tank Grock not used in lower ranks because in lower ranks it's more likely to get the trash teammates and very hard to kill the enemy when you set and then your teammates just farming :) but exp lane grock has more higher chances of carrying in solo queue 😊
Damn, remember when grock's ult used to deal huge amount of damage that it can literally one shot anyone except tank. The nerf really hits hard, I used to play him often before the nerf came because of the ridiculous damage
It still deals a ridiculous amount of dmg to squishies when you go for a penetration build, besides a combo from 1st skill + ult + dire hit + heptaseas basic attack is about more than enough
I really think it would be nice if the devs added a second phase to grock's wall where you can choose to take it down early for when you mess up your casting..
@@zackzoom8779 and u guys really want grock to get more op.. A freaking tank played on exp lane with full dmg build dealing 2.5k dmg with one skill and his damn ultimate stuns 3 seconds.. and the range. Bro grock need a nerf not a buff -..- People who have 5k points play grock because he is too op
Grock is a good counter pick to franco, kufra and atlas. Having a cc immune means you can check bush easily while casting skill 1. And if atlas, kufra were ever to flicker ult your team, you can always use your ult on the opponent backline to save them.
You're not immune to franco's ult though. It's so annoying, I've died several times trying to wonder why am I being stunned when I'm still holding 1st skill.
grock dmg is very good against heroes like wanwan bcz his high phy defense and burst damage and also his ult flicker is very unpredictable not like atlas and have 1.8 sec stun and he counters js and fanny and any dashless hero with his 2 skills
Agreed, he has faster skill deployment. The only thing that comes to mind why he is unpopular on lower rank because of his weird skill kit. He isn't as straightforward as other tanks and requires a deeper knowledge on how to use his skills (and most common mistake I see is when to use his wall because it can ruin your teammates position also if not used properly). But once you understand his kit more he can be a very effective team fight initiator. (Flash backs to when he is the top pick for all tiers)
He's more like in strategic play, that's why he's popular in higher ranks. Minion blocking was the trick that every DOTA rank player usually do in order to delay laners' farm.
Like Frwydchicken said,Grock is a scaling hero.Even if u go 050 in early game, full build damage Grock can still change the outcome of the game.Have patience when playing him guys
Got removed but the cast speed was buffed and skill 2 now counts as a basic attack so feather of heaven went from solid item to busted core item on silvanna.
i can't forget my game when i built grock burst damage and comeback with teammates who just wanna give up, was literally 35 mins long i even stole two lords and enemies where cheering for me lmao that was so intense but so fun seeing that burst damage pop off
The reason why you stall wave is because if enemy mage/marksman has stronger early than their counterpart it’s safer to have wave aggroed to your side so you don’t get ganked by enemy core or mage. Furthermore, you can recall every 30s since grock clears wave really fast so that your team can play slightly more passive and farm up better. This way you might force enemy to overextend to reach their wave and it’ll be a free Gank.
It's amazing how mythic rank game became M4 after the tournament many players started picking up hero's and playing them from M4 and I love it honestly. Can u do a video abt both harith and lunox in the gold Lane?
Im no Grock user but all these years of playing ranked i encounter some good grock players i think what makes him popular in m4 is because of his ability to check bushes without getting ccd and get bursted down ambush is quite popular in late game so grock is a good pick if your enemy have hard cc Edit: He's also good initiator
I really think Grock is a wonderful pick as a roamer to help his team snowball faster and secure objectives on the early game. As EXP laner he is also very good for push and dealing damage, he is not used by lower ranks because they lack in game knowledge and game sense to use him properly.
It's so hard to use grock in lower rank since his stun aren't so obvious for inexperienced players. Unlike tigreal that and altas that are all so obvious. But for me a second skill and third skill combo of grock is also a best set.
