. to day I bought a brand new one predator 9500 tomorrow I gas it up put the oil in there and see what happens if I have to return it🥵. 11/25/24
There's no 50 amp receptical and no options for dual fuel. Which is a very viable option. What if gas prices go sky high or your in a area where a gas station is very far away from your camp ground. most RVers have propane to borrow?
The warranty price made it a no go for me. I work in insurance, and understand pricing. It is a mechanical DIY tool that produces electricity. High fail rate.
Currently 10% off for members and get 10% off with an interest free HF credit card. Can be paid off immediately. ===> 20% off? On my way to HF since my Champion is dying a slow death after 4 years. Re: the 12 volt issue. Did you check to see if the starter battery is getting a charge?
Most China suppliers and increasingly US companies are using their customer base as final quality control. It’s a whole department they don’t need if you are willing to take the item back, they very willingly provide a new one. Much less head count for them. Definitely a trend.
inverter generators oh not needed really just more to go wrong and costs why more to fix . the brushs 10 for 10 dollars off ebay and a extra carburettor is what i keep in stock for mine unit .blows my mind seeing folks doing the inverter thing
Many new electronics require pure sine wave power if you use a modified sign wave it can shorten the life of the products and even cause them fail outright. Our refrigerator uses inverter technology makes it more energy efficient but it requires clean power, the same thing with modern TV's that use computer chips and many other products in your home. Will a non inverter generator power them? Yes but you are no doing those expensive products any favors.
Unless you buy a Honda or Yamaha inverter generator, it is always going to be a roll of the dice as they are all made in China without much quality control. At least you can return it to Harbor Freight. I would cough up the $700 for the two year warranty. Still half the price of the 7000w (but much quieter) Honda.
Yamaha, honda, predator, they're all made in China nowadays. The company decides on the materials and specifications, butt quality control levels at the manufacturing stage is going to depend on the manufacturing plant building it. The term made in China can mean something, or it can mean nothing.
@@reubenj.cogburn8546 Wrong Yamaha manufactures all but one of their generators in Japan, the one they make in china is a smaller generator, but all the rest of Yamaha's inverter generator line up is made in Japan. Honda makes their generators in I think it is four different countries. Harbor Freight is China. I own three Yamaha Inverter generators and all three are made in Japan. an EF3000iS, an EF4500iSE and a EF6300iSDE all three made in Japan.
@mustangecoboosthpp3869 7 models are made in Japan 6 models are made in China My statement still holds true You can find these facts out for yourself as the information is available online.
So I just bought the same generator today from HF…. But it was a refurb….. got it for $1500 because someone else had it and returned it because it wouldn’t start…. HF customer service believes that the customer put bad gas in it…… who knows… I’ve been watching it for like 3 months…I’m taking a chance and I have 5 days to decide if I’m going to keep it…. So I’m going to run this thing all day and tomorrow and the next day after that and I will make my decision from there…. And for those of you that think I’m crazy for doing this, I have a track record for buying discounted items at HF just because someone has returned it…. I own about 7 or 8 chainsaws from HF…. I buy them, clean them up and sometimes even replace the chain… and I’ve had zero problems…. I can’t tell you how many trees I’ve cut down with them….So this is why I’m taking a chance on this… I mean $1500….. that’s hard to beat but we will see……
Update: ran the generator for 8 hours yesterday…. Started it early this morning and I’m letting it run all day…. It started right up is 27 degree weather…….
@@Y_ruba_al I got one today for free, it cranks but doesn’t start, so far I’ve replaced the spark plug, checked the fuses and cleaned out the air filter but still hasn’t started. Any ideas what it could be?
I have the same generator but I got mine for free that tractor supply was doing a giveaway do anything I had to pay for was the shipping and handling $12 00

I love Harbor freight for tools. They are cheap, and if they break or you loose them, you not out much. Last year I needed a new jump pack for the farm. Harbor freight had a sale on one so I took the chace and bought it. Worked the first time I used it, then never had power again. Unfortunately, I didn’t need to use it until after the 30 day warranty, so I was out the purchase price. I will still buy cheap tools there because I’ve never had a issue. But I will never buy anything with a motor or battery from them. It’s too much of a risk, knowing their reputation.
