@@solanab yes! A long as they make a good enough seal to keep water out (when swimming) they work to keep the onion gasses out. ... Other tricks that have worked for me (but require prep) are to throw the onion in the freezer for 20-30 min before cutting, or, cut the onion in half, put it in another room for 30-40 min to "air out" and then finish chopping it. (but I often don't have time for those options.)
I’ve been having a lot of health issues which makes it hard to move and eat. My husband is also deployed which makes things more difficult for my 7 year old daughter and I. We have a dishwasher but I’ve found myself completely exhausted after making dinner. It is terrible for the environment but paper plates have been my saving grace for those rough days. Also, I’ve found asking other moms and my mom for easy go to cheap meal ideas. Also freezing leftovers in single serving portions. Black bean tacos are easy to freeze and defrost. :)

hey chef can i ask a related but non related question about using an eggwash. so when you use an egg wash for meat, and you go from flour to egg to something like panko crumbs or coconut flakes, 1) how do you coat the meat with egg without it taking off the flour or falling off in crumbs in the frying pan and 2) every person i know can make chicken where they can get the oil hot without it smoking nor having to check the internal temperature, what can i do so that i can cook chicken like this? thx
mad robin hey there! I find if I’m making a breaded meat freezing helps a ton before frying! Flour, egg, breadcrumbs, BACK IN THE EGG AND BREADCRUMBS. Then freeze for 20-30 minutes and you’ll have a much cleaner fry. As for the oil- I heat my frying oil for chicken at a medium/low heat, after about 20 minutes I dip my finger in water (just a little drop) and flick it at the oil (stand back). If it sizzles and pops it’s ready to go :)
I recommend putting a bowl of water on your counter near when you’re chopping onions bc the onions are looking for a water source so it’ll pull from the bowl of water instead of you’re face

LOL SAME! I had to search up what it was, since I’m not a fan of k-pop..
Hope World is BTS' J-Hope's mixtape. Please give it a listen if you have time :)
I don't even like coconut but that chicken looked dope
same
Those coconut chicken tenders are one of the best recipes from that book!
I feel like if, she cooks more often, she'll be good at it, like if you agree
If she's cooking for herself and friends, they should at least offer to do the dishes for her since she's cooking.
Since when do you let guests clean up? Maybe they could do it together... but...
Maria tu. U seem like a great friend
m a well yeah obviously
What kind of host is that tho
@@ma-rl6ce in our culture the guests help clean up. If they don't, then you should at least be decent enough to not come empty-handed.
you should do “i eat only salad for a week”! and u could also do like pasta, potato salad, etc.
Minimal salads are actually so good for you, if you make them correctly. You can add eggs and chicken, hemp seeds, lots and lots of veggies and even fruits. The possibilities are honestly endless
Fruit salad! Jello Salad! Possibilities are endless!
I legit have a pair of swim goggles in my kitchen drawer for when I have to cut up onions....
Allison Andrew may seem silly but does it work well? I have tried everything else and I still cry
I will definitely look into those thanks!
@@solanab you're welcome! Glad I could help! :)
Me:*watching this normally until a hope world hoodie pops on my screen*
Seeing her Hope World hoodie warms my heart honestly
I’m proud of you sweetie keep up you’re hard work! I see the effort and I think we can all agree we see your progress!
Put the onion under cold water before you cut into it. It stops you from crying
and the knife
Ríe made me buy a great knife for cutting food and worth it
On day 2 she’s wearing the fomo tour shirt... WE STANN
Oof Oof definitely stan
is no one gonna talk about how she likes one direction 😭
No
Ikr❤️🥺
For somebody who _never_ ever cooks, she did pretty good! You go girl! ❤️
This popping back into what UA-cam tells me to watch makes me want to bring out this cookbook and challenge myself to doing a week of dinners
Hope y’all doing better soon
Good for you Lindsay! Hopefully you'll keep it up. And I'm soooo getting the book these recipes are from!
*If only she had one of the Try Guys there to be the John to her Chrissy!* 🍗🍔🌯🍕
So Eugene
Jacob and Diamond they’re literally all taken and Eugene is gay😂 but they could be really good friends though
She learned and even though it was her first time she still did a good job. Idk why people took the time to hate on her even if SHE can afford to use a deliver app to get food she chose not to. If y'all aren't cooking you don't have a right to say who can and can't try to cook.
I didn’t start cooking with raw meat until I was in college, you only go up from there! You should see the recipes I make now and my dishes and baking are always a hit. You got this ❤️
As a private chef I LOVE Lindsay for stepping up and trying to cook, however her knife skills are a little scary. Maybe take a cooking class for the next video to brush up those knife skills and you’ll be on your way in no time 😀
Also! Getting some incense and burning it while chopping onions will help you not tear up! The sulphur neutralizes the enzyme in the onion
@@savannahhachey2897 This could be a game changer, soup season is coming and that means ALL the onions.
JadeYueRyu1 it’s seriously a game changer ! Last weekend I had a wedding order to fill for 200 servings of French onion soup and I would surely have perished had I not had this trick.
hey chef can i ask a related but non related question about using an eggwash. so when you use an egg wash for meat, and you go from flour to egg to something like panko crumbs or coconut flakes, 1) how do you coat the meat with egg without it taking off the flour or falling off in crumbs in the frying pan and 2) every person i know can make chicken where they can get the oil hot without it smoking nor having to check the internal temperature, what can i do so that i can cook chicken like this? thx
mad robin hey there!
Can we talk about Lindsay's hoodie in 11:23 ? It says Hope World.
Where are my fellow ARMYs ?
• Drea mer • hereeee 💜

I love love love the Brie & Peach Grilled Cheese Sammich! I personally omit the onion. SO GOOD! 🤤
But it brings out the flavors in every food practically essential in everything
I made it both with and without the onion. I prefer without.
I recommend putting a bowl of water on your counter near when you’re chopping onions bc the onions are looking for a water source so it’ll pull from the bowl of water instead of you’re face
She's wearing HOPE WORLD WOW HOBI STAN COMING THROUGH YEEEEEEEE
Harini Obla Do you know were she got it from??
RIGHTT I HAVE THAT SHIRT TOO I FREAKED OUT-
oh well were did you get it from because i am obsessed
I want it too. Please tell where.
deema i think etsy or sum
Pro tip: run the onion under cold water. Then your eyes won't water so much!
If you clean as you go it’s not so bad
Girl get some paper plates if u hate washing dishes ...postmates is $50 a meal🤣
If you want to cook chicken tenders or deep fry anything, use one hand to put the flour in use your other hand to put it in the egg it just helps
Really liked this video. Suggestion for the future. Make recipes an hour before you usually would eat your meals so you won't be hangry. :)
Can you do a video on how you got your own apartment in LA?!! I love Chrissy Teigen!!
“but you didnt make it and was just standing there and watching euphoria”
me: Y E S EUPHORIA
Cissy: it's a lil hit or miss-
Me: I guess I never miss huh?
It is kind of hard to see how Lindsay never cooks, but then I realized and appreciated how brave she is to try something new and share it with us. Power to her.
She's wearing a "Hope World" Sweat shirt! 11:36 Hobi would be proud to see youtubers wearing his merch!! ❤
