Once you get the 2 headed turtle endurance means almost literally nothing at all. I'm rocking a build similar to this and for testing I put my endurance down to the lowest I could on samurai which was just enough to still have me medium load. I went from the beginning of the dlc all the way up to the end with defeating most dlc bosses (only reason I say most is because I didn't know there was a legendary dragon boss therefore I never got the dragon transformation heart thingy) and with that endurance I had absolutely no trouble out of stam. Not once did I ever say I wish I needed more stam or wish I had more dodges or anything. Like the stam bar just went non existence to me because I had 100% absolute faith I would always have stam with the 2 head turtle talisman.
Just gonna let you know electrify armament and Vykes dragon bolt are the exact same except dragonbolt is worse because it’s harder to get and tanks your lightning resist
@@fredrick-jr1qi electrify armament also lasts 90 seconds vs 70 seconds for vykes without the talisman (so 120 seconds vs 93 seconds with the talisman) So yeah other than coolness factor vykes is pointless
vykes dragon bolt is also considered as both body and weapon buff so you can't use another body buff with it. also he said golden vow expires quickly but it lasts more than blood flame blade soo... yeah
The Fire damage from Blood Flame Blade increases with the Faith Scaling of the seal used. This brings the Erdtree Seal to mind since it has the best scaling in Faith, but the Godslayer's Seal for some reason gives an even bigger damage increase. So if all you use it for is buffing your weapon, the Godslayer's Seal is the best. You obviously need to level Faith aswell.
I hadn't done the battle with Millicent's sisters on my currently playthrough, and with the backhand blades it made that fight SOOOOOOOO much easier. I've got this current build ready to switch between Blackhand & Guts Greatsword at any time, and it's incredibly satisfying having that tag team of weapons.

Make sure to use more FTH than what I mentioned. With your High RL you'll want 80+ FTH that scales best with your Seal for Black flame blade and lightning armament. This video was my first of many for Elden Ring and my recommendations for Faith requirements were incorrect.
I think using the bleed affinity is better with the dragon seal because of arcane scaling. My preference is the Erdtree seal because or I believe the faith points strengthen buffs and bloodflame blade.
Erdtree Seal is definitely the way to go. I made this video early and in haste. My later guides mentions the change in seals. Appreciate your comment and insights for others to read 👍

To make it even better i think using electrify armament instead of vyke dragonbolt is better, because it gives the same power and lasts 20 sec more(90 instead of 70). The body enhancement of vyke dragonbolt is only maximum equip load. And with that u can add a body spell of choice. Hopping for more guides like this!!!

I get more damage with these if I use flame art infusion or Holy since I'm a Dex/Faith user, you actually get less damage if you just use Keen to get to S Scaling
@benjaminking6949 its worth it still, having an S Scaling in dex will only get you so far and theres plenty of incantations to increase fire affinity and physical damage
So during my playthrough, I don't ever look up guides - I just play blindly - so I missed Swift Slash and Helped Leda instead. I won't have that "broken" build until my next playthrough.
The weapon buff incantations scale based on faith, so bloodflame or vyke's are useless with 12. You can see the elemental damage numbers on your equipment page. It's also increased by the faith scaling of your seal. I.e. the letter by faith, not the incant scaling.
Yeah I don't watch guides or read about the game on Reddit etc - I play blind (more fun for me) so I knew nothing of Swift Slash at the time of recording this. I also chose to assist Leda and got the other Weapon / Ash of War instead. I can't get that AoW until another playthrough.
The weapon definitely has I-frames. At the start of the consort Radahn fight, when he charges up and then spins quickly towards you, I use the AoW to dodge everything. The shockwave, the initial hit, it dodges everything and there’s no way it can’t unless it has I-frames
@@oxfordking when I'm using it I treat it like a medium load roll that covers more ground and deals good damage as a bonus. It's a very useful tool if a regular roll won't quite do what you need in a specific circumstance
Great Question: The Ash of War and the Affinity share synergy meaning you would need to select an Ash of War first and them the Affinity that Ash of War supports.
Yeah its great just make note that once Frostbite is applied you really have nothing left for that proc unless you add Fire to the enemy which will reset the Frostbite. Personally I like using 2 Scavengers Curved Swords with Cold in one hand and Bleed in the other for 2 Burst Procs. But I like the moveset and the quickness of the Backhand Blades.
I always forget about Vykes spell. The backhand blade and the martial arts are my favorite weapons in the DLC. They are just fun to use. I always loved the Bandits' Curved Swords but they really struggled vs shields, the skill on the backhand blade's poke opens them up to be shredded.
So I wish I played around with the other Lightning Armament before I hit record and spent Hours editing this video... The Lightning Armament is actually the better option - it lasts 20 seconds longer and does the same damage. Not to mention we don't take a hit on Lightning Res. Big miss on my part... BUT the Red Lightning is 100% Cool Factor.
so random question, When you two hand the backhand blade does the two handed talisman from dlc still give a buff or is that only for big weapons like great katana and so on?.

You can't have an affinity on the blades already. If you have it bleed, fire, magic cold or something then you can't buff it. It has to be heavy, keen quality or standard. (Maybe occult. I haven't tried actually)
You most likely have a Weapon Affinity on it that will not allow Incantations. Double check your Weapon Affinity. In this video, I have Keen which allows for Spell Buffs.

This build is viable with all content - this is why I switch between bloodflame blade and Lightning so that you can take on all enemy types in the game. For Furnace Golems you will use the Lightning Armament - this staggers them much quicker.

I killed the final boss using only these weapons. Blinspot is broken against him. Try using it against his opening attack once and you will never look back. It feel so satisfying
You don't really use the skill for attacking as much as dodging and poking so I would use Millicent's Prosthesis or something else to improve the damage of the main attacks or for defense.
@@Zeno3020 since it’s a smithing stone weapon you can basically change the aow with the same aow just go to any grace or smithy and hit aow and click backhand then click the affinity you want

I think just bleed but the weapon art hit hard and faster than i could overpower. Once up close you cant really beat it without outplaying it.
I use almost the exact same build but I use vyke's dragonbolt to lower my equip load so I can light roll while also having decent armor

You'll need to press the two buttons that hold a weapon with two hands. R1 (RB) and whatever button you have assigned to collecting loot.

How is it that when all your stats are added together, you should be level 382 not 303?
Starting Class stats plays a factor - I think this was Samurai starting class but not sure.

Electrify armament is better than Vykes dragonbolt. It has 50% base more duration with the same damage.

I have been using these with a cold affinity. It gets a b in dex and in int. Does frostbite very quickly. What do you think of that?

If you dual wield these, essentially the same as two handing them but with the added benefit of having a cold and a hot blade. Or am I wrong?
It acts as a single weapon so when you cast a buff on it, it gets applied to both blades as it's classified as a pair (one weapon)

The same way you Hold a Weapon with Two Hands - Press the Button you Pick up Items with, Hold it, and then press R1 (RB) or R2 (RT)

It can't use Chilling Mist Ash of War but you can definitely infuse Cold on it for sure. It will proc Frost very quickly.

The Backhand Blade comes as 1 Set rather than two individual weapons. Any Sorcery or Incantations applied will apply to both Blades.

It’s an incantation called blood flame blade
It's an Incantation called Vyke's Dragonbolt (Red Lightning)
The other one I'm using in this video is Blood Flame Blade.
For some reason it won't let me cast the spells even though I do have the requirements. Am I doing something wrong?
You can only put spells on weapon if the weapon is standard heavy keen or quality
