Another fun video! I'm glad to see you back to posting more frequently. I hope to get to Austin early next year for about a week of poker - maybe I'll get to meet youe.
Super fun session to follow along! Love that you explain your thinking even when you disagree with yourself in retrospect. Looking forward to the next one!
Great vlog and session! Nice to see you play your way out of a hole into the plus side. I didn't see any hands with Caitlin? Good to see you on the stream. Thanks for posting. Good luck and safe travels!!
Already subscribed… but I like your videos and played against you at TCH before even tho you weren’t videoing… but it was kool none the less! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, David! Still finding my footing on the bigger stakes, things haven't progressed as smoothly as I'd like. But time and practice will hopefully help! The giveaway will be a random drawing, good luck. 🙂
Great work from Huggie. You looked super comfortable at these stakes. I remember when you started taking shots at these stakes and were nervous (understandably). Watch out 10/20, huggie is coming!
Thanks, Aaron! I'm definitely more comfortable at some of these games than I was back at the beginning of the year, though I still have _plenty_ of room to grow! 🙂
Great content, haven't seen you in a while. Happy Thanksgiving, I'm a OMC with no family. Going to Resorts World Catskills for a few days to play some poker.
Good comeback. I think the AQo is just a snap fold given the player type and positions. You played well but a bit loose in some spots, but you can’t argue with the results!
Yeah, I'm definitely more of a LAG player, but I try to be selective with my loose raises. I think you're right about the AQ hand, especially with how tight Doug had been on this particular night.
Something about hindsight and 20/20. Poker isn’t an exact science. Just got to move forward and make the best decision you can in the moment I’m enjoying the vids man. Thanks for the content
Great job on this stream, Huggie! You said in your video that you play more hands on streams in the hopes you get invited to more of them. Does that mean you've focused more on post-flop play when you're studying because you'll run into more of those decisions on streams?
Hey, let me clarify my statement a little bit from the video! I don't specifically go out of my way to play more hands for the stream per se, but if I'm a bit more borderline, then I will sometimes consider taking a bad flop for the higher VPIP since it's helpful for the image in that sense. With that being said, I generally take a lot of flops when I can regardless, because I feel like I am better as a post-flop player in terms of figuring out my opponents' hand ranges.
Hey Michael! When I hit my $25k bankroll goal back in April, I was winning 54% of my sessions played, according to Pokerbase. I've since taken a number of shots at higher stakes, played other game variants like PLO, took shots at tourneys, and have deviated in a number of ways where that number is sitting at about 49%. I'm currently playing once per week just because that's all I have time for, though I wish I could play more!
The AQ hand should be an easy fold against the tightest (or one of) players at the table. Don’t give action to anyone who doesn’t give you action. Maybe if you had a pair and could stack him with a set you can call, if you hit an ace he gets away from his hand.
I haven't recently mostly because my poker time is limited at the moment, but there's a big one at the Lodge in mid-December that I'm planning to take a shot at. 🤞🏻
Been watching you for almost a year now. When you first started back at 1/3, did you start with a designated roll separate from living expenses? Also, what advice would you give to help disassociate from the chips being real money? I've just moved to a state that has poker & my first session back my AA got 2-outed by a maniac which has made me snake-bit. I started playing as scared money my next couple of sessions so I've taken a few days off to regroup, study more & rest before I go back for the holiday weekend. My goal is to run up a $10k roll at 1/3 just like you have done the past year or two then use the expenses for fun things with the wife & maybe small house improvements. Fantasy would be to run up a $25k+ roll to become a reg in the deep stacked 2/5. I have steady income, a year's salary saved, no debt except a mortgage & the wife has a full-time job. A decade ago I was able to run up my first $300 buyin to $2k within 5-6 sessions & now that I have responsibilities I still feel like a failure when I lose so the fear of losing is screwing up my play. When I used to play back then, I had no wife & no direction in life so I played a very LAG style that helped me run up huge stacks most sessions. Now that I have a wife & mortgage, even though I have money saved, the mental block & fear of losing is preventing me from doing what I know how to do.

The ace queen hand vs Doug who you labeled as snug I am folding due to he has more that crushes you than I can actually find you bear or even have good equity to be at best a flip against his range. Still I'm a believer of following your feel of the game and if you had some sort of feel then I dont mind the call. Just got to avoid doing this call to much.
