Beginner here! Started playing w my son in the hospital 3 days ago SO much to learn! I was defeated by sharknato! And a yellow elephant thing 😂 (something like that). My question is how do I know what to fight other Pokémon’s when that R balloon appears??? I understand that most of this probably sounds like gibberish lol But I’m hoping an experienced player will know exactly what I’m talking about. Thanks!
I’m so sorry your son is in the hospital! Ashley and I will be praying for his full recovery! So, the R balloons are “Team Rocket”! Every time you fight them, they will more than likely throw out different Pokémon. What I think your question is about is something called “type advantages” and what the best Pokémon to fight them with is. Type advantages is just a fancy way to say that each Pokémon has a “type” (some can have 2 types, but don’t worry about that too much, you’ll learn that as you go!) For example, Charmander is a “fire” type. Squirtle is a “water” type. So, when these 2 Pokémon battle, Squirtle has the upper hand, and more than likely will win (unless the Squirtle is just super weak and the Charmander is super strong) because Water puts out Fire! It goes superrrrrr in depth, but that’s definitely a great start! I’ll link you a website that will explain with diagrams what type is strong against what type, and what type is weak against what type. www.pockettactics.com/pokemon-go/type-chart Also, on Pokémon Go, for now, know that the higher the CP is of your Pokémon you can throw out, the better! Once you have those high CP’s, and in the future learn about the stats (with the star rating I talked about in this video), you’ll be able to defeat Team Rocket in now time! I know this is a really late addition to the conversation, but I type in “Pokémon grunt counters and the current month and year” and it gives a full list of the beginning statement from the grunt and what Pokémon are best to use. And then I get my strongest cp and set up my team. And I usually put my buddy in the last spot so I’m getting buddy credit for the battle but don’t usually have to use him…in case he’s not one of the suggested counters. Hopefully you’re still playing and have come across this little tip! Hope all is well with you and your son.

One of my Tips would be to consider using Eeveelutions. They cover 15(all minus Electric, Fairy, and Normal) types offensively with only same type moves. Flareon's Community Day Super Power covers an additional 1 type (Normal) offensively. They cover 15(All minus Normal, Poison, and Rock) types defensively. _X-posted Comment_

Hey! Thanks for watching. You can always level up Pokémon anytime you want. As for which Pokémon to level up, I usually try to stick to leveling up the “3 star” Pokémon. This is seen by clicking the “appraise” button, and having your team leader appraise your Pokémon. You will want to eventually evolve everything for the Pokédex, so it’s great that you’re catching everything! Mainly, aside from the “3 star” and up method, the main Pokémon you want to focus on spending stardust on and leveling up are Pokémon that are “better”. This would be Pokémon like Charmander>charmelleon>Charizard or larvitar>pupitar>Tyranitar. This is just because these have a higher max level, and are better in battle than something like a rattata>raticate. Of course make sure you have enough stardust and are always obtaining more. Thank you for the video. Do you have a video going over participating in raids? My son and I seem to only be in raids by ourselves and can only battle 1-star difficulty. How do you get into raids with stronger pokemon like 5-star? Thank you.
I don’t have one specifically about participating in raids. :( The best thing to do is to join the Pokémon Go Discord! There, you and your son can link up with other players, and you can use a remote raid pass and raid higher level Mons with them, or vice versa! You can also join local Pokémon Go discords/Facebook groups and sometimes people will post that they’re raiding in there! Just Google your city, and Pokémon Go Discord or Facebook group! I had to pause the video at 6:51 because your explaining why not to trade Pokémon when you first start and to save star dust and I’ve only been like a week or 2 weeks now but when I first started (my family peer pressured me) the first thing 2 of them do was tell me to trade with them and they traded me 1 Buffalo each idk how much stardust I spent on those LOL but the game limited them to 1500 cp.
Oh no! The more you level up, the higher the CP cap will be! Don’t worry about all the stardust you spent, haha! Now you know! You can always trade in the future, and get better Pokémon!
My first Pokémon go account was on my phone, it was one of my favourite games on her phone now I have my own account and I’m working on getting my starter Pokémon to it’s mega evaluation

