This limited series stars André Holland as Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton, and is executive produced by NAACP Image Award winner Janine Sherman Barrois, Jim Hecht, and Joshuah Bearman, with the first two episodes directed and executive produced by multi-award winner Don Cheadle. The six-episode drama chronicles the story of Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton’s escape to Cuba, and is based on the monumental, eponymous magazine article of the same name.

I’m sure the people who made this had good intentions, but this story is so much bigger than a couple seasons. And there’s no way these people could be as passionate about this as they need to be.
This series isn't about Huey and the black panthers, we already know what they did. It's about a portion of Huey life, an event that happened.
Respectfully, we all out here for a serious bio-pic or mini-series, this doesn't look like it digs in but we shall see. Have always thought that the lead should play John Coltrane in a bio pic, bit light but looks exactly like him

I'm happy to see that through this movie they are preserving Huey Newton's legacy. However, the actor whose portraying Huey is not a good fit. I'm sure he's an excellent actor, but he does not remind me of Newton. Roger Guenveur Smith, is the best actor to date to portray Huey Newton. Check out the play "A Huey Newton Story."

The title is ridiculous. How is it related to the events? He wants to escape to Cuba, so the cigar? Why big? Was it some CIA nickname for a mission to stop him?
Some people are hard to portray when you watch all of Huey interviews you can see he was highly intelligent but very perplexed and complicated person a tough role for the actor to portray Huey that was he actually was
I love it.
Meanwhile our black panthers are in jail or dead and now America wants to make a movie with “their” lil twist on it. Over this same theme in film.

I keep hearing negative reviews on this and i am not sure why. It was well scripted, black produced and directed. I was in this film and thought nothing but greatness about it. I guess people just enjoy to be negative.
I dont think it's that, its we are tired of holly wood benefiting the most from our ancestors lives!!!! & what does it change for our people, moving forward. Just another one our stories they capitalize on. Do they give some of the proceeds to our communities, NEVER!! Yes we should have all so Called black staff & control of it all, all the finances etc. & that never or rarely is the case! It actually looks like a good movie but Its bigger than that!!