Harbor Freight has no faith in their generators and they show it by only giving a 90 warranty on them. They will offer you a one time replacement contract which can be one year or two years, the current price in 2024 of the 2 year one time replacement contract is $749.99 plus tax. If you purchase the Predator 9500 at the current sales price of $1799.99 plus one time replacement contract $749.99 plus tax $165.73 you have spent $2715.73. You can buy a Yamaha EF6300iSDE for 2995 free shipping, no tax unless you live in California and the Yamaha EF6300iSDE comes with a 3 year warranty. If you pay full price for the Predator $2299.99 plus one time replacement contract $749.99 plus tax $198.25 for a total of $3248.23, that is more than the quality Yamaha EF6300iSDE again that costs you $2995 free shipping no tax unless you live in California from National Supply. Why would you buy a Predator with a 90 day warranty when you can buy a quality Yamaha generator with a 3 year warranty.
⚠️Portable Generator Safety Tips: 1) KEEPING OTHERS SAFE: Please do not allow an unqualified person or your children to operate and service the portable generator. Just because some manuals don’t say that doesn’t mean it’s safe. That is important against the generator safety rules. We also need to be keeping an eye on our children too. You need to make sure that your children are not playing near the portable generator especially when it’s running so they won’t get electrocuted. Generators pose electrical risks and they can be hot during an operation. Please keep your children away from the portable generator at all times. It is important to keep our children safe especially our little ones. Be aware of all the hazards. 2) WHERE TO RUN YOUR GENERATOR: Some people use their portable generators indoors which increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. It’s important to have carbon monoxide detectors if you have a gas generator. Never ever use your generator indoors even if your doors and windows are open and even in the garage is not safe to use a portable generator. Also please never use your generator in your deck or balcony. It is never safe to use your generator indoors and in enclosed areas of your home. Your generator needs to be 15-20 feet away from your house. 3)FIRE SAFETY: Never refuel your generator while it’s running. You need to let your generator cool off before refueling it and before storing your generator. Never overload your generator too. Never ever back feed your generator. You should never plug your generator into a wall outlet. Also never store propane tanks indoors. Please keep flammable things away from the generator as well and please don’t smoke cigarettes near the generator. Having a fire extinguisher next to the generator is also important against the generator safety rules. It’s also not safe to move your generator while it’s running. 4) GENERATOR OPERATION: make sure your hands are dry before touching the generator. Never use your generator in wet conditions. Don’t let your generator get wet. You need a generator tent if you need to use your generator during wet weather. Please don’t wear loose clothes when operating the generator. Turn on your generator before plugging in appliances. Use the right cord for your generator. Please do not use worn out cords. It is always important to follow the safety rules when using a portable generator. Hope this helps. This is just a reminder to make sure generators are used carefully.
Thank you for taking the time to post this. Would it be safe to run one underneath a detached patio cover/gazebo 20 feet away that’s open on all 4 sides?
HAVENT OPEN THE BOX, 9500 , WOULD BE NICE IF YOU MENTION THE OIL, HD? OR JUST 30WT? SYNTHIC OR WHAT? thank you sir. maybe i should read the instructions, men dont need instructions.
unfortunately its 100 percent made in CHINA and we all know that the chinese stuff looks great on the outside but the internals are cheap junk-you get what you pay for!!
I’ve honest had nothing but fantastic luck with Predator generators. I’m a fleet manager for a large concrete contractor and we have probably 20 of the non inverter predators bolted to trucks. You think I could add an extra 10% to that if I used my harbor freight card as my first purchase?
Great video and very informative. Just picked up a Predator 9500 and will be sure to test all the outputs once I find a few minutes to put some gas & oil in it and crank'r up. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Just got the 9500 today and when weekend gets here I will start setting it up. Sorry that yours has issues with USB and 12 volt. Now you got me wondering how this one is going to work out. All other reviews and videos I’ve watched they seem to have good service with them. I will definitely give my review after setup. Thanks again for the video! You did a superb job on video and your explanation.
Thank you!
So what are your thoughts? It's been a month since you posted this.