They need to be more up front with the fact that you get coins from gyms. This is will make or break the game for people. I thought it was bad design/pay to win like you said until now. Well now i can actually enjoy the game lol this video was really well done bro
Hey. Great video and tips! I've now played the game for about a month and I really find it difficult to find different types of pokemons. It's for the most part 15-25 differentpokemon that appears. I've been going to a park, lake, ocean and around the city in general. I do find a different one now and then, but I still feel like I'm doing something wrong? Cheers
Thank you! So, Pokémon Go gets different spawns every so often. The game will have certain Pokémon spawn more often for a specific period of time. Seeing the same 15-25 is pretty usual! And of course, like you said, seeing different more “rare” ones every so often. They do this just to create differentiation, and allow you to get the candy to evolve certain species. The more you play, you’ll notice the spawns change with events and what not. Also the game releases different Pokémon in raids every so often, so be on the lookout for those! They had an appraisal system earlier on in the game… sort of! 😂 It looked a lot different back then and didn’t give you the stats it gives you now! I’m pretty sure it just said your Pokémon was a “wonder”, it something along those lines, if it was good! I actually didn’t use it back then. 😅 They have definitely improved, though! Hey! Thanks for watching and commenting! Unfortunately, it does not have a rarity indicator. :( The more you play, though, you will start to catch on which Pokémon are rare and which are common! As in all Pokémon games, there are “legendaries”! These are usually found through raids. You’ll find all this out the more you play! But the best thing to do is just keep playing, and you’ll figure it out! You’ll realize a Pokémon like Dragonite is more rare than a Wurmple! Hope I explained good! This is a great help! Thank you bro! I think my biggest thing I can't still figure out is the appraisal and knowing what's good and not cuz I keep dying in battles and stuff. Never seen more than 3 stars orange. I know this sounds really dumb, but I still don't quite understand it all. I've even screen shot a pic of what Pokemon is good towards other type and what not... So for me to remember that can be a lil frustrating whilst trying to figure out what I should do with what Pokemons. I'm about to transfer everything 2 stars and lower because I feel I should only look for 3 stars and this 4 stars too. Thank you for your tips brother, it does help knowing about the gyms. I just put my Pokemon in it as well as my wife's Pokemon :-)

