I agree if you’re paying $700 for that truck it should have top-of-the-line everything it’s 70 more dollars than a 6S armor, Mojave. I was on the fence about the 6S speed controller VXL from Traxxas not anymore. You said it best night and day I just so happens I have a max eight G2 laying around. Maybe I will buy the truck.
looked at both the maxx slash and the mojave 6s @ my LHS couple weeks ago and ended up walking away with the new 4S mojave and I couldn’t be happier. truck is built like a tank and I haven’t babied it by any means. I can’t imagine the 6s or maxx slash being $200 worth more of fun. the mojave handles fantastic.
Traxxas must surely be working on an upto date system both esc +transmitter. I do think it's starting to get to people how much you have to put into an already expensive but granted great rc's
Should we have to buy a rather expensive speed controller for a rather expensive RC right out of the box? Don't get me wrong if you got it like that cool, but from what I have seen and heard you really have to tune and get extra part for it before your first run, and again I want to say, this RC is already a bit expensive.
Yeah, I watched a lot of videos on this, but I'm not impressed. I love your honesty on bulkhead being cracked, watching others beat the crap out of it, and me knowing bulkhead got to be broken because Max had that problem already. But I wished they offered a roller.
Yea I'm in the same boat as most of the rest of you. I'm disappointed in the number of upgrades required for an out of the box RC at traxxas prices. I wish they were cheap like they used to be, the prices have gone up but they were still selling the same brushed 2wd and 4wd slash from 30 years ago. They still refuse to put decent shocks on a 660$CAD slash. The max slash is just over 1000$CAD. It seems like it's decent as it is their newest platform, but it definitely lacks in the handling and tuneability categories. I accept that traxxas doesn't make race platforms or label their vehicles with correct scale, they are a basher company but dang are they expensive for what you get. I wish they would sell unassembled kits for half the price of an rtr so you didn't have to deal with their electronics. I tried pricing out just the pieces i would need to build a roller chassis the way that it should have come from traxxas in the first place and i ended up at a price over the cost of the rtr. That's sad.
If when on the rx green light flashes...the tsm is off for racing...check the manual...I believe holding the set button in the green light will glow steady..tsm will be on
I bought one last week just to give it a shot. I immediately replaced the servo, esc, and motor with the stock setup from my Kraton EXB V2 before i ever even plugged in a battery. It is a fast truck, but the tires really let the truck down off road. Theyre fine onroad, but have zero grip on dirt or even grass. So if youre gonna run the stock tires, stability control is a must. Its a really good truck, but not out of the box. Is it a good value? No. Stock vs stock, either one of the Mojaves is a better truck. But if you have the parts to upgrade it, its a really good rig.
If you converted to 8s on maxx slash. It will be more powerful and the maxx slash will go about 130mph. Same speed is the sledge. I’m getting the max 6 on my 2022 sledge and I’m putting 8s on mine
I wish rollers were more of an option. Especially for traxxas
Its not an extreme basher, its a high speed light jumps off road beast. Bigger tires, a max8 and its great!

I removed the vxl system from my rustler and installed a spectrum 85 amp esc with 3300 kv motor, it’s like a different car now

I think, this is not a good rc car. And much too expensive. It might be stabil, but jumps are difficult.

It is definitely much improved but there just nothing you can do about that parachuting body

All the gyro is built in on a Traxxas receiver. My sledge have it
I have a Maxx Slash. Does the stock system not come with any kind of gyro?
