I've read a few comments about goop saying it can be messy to use, so to avoid this I put a small jubilee clip around the hose once it's over the valve tube and just tightened it up a little so I could squeeze the goop in with no mess , simple really!.
Nice instruction, good to share with each other, we all have to be careful with what could cause an accident. I didn't think to clean inside valve, good point!, as I had a very small air leak that I didn't notice from valve by the morning, as there was no air release noise. Checked in the morning the pressure before going out, as it isn't obvious by kicking tyres or other means, use air gauge. Cleaned inside valve, please do the spit test after pumping to pressure, spit from finger to valve, if valve leaks will show a bubble form. After pumping up a sure sign of the tiniest of a leak. Nice one. Check twice, to be able to ride twice.Safe journey.
same boat corroded rims, just took an hour and a half to install. ten minutes on the back, which wasn't too bad, hour and fifteen minutes on the front. right angle on the valve, and couldn't just pour it in like at the back, so kept using a foot pump to stop it resealing. messy job, but a bucket of hot soapy water and some wipes (tescos are cheap & top drawer btw) and it's all good.
Ohh dear, I hadn't thought of a right angle valve - that must have been a real PITA! At least you have it done now! I'll give those Tesco wipes a try, the ks for the tip! Likewise, I use Wilko wipes - the lemon scented ones, so my bike smells fresh, lol 😂🤣🏍🏍
I put GOOP in my new rear tyre today but will have to wait 3 days until i can get out on the bike. Will that be ok to make sure it is spread inside the tyre ok..? Great vid by the way.