Great video!! I definitely need some tips after not playing since 2017! Like tonight, I came across a poke stop near a gym that was black with the letter R. Some lady dressed in black challenged me so I went for it - lost both matches. Apparently I used the wrong type of Pokémon to beat hers. My question is how do you know ahead what type she’ll choose, so you can choose yours appropriately (like water, fire, etc)? Thanks so much! New sub here!!
Reading what they say can help determine what they’ll throw out! So if they’re like “my team will burn you to a crisp!” then you know it’s a fire type team more than likely! Or if they say “ke ke ke ke ke” then it’s a ghost type team! (This is a throwback to Pokemon Red/Blue) Other than that, if you lose, you can always re-challenge them with different Pokémon, and get the type advantage! Thank you so much for the sub! What about your buddy Pokémon? Is there any interesting info about that? Like, does it matter who you use as your buddy or what their power is? Right now I'm using the Charmander I got when I first started my account. His CP is really low though, but I wanna keep him to evolve him into Charizard eventually. Which leads to this question - Should I be using stardust on him? Or is he too weak for them? Should I try to catch a stronger Charmander and use him instead? I just don't know how rare he will be so I have no idea when I could catch another one. Or should I just switch my buddy to a stronger Pokémon I have with a higher CP like my CP 700 Hitmonchan? Hope you'll respond soon!
As far as your buddy goes, it isn’t superrrr important. It’s a good way to get candy, and you can get “buddy bonuses” for having them. And it’s really fun to get them to “ultra buddy”. So if you wanna get more candy to evolve your first Charmander, especially since you have the memory of it, you’d be fine leaving it as your buddy! Brand new player. In 2016 I was making a Lil cash with Uber and hated hearing "can you please slow down". I thought it was all about catching Lil creatures. Well it's 2022 and I walked 6 miles yesterday catching Lil creatures 😂 and learning my area. It has a lot of information that I did not know was inside the app. I can't wait to get to level 38 so I can contribute. Yes, I am scanning PokéStops for now. I don't have a lot of friends but I like sending and receiving gifts. I have some unique items in my pack which makes me hate 'your backpack is full' or however it reads. I used some Google Play coupons and points with that. If I think of anything I need help with, I'll be sure to ask here. Question, does date stamped into a pokemon matters? Is started playing in 2018 and stopped around 2020 and I'm max in storage. Thinking if it's alright to transfer the other Pokemons or shouldn I save them
The dates are more or less just to show you when you caught them! Just kind of a fun thing to look at. It’s cool to see the ones I caught in 2016, some of which I can literally remember the exact moment I caught them. 😅 There’s actually kind of a hidden feature where you are more likely to receive a “lucky” Pokémon from a trade with a friend if you trade them a Pokémon from 2016. I do think there is a cap on it, though. Aside from that, I really haven’t seen any other benefit! If you’re not emotionally attached to them, or if they’re not super good, I don’t see any harm in transferring them! Great question! Have an awesome day and God bless!

For sure! So these are what’s known as “type advantages”! You hit the nail on the head with “water kills fire”! In the same way, electric is strong against water, fire is strong against grass. This actually goes superrrrrr in depth, as a lot of Pokémon have 2 types! (For example, Gyrados is Water/Flying)! You can also find graphs and stuff if you look up “Pokémon Type Advantages”!

To get more Pokeballs, just visit pokestops (the blue things that pop up in cities)! The amount you get differs each time. Usually, the Great and Ultra balls are more rare than just normal Pokeballs. It is possible to up the amount of storage you have in the item shop! You can get coins by battling in gyms! When you receive gifts, just go to your friends list, and you can open them there! As far as the gifts from pokestops, they just go into your inventory! The combat power is just how leveled up your Pokémon is, so it’s possible to have a 10 CP Pokémon that has 3 stars! You can actually eventually level them up to a high CP with the more stardust you get! The circle color just indicates how easy or difficult the catch rate of that Pokémon is! I hope that helped! So if I have the same Pokémon One with 3 stars and have low cp, and have 2 stars or 1 star same Pokémon with higher cp, I should take care evolve and power up the 3 star one!

For me, personally, if the Pokémon is a super super low CP, and still 3 stars, I will just try to catch a better one in the future that is a high CP and 3 stars! But for a legendary Pokémon or something, sometimes it’s good to make them your buddy, or just give them rare candy, and save up stardust to level them up! But for the most part, the more you play, you will catch a high CP 3 star Pokémon!

It’s basically just a device that connects to your Pokémon Go game. You can wear it on your wrist, and it’ll notify you of a Pokémon that popped up, or a pokestop, and you can collect items that way. To get Pokeballs visit pokestops (the little blue things you can spin!) The further you progress in the game, be sure to put your Pokémon in “gyms” to get poke coins! Use these pokecoins to get item storage upgrades to carry more Pokeballs! That’s the best way to keep them. If you’re catching a lot, you’ll use a lot of Pokeballs, so the item storage upgrade really helps! As far as the battle system goes, which part are you confused on? I can try to help! You automatically get the candy for catching it’s specific species! You won’t be able to feed a Pokémon the wrong candy to evolve! As long as you have enough, it’ll let you evolve it! Some Pokémon don’t evolve, though! (For example Delibird) You will still get candy, but there will be no evolve button! Let me know if that made sense! Have an awesome day, and God bless!

