What I like about this video is not only Mr. Wang is a well-trained martial artist, but a man who understood how the kids went through issues from home and other situations. He never judge them before he gets to know them.
This is the kind of teacher i wanna be. I want to be able to help students feel comfortable and better about themselves while also ensuring them that school can be a safe space where everyone gets to be who they want to be without hiding. I wanna be someone that students feel like they can talk to if they need help or if they feel the urge to let out their feelings somewhere, i wanna be that “somewhere”. Imagine being the reason and motivation to why students are able to go to school, it’s such a heartwarming feeling.

I have been a special education teacher for 16 years, seven of which was in behavior units. I wish it was possible to reach all of my students as quickly as Mr. Wang, but that is simply not reality. The lack of trust is so ingrained in some students that you simply can't get through to them and just because you try and make it better for them at school, you can almost never change their situation at home like in this movie. As far as bullies go I have seen admin cower to the bullies angry parents and not give any real consequences to the bully. We do what we can and it is never enough in many cases. I worked with a teacher who was married to a district official. She told me "He comes home so frustrated and says his hands are tied by the state". All any of us can do is try and make the world a better place for the people we come in contact with.
Most teachers have 80-100 students. It is virtually impossible to give that much attention to each one sadly. As a teacher myself, I try to do what I can and as much as I can, but it is never enough.
@@FiticiusJr Multiple classes, but the number of students is almost always at least 20 in most single classes in most public high schools in my experience. It is a *joy* to teach a class as small as the one depicted here because in a class that small, you really can (and really should...something I make a point of doing) get to understand and tailor your lessons for each student.

I feel bad for these four guys because of their troubled past. When I was in my early teens there was an older guy in our school. He started to pick on me a lot and bullied me, but when I fought back, I was the one to blame. Because he gaslighted the teachers and my mom. He was on the local football team, was a school DJ, active member of the local church community, so he was a "golden child" in the school. And I was a teacher's kid, who was just supposed to be pitch perfect, not to fight back, not to swear, etc.

America could bounce back to some amazing years of prosperity if EVERY ONE of our teachers in this country put in as much genuine effort into caring for their students in this country! I grew up through a school system in which only ONE teacher in all of my years of elementary to secondary education actually went out of his way to motivate me during my school years! There were other good ones as well, but they all took a backseat to this ONE and only one who went above and beyond what most ever will to help me out of my slump as a student!
As a 13 year old who suffers from bipolar, severe anxiety and depression, I lost my aunt when I was nine years old and I can't let it go. I always feel guilt and wish I had gone instead. So I've been in and out of school due to trouble and it hasn't been better at home because my parents are always fighting or my dad drinks too much and gets abusive. I had trouble fitting in let alone telling anyone about it until I met my 5th period teacher Mrs Taylor. She saw I was struggling to pass and that I spend most the time sleeping or crying in her class. She always takes me outside the classroom, gives me a hug (which makes me cry so much more.) And comforts me. I once had to be sent to away due to wanting to commit. And I was gone for a week and when I got back my parents didn't really care. It broke my heart. But when I went to school, 5th period Mrs Taylor was filled with joy and she hugged me. She told me she could not stop thinking about me because she was worried. She's been there through the roughest times. And I can't thank her more.
I really, really like this there's a great, great lesson for all the children who have attitudes. I even cry 'cause it looks real & honesty. A great learning for us parents to notify what our children's interests are in their lives & I absolutely love this. Thanks a lot & God be with u all.

Awesome! This shows that there can be teachers out there who care for their students for more than just test scores. Both of my boys have autism and they have had a few teachers and aides who were behind them 100%. Sadly they were few compared to the number they have gone through over the years, but some teachers care and if they don't understand, they try to learn.
I was a teacher, not of kids but grown ups that had a troubled and difficult past that was not their fault . You have to find the key to finding a way to help them . And to find that you have to find their interests .

Great movie; however, teachers have over 100 students. It is not realistic for teachers to go to students' homes and intervene in domestic situations, etc

I love how Mr. Wang took a second to see who started the fight in the cafeteria, unlike the other teacher who was only going to punish Sebastian. Finally a teacher who holds the bully accountable and not just the victim for fighting back!!!

America could bounce back to some amazing years of prosperity if EVERY ONE of our teachers in this country put in as much genuine effort into caring for their students in this country! I grew up through a school system in which only ONE teacher in all of my years of elementary to secondary education actually went out of his way to motivate me during my school years! There were other good ones as well, but they all took a backseat to this ONE and only one who went above and beyond what most ever will to help me out of my slump as a student!

As a 13 year old who suffers from bipolar, severe anxiety and depression, I lost my aunt when I was nine years old and I can't let it go. I always feel guilt and wish I had gone instead. So I've been in and out of school due to trouble and it hasn't been better at home because my parents are always fighting or my dad drinks too much and gets abusive. I had trouble fitting in let alone telling anyone about it until I met my 5th period teacher Mrs Taylor. She saw I was struggling to pass and that I spend most the time sleeping or crying in her class. She always takes me outside the classroom, gives me a hug (which makes me cry so much more.) And comforts me. I once had to be sent to away due to wanting to commit. And I was gone for a week and when I got back my parents didn't really care. It broke my heart. But when I went to school, 5th period Mrs Taylor was filled with joy and she hugged me. She told me she could not stop thinking about me because she was worried. She's been there through the roughest times. And I can't thank her more.

I really, really like this there's a great, great lesson for all the children who have attitudes. I even cry 'cause it looks real & honesty. A great learning for us parents to notify what our children's interests are in their lives & I absolutely love this. Thanks a lot & God be with u all.

Awesome! This shows that there can be teachers out there who care for their students for more than just test scores. Both of my boys have autism and they have had a few teachers and aides who were behind them 100%. Sadly they were few compared to the number they have gone through over the years, but some teachers care and if they don't understand, they try to learn.

I was a teacher, not of kids but grown ups that had a troubled and difficult past that was not their fault . You have to find the key to finding a way to help them . And to find that you have to find their interests .