I said I was going to do a follow up on my last comment. Honestly I haven’t got to use it as far as powering the home as a backup mainly for furnace and a few lights. I do know it’s ready to go. I don’t have any experience with the generators but I have bought many of the small engines from Harbor Freight and have had fairly good luck with them.
I have some 763 issues that I would like to discuss with you if possible
There's alot of people who buy predator generators/inverters that buy the extended 2 year warranty, use it for 2 years and drain the fluids and return it and actually get a newer (comparable) model and the employee's don't really ask questions other than if the oil and gas was drained and is it in the original box
This is why we can't have nice things.
So they are committing fraud, and yes that is exactly what they are doing and that is also why the one time 2 year replacement contract costs $749.99 plus tax because of people doing just what you described.
That free generator ain't free it's just the reast of us that have to pay for it, thanks a holes. @mustangecoboosthpp3869
Had mine for 2 plus yrs and will NEVER buy a Honda. NOTHING but praise for my Predator 9500
If it's sold with the generator it should work, period. If not let them give him a $300 credit.
There is a buss fuse for the 12v function. You have to remove the side panel.
Got mine today will test all functions tommoro
Thanks!
You always get what you pay for I have Briggs and also Honda generators and they have been phenomenal so many people goes cheap on this Chinese stuff and you get what you pay for always go for quality brings andHonda is the best out there
Same Here! Staying with My Honda EU models....
My Honda eu7000is has 2000 hrs still run like new ! MADE IN CHINE never and ever match with MADE IN JAPAN !
@@funnynguyen8821I have the same exact one, saved me the second day I owned it, such a great unit....buy once, cry once.
Harbor freight gave me one as a replacement ,
As for my honda experiences, 5 machines, all over 5000 watts running power and not a single one made it to 800 hours run time... Not impressed at all.
Before you decide to keep it you should check and see if the battery is charging. I would think the starter battery is a 12 Volt battery and runs the 12 Volt system?
Great idea, thanks
Champion has a good name
Just tape the sensor
@@joesorrenti6180 Good luck getting any parts from Harbor Freight for a Predator generator.
Can I ask how you were able the lift the generator onto that table! Much easier to service that way!
The review should comment about how it works for your intended use. The whole reason you bought it. Did it power your welders well?
I haven't gotten mine out of the box yet just bought it a couple days ago November the 29th 2024 and I got a Black Friday sale it was
$1,799.00😁
I've been waiting for this sale for a long time 😁 I think this is the cheapest I've ever seen it
I can’t find you link to the 50 amp hookup parts to run an RV
FYI, the 50 Amp parallel kit is available now.
Take it back! Honda has some of the same issues! All generators have problems! Take it back so they can fix the issues in the future!!
Late night show, and it doesnt wake up my wife with the famous "HEEYYYY EVERYONE BROOM BROOM!!! thanks for the controlled volume
Swap it out
so what happened? can u make a follow up video?
You could have bought a Generac 10KW or 12KW standby automatic generator with transfer switch for the same price! I just bought a 7.5KW Generac standby with 50a autotransfer switch for 1900.00 with free truck delivery.
Where I live there are huge restrictions on shed/barns/shops. What are the dimensions of the shop you are pictured in while sitting on the grey table with the generator on the table? It looks like the ideal size for me.
Check out the solder job on the circuit board
I'm using my neighbors generator and it wants to power off when I move it from choke to run and it says service on the hour meter everything I touch always goes to shit can somebody help me by telling me what to do the neighbor doesn't know nothing about Motors/genaraters what can I try
I read so much about the Predator 3500 losing the Multifunctional Indicating Meter and not being able to get replacement parts. I see for years people have ordered this part and being told (on backorder). I’ve never seen any response that anyone has received this part. What’s you take on this and to get around this?
How does it handle your welder? Does it hesitate or can you switch it to a “full throttle” setting first?
Lol why charge a restock fee for a defective product are they planning on putting it back on the shelf broken 😅😅😅😂😂😂
@@ryontammy They will put it out in the clearance tent for someone else to buy it. Harbor Freight is not the great deal so many think they are.
In my state Arizona we don't have access to non-ethanol fuel propane is way better to have because it doesn't gum up the carburetor.
What is your recommendation in the 9500 watt range??
