Thank you for this video. It caused me to realize how much, mechanically, I had missed by stopping at Legendary Edition (LE). Wilds is far more than just more content. The faster setup seems CRAZY GOOD. Can you tell me, from a LE perspective, how much I would miss by not having 2nd Edition? Are the tiles (with the shelter icon) in Wilds mostly or completely replacing previous tiles? Does that Supplemental Mission book that you mention include missions for even the old small decks like Dinosaurs or Bugs that came alongside the original Gothic set? Would you ever need to mix the larger LE Insanity cards with the smaller environmental cards of Wilds? I just ordered Wilds based on this video. And your code still works BTW.
I have everything for this game. It's a really great game. The only downside is that it can have about a 20 minute setup time as you have to search through tiles to build the "map"tiles you will traverse and search for specific resource cards to build your three decks you will search through as you explore the map tiles. However, once that is all setup, boy is this game absolutely fun! It's one of my family's favorite games. We really enjoy this game.
The way the set up is now campaign based and not one shot I feel the setup isn't AS bad as it was. It definitely does have a set up with everything though.
Got this about 6 months ago, loved it for the first few plays, then the setup became a pain (as I had all sets). Along with this it just felt like a real grind, constantly having monsters on you and as soon as you kill one another two seemed to attach to you… most of your actions are attacking. Also the map tiles got very ‘samey’ after a few plays.
Interesting. What version did you get by chance? I know these 2nd editions have simplified the set up and I haven't had more that a ten minute set up time.
Thanks for the review. I've got the Wasted Wilds box and a couple small expansion boxes. They've been left on the sidelines but now I'm really wanting to bust them open and give them a shot.
I had a single box show up a few months ago and didn't think much of it, the other two showed up just prior to my trip so figured I'd try it out. If you like apocalyptic themes it's awesome. I love games like fallout so it was right up my alley.
One of my top 3 all-time favorite board games. This game do co-op and theme like none other I think it's equally good for up to 4 players, 5+ it start to fall apart xD
Just got this game based on your review! I’ve been on the fence for it for a while but finally got it. I see that your cards are sleeved. Does the scavenge cards fit back in the tray sleeved? And how is the game sleeved in general?
I sleeved mine up because you have a lot of shuffling ect and I like to sleeve any game where you do that. I also condensed all my boxes into two with one holding all the cards and the other the tokens and cardboard.
Have You played Final Girl or Bullet as solo ? Just to understand if You liked this better solo than those two games Also, isn’t drawing randomly from the spawn deck also kinda random as throwing those dice ? Do You spawn monsters to specific tiles, but then they are just set of monsters and You can attack whichever You want and they are not assigned to specific tile, they just all move with You then ?
I own final girl season one. I enjoy it's modular system with the girls, location, and villains. I think it has a brilliant hand system and playing with the time ect. It also is very brutal and can swing quickly. Drawing from a static deck is always less random as you draw those results are removed from the possible options, but because the deck is so big idk if that would actually ever be an issue.
Interesting, can see how you can get different combinations of characters and monsters with this. Not a big fan of post-apocalyptic theme, got one game with that theme that doesn't see the light of day.

Love Wasted Wilds. Just ordered Gothic Horrors with your code. Thanks. 🤘🤘

I've got the legendary big box and Wasted Wilds with all the character expansions.

Great review! If you had to choose one, Which one would it be? My gripe with Wasted wilds is the monsters & heroes. Gameplay may be better though.

@@GameBrigade I do like apocalyptic games, a nice peaceful break from reality 😁
I've been backing this game since the first KS. Fun game, and very underrated.
Yeah right? I was surprised at the lack of content and people talking about it. Definitely wanted to make my audience aware.

Ok. You've sold me.
And, dangerously enough for my wallet, the entire trilogy seems to be on sale.
Well... In for a penny, in for a pound.
I was able to get a discount code if it helps. You're able to get one of the three and see if it fits your style.

I've always had an affinity for post apocalypse games. And the zombie crazy of 2010 was right up my alley
Can’t stand this game. The first mission in Wasted Wilds is overly difficult. Why did they start the game like that? So insane. A major turn off
What hero did you play with?
