That stupid 2023 sale was a real gateway. I started with a $65 “bargain” Corinne and then spent a massive fortune tracking every single piece of her collection. I can’t even talk about how much it cost to find Corinne’s skis and skates, which were THE hardest things to find from her retired collection. Courtney gets credit for her mix and match collection, but you’re spot on that Corinne’s collection is so so versatile. We are mixing and matching her all the time. I want to throw out a word of encouragement- your knowledge is so top tier and I really hope you’ll make that Pleasant Company book happen. The DK books are cute, but my oldest and I are lamenting the fact that there aren’t more books about the company, buying as a collector, as well as info about rehabbing a doll. The universe needs this book! :)
I think it would be cool to make an entire room like a dollhouse. Like the different rooms will be all around the room and the center of the room is where you turn around. You can make the rooms deep and have stairs in the house, that would be a dream of mine.
I wish AG would make Courtney's mall. Like what they did with the big doll house and then all the accessories to stock the stores and arcade. I'd buy that. I'd make room somewhere!
So fun fact the Isabel’s room poster is actually a very popular poster from American girl, I can’t remember if it’s early 2000s but it’s been around for a long time. Especially during peak agtube days (early 2010s- mid 2010s) they were on the walls in doll rooms (stop motions) , and that a lot of the people posting then were collecting since the 2000s, so they’ve probably had it since. It’s probably not from a set but from the American girl magazines made for the girls, because they used to have mini posters for you dolls in the magazines. It’s so cute that they brought it back because it is soooo nostalgic for me. Also You mentioned how u got Claudie for $25… i want to flex that a few months ago when Evette was on sale for $65 I got her and used my $50 rewards money, so she was only $15! Probably the best steal I’ve gotten at ag. Ps i love your channel so much

This was so fun to watch. Love to hear about how nostalgic the 80s & 90s girlies collections are for you. I was born in late 1995, so my memories of the 90s are basically watching PBS kids lol I have been going back and forth on which doll to buy next from AG, and I’m strongly considering one of the twins! Side note- I feel your struggle about housing a collection when you know you’re moving. I’m currently packing boxes for my cross country move, and I know that I will be in my next place for 2-3 years max 😅 I want to build out a dollhouse, but I don’t want to then move it cross country again in 2 years 😂

As a Gen Xer who was in my late 20s at the start of the millennium, it was interesting to hear the things that you remember from that time. I didn't care at all about Tamagotchi. Also, regarding fashion and items being used later, I think the trends didn't switch as quickly as now. People didn't just throw out their stuff because it was a new decade, especially if your family wasn't rich. The biggest thing I remember in the 80s is how "out" bell-bottom pants and polyester were, but I remember a teacher whose entire wardrobe was still from the 70s. So, there was always a mix.
The paper items do sell. I know for the WellieWishers I had to rebuy some of the maps and napkins because my husband thorough they were garbage and threw them. I wish they would go back where you could order their meet outfits without having to order the whole doll. I have a first edition Addy I got from my best friend. When BeForever came out they let you order just the outfits so I ordered the BF outfit just for her. Another good tip is that I have a wish list of things Myself and daughter want. When they have sales I check those pages.

The name of the candy bar instigated a lawsuit by Babe Ruth. The maker claimed it was named after President Cleveland’s deceased daughter, Ruth. It was first released in 1920. The Velveteen Rabbit (book and plush) in Claudie’s Christmas set is based on the book first published in 1922. Claudie’s rabbit may be based on a Steiff rabbit from 1905-1915.
i just got Claudie’s Bakery (Angelo’s Bakery) , super excited about getting it .. i love the 1920’s look of it the only thing i’m disappointed in .. is her books 😕i have both books & half way into the first book & it just doesn’t keep my attention like all the other AG books the author seems cool.. but her style of writing doesn’t keep my attention

The first book has a repetitive pattern like many primary books (i.e. “brown bear, brown bear, what do you see…?). It did nothing to support an interest or an education for a child’s experience living in Harlem during the Renaissance. It did not provide the history that many earlier historical books provided. It is an introduction that sets a scene. I liked the second book much better. She leaves Harlem to visit family in a Jim Crow world of discrimination and discovers her roots. When I heard about her release, I personally learned more about the Harlem Renaissance. It was an all black community that supported artists/musicians/singers in the community. It was LGBTQ supportive when the world was not. The history is very much in the nightclub scene, represented in Claudie’s collection by the Harlem Fashion Row outfits (which I don’t like being presented for a child doll). Gladys Bentley was a non binary woman singer who dressed in men’s clothes by her preference and body type. After the end of the Renaissance, she had to wear dresses as a performer. Louis Armstrong is an example of the black migration movement. There were educated black people from the north who had the freedom and opportunity to be educated. Another part of the population were the people who migrated north from the south. They had been sharecroppers and had received less education because of the discrimination in the south. Louis Armstrong brought his talents to the north where he could sing with the band in an environment where they were all free during the 1920’s.
I was not into the new face mold for Claudie. However I was both inspired to learn about the history of the Harlem Renaissance and disappointed by how AG downplayed her release. There is a podcast interview with Connie Porter (author of Addy’s books) describing how she talked with Pleasant Rowland about what time period to write about. The Harlem Renaissance was discussed before they decided to start with the end of slavery. I see Claudie as waiting 30 years and she didn’t even get a catalog cover! My TM 58 does the 1920’s. I named her “Celeste” so the “C” necklace would still work. I hate the Harlem Fashion Row outfits for a 10 year old, so I made three of my own 1920’s style dresses. I have Claudie’s accessories with the hat/necklace/bag/journal/candy bar, the Christmas accessories with the Velveteen Rabbit and tin box, her travel accessories with the suitcase, and her travel dress. Her travel accessories were based on products by Madame CJ Walker, who was a black entrepreneur creating products for the black community. I found that all of the accessory sets are good quality and were well researched and relevant to Claudie’s time. If I had the space, money, and an actual use for them, I would also buy her bed, scooter, and the dog.

I feel like they just completely skipped us over for a historical 90's doll. I was really looking forward to, like, a 1994 doll (like how all the old historicals had years ending in 4). Then I need to get some of the meet Assccories for a few of my historical girl's. Them get Nicki and Isabel outfits cause I just got Nicki Red Vinyl Jumper for the twins in case AG changes things and discontinues it
I think that you should keep 80 out. Every collection should have an exception to the rules and you should make her yours since you like to play with her hair so much. I have always pronounced Molly’s camp as Go-on-again.
I'm a medical nerd I got chronic illness and I love watching shows like untold story's of the ER, rescue 911 and doctor's doing surgery's. the skeleton Halloween costume for Dolls definitely gives me monster high vibes but I'm done for medical shows.
I only have Beforever Addy. I've been wanting Addy since I was a little girl and I waited until wayyyy later on to get her as an adult collector because if I got her when I was younger I would have undone her meet hairstyle and Addy's hair would be like my Kaya's hair needing Alot of help.
I got Claudie not to long ago and she was on a big sale and I needed her to complete my historical doll collection I love her of course. I used a 20 reward certificate and I converted 100 dollars in Visa E gift cards from fetch rewards into AG e gift cards from Target website and so that being said I got her for free. It took me 2 years to save up enough money from scanning receipts on Fetch rewards to get $100 bucks. I got opening Caudie Video is up on my channel. But I got to Claudie's assccories

Try mod podge to seal the glitter on the shoes or something similar
I've used Mod Podge on lots of doll glitter shoes. It works great; it contains the glitter without making the shoes hard.