@@ourradiantgaming Thanks! Yeah, I hadn't seen Pinap berries, or knew how to battle or whether you would lose your Pokemon if you lost (I don't think you do?). I've been playing now for a bit more than a week and a lot more makes sense. I do find it frustrating that I often can't spin spinners or open gifts because I have too many items. I've captured gyms but haven't tried raid battles yet. There are so many different item types to use. I guess I'm still confused why the Star appraisal system seems completely disconnected from the CP and HP. I haven't tended to transfer pokémon much yet because I'm concerned about getting rid of the wrong ones. Oh and some have multiple possible evolutions, and others have none? And also is the game smart at all in recommending battle parties, regarding which types are strong against others? Or does it just pick your top CP characters? Thanks again for any insight you can provide!

You definitely don’t lose Pokémon if you lose a battle! They just “go to sleep” and you have to revive them with a revive item! The item thing gets better! The more coins you collect by holding guns, you’ll be able to purchase item storage, and Pokémon storage! I recommend doing this! There are some Pokémon that evolves 2-3 times; and some that don’t evolve at all! This just comes with learning the different species, and really just memorizing which ones do and don’t. 😂 I still can’t keep them all straight, so don’t feel bad! The Star Appraisal system is usually what I follow to determine whether or not I should transfer something! I definitely recommend catching every type of Pokémon you can to fill out your Pokédex! This makes the game super fun, and fuels my completionist spirit! Haha. As far as keeping certain types, I like to do that just so I have a counter to an enemy Pokémon I’m battling. I will definitely transfer stuff I don’t use, or doesn’t have a high CP or IV (the star system) just so it doesn’t take up space! And unfortunately there is no way around the 50 coin/day limit! Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this! The only thing you can do to help is to throw/feed them “raspberries” or “golden raspberries” before throwing your Pokeball to help with your catch rate! Also, if you use a “great” ball or an “ultra” ball, this will improve your catch rate as well! However, sometimes they will still jump out! This is just part of the RNG of the game. Some Pokémon have better catch rates than others. For example, it’s typically easier to catch something like a Wurmple, as opposed to catching something like a Charizard or a legendary like Mewtwo! There are also times when your Pokémon will “flee” or “run away”. This is also unpreventable and just left up to RNG. Something I do sometimes is just rage tap the screen when trying to catch a Pokémon. This literally doesn’t do anything as far as I know, but it helps with the stress of “am I going to catch this Pokémon right now?!” 😂😂 Great great question! Appreciate the comment, and you watching! I noticed that when the wild Pokémon have red circle is hard to catch than yellow than the green, and when it is red and feed perries it might turn yellow and will be easier to catch. Great throw and curved throw also helps in catch. How I not my catch rate and Pokémon catch rate., is there a way to identify which pokmen to catch and which to leave, like if there a guide for Pokémons in general, as it seems I waste my pokballs on non useful Pokémons.
Sorry, just now seeing this! I recommend just catching everything! This helps with experience, and you can use the candy you get to evolve the Pokémon you’ve caught to get a ton of XP! The colors just indicate that it’s a harder Pokémon to catch, for example a higher level, or an evolved form like a Blastoise compared to a Squirtle! If you’re lower on Pokeballs, maybe target the Pokémon that you need to evolve for your Pokédex, or target higher CP, and better Pokémon that you can use in battle! You can look up “Pokémon Go best Pokémon” on google and you should be able to find out different topics on which Pokémon species is the best!

