I swear to god this is just an amazing lesson. I could do the lower, male version easy, all in chest voice which surprised me a bit as I've previously struggled with the A4. (I use a pitch monitor that tells me when I'm hitting the notes correctly) Then I tried the higher female exercise. I couldn't get the C5. I did the tongue out exercise a few times and saw via the pitch monitor that I was getting the C5. So I tried singing it, copying what Angie did. To my complete shock and delight, I got the top notes easily. I still can't quite believe it. I then did some uglies exercises to back up the tongue out exercises. Those top notes are coming much more easily now and I can even put vibrato on them. Just wow! Thank you Angie.

Love this!!! How exciting, love how you are using the keys to unlock and verifying it on the pitch app!!! So good! 🎉🎉

I'm excited that this worked for you. This gives me hope because I'm a female who has always struggled with chest voice above A4 & now (lately, the last year) I'm noticing that A4 is a struggle. I almost fell over when I could no longer sing A4 . I try & try & then I end up losing my voice & having to cancel gigs. It's so upsetting because losing my range is causing me to lose my repertoire. I'm going to keep trying the tongue out & "uglies". Hopefully I don't go hoarse again.

@xseaangelx great news for you!! That’s what used to happen to me and now I can hit any note!! The reason is the tension in your throat but also the crazy thing a out the voice is it t needs less pressure - less pushing if you start to sing softer during the day - pop your tongue out you’ll start to find the higher notes starting to pop out. Once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to increase volume and range. It’s hard to work out without a coach so if it’s effecting gigs maybe book a call with me in my linktree. 👍 it is a game changer!!

    Really good stuff, I like:
the slide to get to the high note,
    Setting from the high note,
Finding the key that brings your voice alive - using 'transpose' extension with UA-cam on chrome,
What's with the " big breath let all the air out " before doing the high note?
the tongue out suggestion to avoid squeeze thank you I will try this,
ways of using the tongue out and the ugliest......
Your observation about talking all day anchors your voice in chest and learning to speak right during the day by adding resonance unlocks your singing faster that night,
And sing too many or the wrong kind of exercises before singing- yes I have found that sometimes I justcan't sing even though I've spent a lot of time going through my practice
These are such handy things to know for someone who is not a singer but trying to learn
