They used their semen to help make the baby so biologically they already are family, and besides, people adopt babies all the time and call them family so what is so wrong about having your own baby that has your/your spouse's DNA with it? That's family from the get-go. Besides, it's not like Elton found a random lady and never spoke to her again. He found a healthy, happy woman and talked to her and became close friends before ever trying anything like that. She is very close with their entire family. In addition, after their first baby with her, she helped them again with the second. So that's their entire family right there. Same mother, same fathers, but just not done traditionally. What's the problem in that, though? It's not as if his children will never get to see their biological mother again. Now that they are older I am sure they are already aware that neither of their parents were able to actually birth them lol. If anything, it's like they have 3 parents, which is actually pretty cool.