So, I name all the Pokémon I have a lot of candy for “evolve” just to make it easier for me to do this tactic my wife and I discovered using a lucky egg (which grants you double XP for 30 minutes) and mass evolving a lotttt of Pokémon in that 30 minutes to get around 100,000+ EXP! I think this game would be more cool if finding Pokemon was way more rare. I went today to a park and walked up and down the sidewalk with my son and caught about 30. It made it redundant every 15 ft having one or two or three choices catching all three walking 10 ft catching three more and doing the same ball throw every time without any new or exciting things happening. I would rather have less Pokemon so when I found one it was exciting instead of more Pokemon. Is there any other games like this that might be like I'm describing?
I understand that! Most of the times, the ones that have more prominent spawns are common. What you may like is doing raids, and seeking out legendaries! These are harder to find. Also shiny hunting is super fun. This is just when a certain Pokémon changed color, and it’s pretty rare! A lot of people love shiny hunting!

If you plan on playing a lot again, and you have a spouse, or friend (online or in person) who also played a lot, I recommend starting over just so you all can get the “referral” code! This just helps you both get in game rewards when one of you completes missions! Some of the rewards are also pretty good! (Like super incubators!) As far as keeping the old account, that’s also a great option! The stardust really isn’t an issue, you can always get that whether it’s a new account, or an old account! I love looking back at my 2016 Pokémon and having those memories, but that’s all it really is. You’ll find high CP Pokémon that appraise good in the wild just by playing! If you want some awesome in game rewards, start over! My wife actually got locked out of her 2016 account, started over, and pretty much loves her new account even more than her first! It's there any advantage to making a new account? I was only level 15 5 years ago but id like to get back into the game. Should I continue my old account or start fresh?
Good question!! So, if you start a new account, you can get a “referral code” from someone, which gives you sort of quest line that when you complete tasks on, you get some pretty good items! I think you can also use a referral if you’re starting back into the game, but I’ve only ever used the new account referral code 😀 plus, you should be able to get back to level 15 super quick! You have to use the referral code when starting a new account or I think up to 48 hours after starting one.
You can actually only add one Pokémon per gym (until it gets kicked out, then you can re-add a Pokémon) Other people from the team you chose have to add more Pokémon into that gym, up to 6 total from everyone! 😄
Thanks for the video. I keep running out of storage for both Pokémon and items. I transferred some of my Pokémon and used up as many items as I could. I even paid for a new bag, but I still can't catch new Pokémon or get new items. What am I doing wrong?
At the top of your screen when you’re inside your Pokémon storage, and inside your item storage, you’ll see a number for how many of each you can hold. For example, it’ll say 372/300. This means you’re 72 above that max storage. The item bag in the shop is for item storage, but there’s also “Pokémon Storage” you can buy as well. You can get coins by putting your Pokémon in gyms! You can get a max of 50 per day! When you first start out the game, your storage on both is pretty low. You can always look at the number at the tops of each, and transfer Pokémon, or discard items. Sometimes I’ll have to get rid of a ton of normal potions and stuff, because I’ll have a ton of max potions. Hope this helped! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! That is so crazy! Be sure to make sure your motion and activity is set up in your settings on your phone! The game tracks how far you walk. You have to walk a decent bit for it to track stuff like eggs, and sometimes it takes them a bit to catch up!
Oooo great question! Thank you for asking! You won’t lose your Pokémon if someone defeats it in a gym! Your Pokémon will just “faint”. This basically means it’s health will reach “0”. To bring it back to full health just use the “revives” you get, and then the potions as well to restore it to full health! There’s different variations of potions and revives, some stronger than others! For example a “potion” would only restore a little HP after you revived a fainted Pokémon, while a “max potion” would completely restore your Pokémon’s health after you revive! There are actually “max revives” as well that don’t even require potions! To see which Pokémon are fainted, or even just a little hurt, just go to your item storage, click on potion or revive, and it will show you all the Pokémon you can use these items on! Beginner here! Started playing w my son in the hospital 3 days ago SO much to learn! I was defeated by sharknato! And a yellow elephant thing 😂 (something like that). My question is how do I know what to fight other Pokémon’s when that R balloon appears??? I understand that most of this probably sounds like gibberish lol But I’m hoping an experienced player will know exactly what I’m talking about. Thanks!

