Betsy Ann Ross (also known as Dorothy Jean Ross; stage name "Aggie") was born on June 26, 1926, in Colorado City, Texas. Her birth name was Eva,[18] but she was recorded as Betsy Ann Ross in the 1930 US Census.[19] She used the name and identity of a sister, Dorothy Jean Ross, who had died as a baby. She married Burnice C. (also known as Robert "Bunny") Hightower, an American dancer, in 1947.[20] He has been described as an alcoholic suffering schizophrenia who once beat her so badly that she almost died.[8] They appeared together many times on The Ed Sullivan Show. They divorced in 1957, and she married Hieronymus "Rony" Abagi, with whom she had two daughters. They divorced in 1969, and shortly afterwards she remarried Hightower, who died the following year. In 1976, a Betsy Ross worked as a production assistant in a Broadway dance production,[21] but it is unclear if this is the same person.Dorothy Jean Hightower died in Troup, Texas, on November 21, 1996
    .
Veda Victoria Ross (also known as Eva Vicki Ross; stage name "Maggie") was born on November 8, 1927, in Roscoe, Texas.[22] She later adopted the name Eva from her elder sister's birth name and was known as Eva Vicki. She married ventriloquist Robert Lamouret in Paris in 1950, and had two daughters with him. Lamouret's act included a talking duck puppet dressed in a sailor's outfit, and he also appeared in episodes of the Ed Sullivan Show. On the July 28, 1957, broadcast of What's My Line?, she appeared as a guest. She used the name Eva Lamouret and surprised the panel (but didn't stump them) by revealing that she was a chiropractor. After her husband's death in 1959, Eva Vicki Lamouret married Robert Sherman Hender; they divorced in 1973.[23] She died in Maitland, Florida on May 29, 2002.
Dixie Jewell Ross (also known as Veda Victoria Ross; stage name "Elmira") was born on August 9, 1929, in Loraine, Texas.[24] Using her sister's name Veda Victoria Ross, she married English entertainer Dickie Henderson in London on July 10, 1948;[25] they had a son and a daughter.[26][27][28] Dixie Henderson died aged 33, on her wedding anniversary, July 10, 1963, following an overdose of barbiturates,[29][30] and is buried in Gunnersbury Cemetery, Acton.[31]
After their father's death in 1955, their mother remarried and was known as Veda Matteson; she died, aged 94, in 2000.

"For centuries, the island's symbol has been the so-called "three legs of Mann" (Manx: Tree Cassyn Vannin), a triskelion of three legs conjoined at the thigh. The Manx triskelion, which dates back with certainty to the late 13th century, is of uncertain origin. It has been suggested that its origin lies in Sicily, an island which has been associated with the triskelion since ancient times."(Wikipedia)

The Ross Sisters never got their due, neither in showbiz nor in History. They were the most marvelously talented trio that hardly anyone ever heard of. What a shame for the producers to present The Ross Sisters in this inane skit "solid potato salad," it was a gross miscasting of their talent. Even that farmer introduced them in a demeaning way with that hog call (that suey, suey jibberish).

That type of intro wasn't all uncommon in those days. I think it came out of vaudeville tradition and looks so awful to us now. I'll have to look into the Ross Sisters to see what else is out there, but this was eye opening.

Did the director shoot this in Technicolor in the early forties. Seems glamorous to me?

It was a non pc culture back then. People didn't get Triggered over stupid things like the present times!

Coming out of a Depression and going into a War of Worlds they afforded to shoot hours of footage in triplicate then toned a couple contact prints and work / projection prints are made plus the bulky behemoth camera machine has a blimp encasement that you need a sort of truck to move not to mention the sound scoring and optical mag track burning into the answer print. Takes millions which not a few had at the time

Great performance by these three sisters. It is from the movie musical BROADWAY RHYTHM, 1944. Good movie, with this unforgettable sequence! Never again!

They didn't need the Andrews Sisters copycat song at the beginning, though. The gymnastics would've been more than enough.
