I have one since 1 week. Tested several times the back track with saved waypoints. Unfortunately the results ( accuracy) are very disappointing. Indicates differences between 26 and 75 meters.
Does it have Ultratrac? If yes, what is the battery life with Ultratrac? What is the time interval in expedition mode for the 1800 hours? And what are the time interval options for the expedition mode? Thanks
Thank you for your questions. No, the eTrex SE does not have Ultratrac like we have on some of our smartwatches. The Expedition mode in the eTrex SE turns off Bluetooth and has 4 options of interval tracking - 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes.
Hello can i use it for sailing? I wanna have a gps where i can pin locations and navigate there later? Or write coordinate and navigate to the location?
Thank you for your question. Yes, you could use it for dropping waypoints and navigating back but you might also want to look at the GPS 73 at the following link. It is one of our marine specific handhelds that has some additional features that might be beneficial to you for sailing. www.garmin.com/p/517154
Thank you very much for the video! I wonder if I can connect this GPS to my Android phone via Bluetooth and use it to position myself in the Google Maps application or other applications that require the internal GPS (for example Oruxmaps). Thanks in advance
Thank you for your question. The 3rd party phone apps typically rely on the phone's ability to provide GPS location. You can, however, use the eTrex SE as the GPS receiver when using the Garmin Explore app on your compatible smartphone. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. The eTrex SE does not have built-in mapping, however you can save waypoints, routes, etc.. You can also pair the eTrex SE with the Garmin Explore App for additional mapping, software updates, trip planning, and so much more. Below is a link to the Garmin Explore App web page so you can see the capabilities you'll have when the eTrex SE is connected. I hope this helps. www.garmin.com/p/614327
is it possible to download routes from other garmin users? is there something like movescount that suunto had, where you can pick routes with distance and altitude without the hussle of going trough third party apps like komoot and all trails? i'm looking to switch from suntoo to another platform because they trew away this feature and now i"m looking for a platform with this comunity feature. if anyone can help please?
Thank you for your question. Yes, there are many position formats supported by our Outdoor products and Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds is one of them. This can be changed in the menu settings by selecting - Settings > System > Position Format.
How precise is the electronic compass ? I am looking for an electronic compass which shows degrees (should be very precise, my sony handy is not so precise).
Thank you for your question. You can set the directional heading on the compass to letters, degrees, or milliradians. If you set the directional heading to Degrees, then change a data field to Bearing, you'll see the Numeric Degrees in the data field on the compass page. I hope this helps.
Also… there is a menu option for calibrating the compass (unlike the iPhone) where you rotate it as instructed in three different directions. It is pretty sensitive (which I assume is good - but also bad in as much as putting say an iPhone earbud near it will disrupt the reading.). It has a very fast response time.
Thank you for your question. Yes, both the eTrex SE and eTrex 10 have transflective, monochrome displays. The eTrex SE, however, has almost double the resolution (240 x 320 pixels) compared to the eTrex 10 (128 x 160 pixels).
Thank you for your question. No, you cannot add maps to the eTrex SE, but you can pair the eTrex SE with the Garmin Explore App on your compatible smartphone for additional mapping and navigation features. Thanks, two questions please: 1. Does it also work with the Garmin Connect app for sync, live tracking and firmware updates? 2. Is it able to record a 100 miles ultra hike? Thanks in advance
Thank you for your questions. 1. Yes, the eTrex SE does connect to Garmin Connect mobile and has access to LiveTrack as well as firmware updates. 2. Assuming you are asking about battery life here - yes, in its default "smart" tracking mode, it should get up to 168 hours on fresh batteries.
@@GarminRetailTraining Thanks a lot, my second question was primarily about the ability to record a single track of i.e. 100 miles length. The intention is to use it on ultra hikes as a backup along with my Fenix 7. TIA
It has internal memory. Also, if you want topo maps, get the eTrex 30. This one is a small, lightweight GPS unit designed to be cheap and have a huge battery life. They were covering a new market segment, that's what they were thinking.
There are plenty of gps out there for that, if you cant use a map and compass. This for me is a great back up in case of those moments you need a check nav.
So so good , i could get it out of the box without needing the jaws of life or explosives, now if i could only find how to turn it on , the user manual was written by ants and for ants
1:44 That blurring out of the phone number though 😂
Se puede cambiar el tipo de coordenadas a UTM?

Can I load GXP tracks for bikepacking?...
Any way to mount it in a garmin mount?...
Thank you for your question. Yes, below is a link for uploading GPX files to the eTrex SE.

What’s the refresh rate overall and with an iOS device? Is the accuracy comparable to Glo 2?
Thank you very much for the video!

@@william-934That will disrupt any compass, though...
May I know if it has the same screen type as eTrex 10, or if it's a Memory-in-pixel display?