So, the R balloons are “Team Rocket”! Every time you fight them, they will more than likely throw out different Pokémon.
What I think your question is about is something called “type advantages” and what the best Pokémon to fight them with is. Type advantages is just a fancy way to say that each Pokémon has a “type” (some can have 2 types, but don’t worry about that too much, you’ll learn that as you go!)
For example, Charmander is a “fire” type. Squirtle is a “water” type.
So, when these 2 Pokémon battle, Squirtle has the upper hand, and more than likely will win (unless the Squirtle is just super weak and the Charmander is super strong) because Water puts out Fire!
It goes superrrrrr in depth, but that’s definitely a great start! I’ll link you a website that will explain with diagrams what type is strong against what type, and what type is weak against what type.

Also, on Pokémon Go, for now, know that the higher the CP is of your Pokémon you can throw out, the better! Once you have those high CP’s, and in the future learn about the stats (with the star rating I talked about in this video), you’ll be able to defeat Team Rocket in now time!
Also, don’t feel bad if you lose. Ashley and I both lose every now and then. Sometimes multiple times before we figure out what to use against them. 😂😂

I know this is a really late addition to the conversation, but I type in “Pokémon grunt counters and the current month and year” and it gives a full list of the beginning statement from the grunt and what Pokémon are best to use. And then I get my strongest cp and set up my team. And I usually put my buddy in the last spot so I’m getting buddy credit for the battle but don’t usually have to use him…in case he’s not one of the suggested counters. Hopefully you’re still playing and have come across this little tip! Hope all is well with you and your son.

My nephew is old enough to play now & he doesn't have the patience to teach me technique lol I'm having a lot of fun trying to figure out Pokemon from basics I didn't know you spin the sign at poke stops lol I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. One of my Tips would be to consider using Eeveelutions. They cover 15(all minus Electric, Fairy, and Normal) types offensively with only same type moves. Flareon's Community Day Super Power covers an additional 1 type (Normal) offensively. They cover 15(All minus Normal, Poison, and Rock) types defensively.

I had this game all wrong. I thought i could pick my fav and just train it up to compete, but the way the game is set up you kinda have to take what is given to you and do the best with it.
The game is more about catching multiple Pokémon as opposed to just training specific ones! It’s still super super fun, though! I love it!
Really useful tips, thank you! my main concern was what/when to power up and evolve pokemon? I'm L23 and collecting all these pokemon and catching everything but didn't have a strategy of when or what to use candies and stardust on!
Hey! Thanks for watching. You can always level up Pokémon anytime you want. As for which Pokémon to level up, I usually try to stick to leveling up the “3 star” Pokémon. This is seen by clicking the “appraise” button, and having your team leader appraise your Pokémon. You will want to eventually evolve everything for the Pokédex, so it’s great that you’re catching everything!
Mainly, aside from the “3 star” and up method, the main Pokémon you want to focus on spending stardust on and leveling up are Pokémon that are “better”. This would be Pokémon like Charmander>charmelleon>Charizard or larvitar>pupitar>Tyranitar. This is just because these have a higher max level, and are better in battle than something like a rattata>raticate.
Of course make sure you have enough stardust and are always obtaining more.

I don’t have one specifically about participating in raids. :( The best thing to do is to join the Pokémon Go Discord! There, you and your son can link up with other players, and you can use a remote raid pass and raid higher level Mons with them, or vice versa! I sort of go over it in this video --> ua-cam.com/video/J8nXozQS2ks/v-deo.html when I talk about raiding to gain XP! You can also join local Pokémon Go discords/Facebook groups and sometimes people will post that they’re raiding in there! Just Google your city, and Pokémon Go Discord or Facebook group! I hope this helped! The more you all level up, the easier it will become to battle 2-3 stars by yourself as well! My wife and I can pretty much do those by ourselves now. I had to pause the video at 6:51 because your explaining why not to trade Pokémon when you first start and to save star dust and I’ve only been like a week or 2 weeks now but when I first started (my family peer pressured me) the first thing 2 of them do was tell me to trade with them and they traded me 1 Buffalo each idk how much stardust I spent on those LOL but the game limited them to 1500 cp.
Oh no! The more you level up, the higher the CP cap will be! Don’t worry about all the stardust you spent, haha! Now you know! You can always trade in the future, and get better Pokémon!
My first Pokémon go account was on my phone, it was one of my favourite games on her phone now I have my own account and I’m working on getting my starter Pokémon to it’s mega evaluation