As a Grock main, the reason why he was seldom picked in lower ranks is... 1. People think tanks should be roamers, not Saber, Thamuz or even Julian. 2. Lack of team coordination when played as a tank. 3. People think squishies such as Chou and Zilong are wiser EXP lane choices compared to tanks.
hi, I use grock as main for 2 years now with 2k plus match.. before the ult buff i use him supp/tank sometimes tank ass mix with def item, now i use grock with assassin emblem exp lane or roam tank with supp emblem for movement speed and hybrid Penetration for kill secure. he is a bit squishy early game but give deadly damage if u build damage Penetration properly. my only complain is not many reports about his passive bug, sometimes it didn't trigger instantly after pressed skill 1 when u about to get stun, and skill triggered automatically after stunned duration, thus moonton never addressed this bug to be fixed. his ult can be easily counter by chou first skill, vexana curse skill and her ult , terizla ult and many more.. his passive can be stopped by many heroes such as brody, franco ult, kaja.. the only spell that i mainly use is execute and flicker . my only rule u dont build full tank if u go solo que cuz u will get disappointed by stupid core that can't positions themselves and die first in team fight. spare some damage for ur build 😉
Finally, I've been playing grock a lot and it is amazing Xp (weapon master dmg build no boots ) and roam (same thing but with dire hit) 2/1 defense item (athena shield/radient/blade armor) pretty good I use: BOD BOH MR (if u need, SH if u don't def item or BOD) BOD (again) (Defense item or BOD again)
exactly but i feel like it would lower his skill floor. a buff like that would be really good for sure but i think it just gets rid of the whole positioning the wall properly thing
i just play grock not becus i think he's such a great tank or anything, but becus he is definitively the strongest solo que hero in the entire game. like if you are tired haveing crap teamates or if u are forced to pick tank, just go grock. go semi tank build with dire hit and excute on him and just play like jungle. screw babysitting mm and mages, forget about peeling for your backline. damage grock is the true tank experience
Tank with a damage build is scary LOL. Tigreal MM build, Franco Assassin Build and Johnson Mage build. Squishy heroes are just a blink of an eye to them.
Personally what u really need is a friend with you atleast who listens like duo or trio becuz trusting randoms is what i do and keep losing i was almost global for grock but lost a lot so just kept him in bay for now
most of the time when players use grock in lower tiers they usually equipped it with tanky items which is the wrong way to play him. Because his hp is base on his physical damage attributes the more physical items he build the tankier he gets. Usually I go with the heptaseas first because it greatly complements his first skill, after charging his 1st skill in the bush and casting it against the enemy his damage really hurts plus the passive of heptaseas surely makes ur laning face easier.
AS A TANK USER IN OUR SQUAD AND A CAPTAIN, I USUALLY PICK TANK HEROES THAT CAN HARASS ENEMY JUNGLER AND GIVE VISION TO OUR TEAM.. GROCK IS ONE OF THEM ALONGSIDE WITH HILDA AND HYLOS... I LOVE TANK HEROES SPECIALLY HYLOS.
In lower ranks objective and mecro plays doesn't exist ur team combo will sometimes be full mm 3hypers etc and you just have to carry the whole team 😂 that's why they don't use heroes like grock.
I usually go sprint with grock as I bull doze through enemy teams, they normally underestimate how much dmg his 1st deals and they’re too late to realize once their hp has been halved. Even if I were to die I’d take the dmg dealer with me
When will they just remove his Mana? It's one of the things that annoy me most about him. What exactly is the reasoning behind keeping him as a mana user? He barely has cc
Is the minion block used to give zone advantage to a solo mid lane teammate as Gin said, as well as deny xp to the enemy briefly? What benefits are there? Also i wondered if using Antique Cuirass vs Grock lowers his phys defense in fights?
Now the reason why Grock is not used by the lower ranks because the public players always think Zilong and Chou damage is good in exp lane.. where tanks should go roam
People in low ranks are fools and don’t see the potential in EXP lane Grock, it pisses me off but the stats don’t lie as he has high usage among pro players