My 9500 Predator came out of box with a bad carbon monoxide sensor bypassed it and good to go….2 years old 140 hours
just picked up a Predator 9500 today, I think my old no name 5500 watt generator had more power? i am using non ethanol gas
That stinks. Maybe next time test the generator before a hurricane hits. Certainly don’t wait two years. I hope everything worked out.
How much was it on black Friday?
Did you ever get this fixed? I'm sure it is something that can be repaired as the 12 volt and USB I don't think run through the inverter unit. I'm guessing a fuse.
Not yet, I looked for a fuse but couldn't find one, it does have a circuit breaker but its not tripped.
@@tetradgroup nice. Yeah need to check AC volts before the rectifier and CB see if its producing anything.
My welder is rated for 200 amps but the generator is only rated for 30 amps on the 240 volt doesn’t that mean that my welder couldn’t run its max settings with this generator? I’m not very familiar with wats and amps
200 amp is the output of the welder. This generator will easily run that welder.
I Hope things work out for you !! My Own Family Did me in !! They can't Compete they Cheat !! Long live the Bob Cat Bude !! 👍 .
Thank you very much. I will have an update video soon, seems like everything will work out.
Maybe the 12v output only works when the generator is off?
The first one I bought, I couldn’t get it to run. The yellow light was blinking on and off. I watched a video and found out. It was the oxygen sensor cut the wires and rerouted them to bypass the sensor. It worked great until I left it in the back of my truck and someone stole it a few years ago.. to day I bought a brand new one predator 9500 tomorrow I gas it up put the oil in there and see what happens if I have to return it🥵. 11/25/24
0:31 - Isn't this 20 amp, **240V plugs** , not 120V?
They are 20A 120V plugs
I wanted to know who lifted that sucker up on the table.
There's no 50 amp receptical and no options for dual fuel. Which is a very viable option. What if gas prices go sky high or your in a area where a gas station is very far away from your camp ground. most RVers have propane to borrow?
LOL... What ever. What if... what if... what if. What if you stop watching Fox and OAN?
The warranty price made it a no go for me. I work in insurance, and understand pricing. It is a mechanical DIY tool that produces electricity. High fail rate.
I guess for me I'd probably return it for another at least once because if you looked at a Honda or it's equivalent it will be crazy expensive.
Put a load on the 12v like fan. then test it and it will produce.
I give it a F for needing tools to get the side covers off
How about a follow up or at least comment that you didn’t do an exchange or if you did was the new one working
How the heck did you get it up on your workbench? That IS frustrating. Great video though!
Thanks for noticing lol, I used a set of ramps and almost died in the process.
Don’t wait tell stormy and not have time to test run them and prepare folks
Can you power your entire home with this generator?
Did you ground it
Doesn't do anything
Wow that’s bad no 12 Volts in the generator 😩😩😩
Most China suppliers and increasingly US companies are using their customer base as final quality control. It’s a whole department they don’t need if you are willing to take the item back, they very willingly provide a new one. Much less head count for them. Definitely a trend.
I stuck around bro watch you run some 6013 rods
inverter generators oh not needed really just more to go wrong and costs why more to fix . the brushs 10 for 10 dollars off ebay and a extra carburettor is what i keep in stock for mine unit .blows my mind seeing folks doing the inverter thing
Click Bate, It's just another unboxing.

6 models are made in China

You can find these facts out for yourself as the information is available online.
I believe there is a 20% restocking fee if you do not exchange it for another generator. If so that is sad!

1600 hours and rocker arm broke just out of extended warranty.😢
duromax rocks!!
Man if that's the only bad luck you've had, just trade warranty it and move on.
The only predator is my bishop
⚠️Portable Generator Safety Tips:
1) KEEPING OTHERS SAFE: Please do not allow an unqualified person or your children to operate and service the portable generator.
I use conventional 30W small engine oil for break in, after that I may go synthetic.
You broke the cardinal rule for Harbor Freight. If it has moving parts or electronics DONT BUY IT!
I know I know but just couldn't resist the temptation.
Buy a cat gen 12000
unfortunately its 100 percent made in CHINA and we all know that the chinese stuff looks great on the outside but the internals are cheap junk-you get what you pay for!!
you'll have that with Harbor Freight
