My mother had two of these back in the day, and she loved them! The second one she had was her first vehicle with a backup camera, and it was a godsend for her, especially with her back pain. To this day, she still says that the Murano was the best car she's ever driven!
I have this exact car in red.... got into a nasty wreck in Nov and got it fixed and she still drives perfectly and sounds perfect... I love my little murano... one of the best cars I have owned very spacious as well....
My wife has a 2006 Murano and I have a love/hate relationship with it. The things I love about this vehicle: very smooth highway ride, almost flawless, pretty good gas mileage for a decent sized SUV, plenty of room for drivers and passengers, and great for hauling around luggage, moving boxes, etc. Also the styling is pretty decent for an 11 year old vehicle although I think it looks a bit like a girl's car- not sure why. What I hate about it- Maintenance issues can be a bit ridiculous. At one point the car wouldn't fill up with gas because an issue with the vapor system- required close to $600 to fix the car just to be able to put gas in the vehicle! Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. There were also several other problems that hit around the same time but were covered under warranty. But After like 90,000 the car needed new lower control arm and tie rods. Seems pretty early in the vehicle life to need this. Another issue is that the car just seems very lumbering to drive around in the city. It corners like a semi truck and the passengers and driver tend to slide all over the place on the leather seats when taking turns.
@@GeorgeT0C2P0 Yeah, back when it came out, journalists said it drove like a sports sedan and that it was also very smooth, it had the perfect balance between comfort and sportiveness.

It really sucks. I had a 2007 for a couple of years. Nissan didn't build them to last. A few issues I had: 1. It has these electric motor mounts that stiffen/soften the ride based on, I don't know, engine RPM? They both went out after the car was only three years old. Why? I don't know. 2. The transfer case started leaking like a sieve. $4,000 to replace the seals or get a new one. We got rid of it at that point. 3. sun visors wouldn't stay put and would flop down in your view. 4. The ride sucks! new struts/bushings and still a very harsh ride for what's supposedly a "luxury" CUV. It skipped over bumps instead of hugging the road. 5. The Murano is very slow. Whatever pep the 3.5L engine has is taken away by the awful CVT (continuously variable transmission). The CVTs are supposed to help with efficiency and it is still only like a 17 MPG city car. Muranos are terrible.