I've been going to a park, lake, ocean and around the city in general. I do find a different one now and then, but I still feel like I'm doing something wrong? Cheers
Thank you! So, Pokémon Go gets different spawns every so often. The game will have certain Pokémon spawn more often for a specific period of time. Seeing the same 15-25 is pretty usual! And of course, like you said, seeing different more “rare” ones every so often. They do this just to create differentiation, and allow you to get the candy to evolve certain species. The more you play, you’ll notice the spawns change with events and what not. Also the game releases different Pokémon in raids every so often, so be on the lookout for those! Did they have the appraisal thing back in 2016? Lol because I never knew about it.. decided to re-download Pokémon Go after 5-6 years of not playing and this video helps a lot.

It looked a lot different back then and didn’t give you the stats it gives you now! I’m pretty sure it just said your Pokémon was a “wonder”, it something along those lines, if it was good! I actually didn’t use it back then. 😅

As in all Pokémon games, there are “legendaries”! These are usually found through raids. You’ll find all this out the more you play!

This is a great help! Thank you bro! I think my biggest thing I can't still figure out is the appraisal and knowing what's good and not cuz I keep dying in battles and stuff. Never seen more than 3 stars orange. I know this sounds really dumb, but I still don't quite understand it all. I've even screen shot a pic of what Pokemon is good towards other type and what not... So for me to remember that can be a lil frustrating whilst trying to figure out what I should do with what Pokemons. I'm about to transfer everything 2 stars and lower because I feel I should only look for 3 stars and this 4 stars too. Thank you for your tips brother, it does help knowing about the gyms. I just put my Pokemon in it as well as my wife's Pokemon :-)

Great video!! I definitely need some tips after not playing since 2017! Like tonight, I came across a poke stop near a gym that was black with the letter R. Some lady dressed in black challenged me so I went for it - lost both matches. Apparently I used the wrong type of Pokémon to beat hers. My question is how do you know ahead what type she’ll choose, so you can choose yours appropriately (like water, fire, etc)? Thanks so much! New sub here!!
Reading what they say can help determine what they’ll throw out! So if they’re like “my team will burn you to a crisp!” then you know it’s a fire type team more than likely! Or if they say “ke ke ke ke ke” then it’s a ghost type team! (This is a throwback to Pokemon Red/Blue)
Other than that, if you lose, you can always re-challenge them with different Pokémon, and get the type advantage!

What about your buddy Pokémon? Is there any interesting info about that? Like, does it matter who you use as your buddy or what their power is? Right now I'm using the Charmander I got when I first started my account. His CP is really low though, but I wanna keep him to evolve him into Charizard eventually. Which leads to this question - Should I be using stardust on him? Or is he too weak for them? Should I try to catch a stronger Charmander and use him instead? I just don't know how rare he will be so I have no idea when I could catch another one. Or should I just switch my buddy to a stronger Pokémon I have with a higher CP like my CP 700 Hitmonchan? Hope you'll respond soon!
As far as your buddy goes, it isn’t superrrr important. It’s a good way to get candy, and you can get “buddy bonuses” for having them. And it’s really fun to get them to “ultra buddy”. So if you wanna get more candy to evolve your first Charmander, especially since you have the memory of it, you’d be fine leaving it as your buddy! You can also switch your buddy multiple times per day. I hope this answered your question! Have an awesome day, and God bless!

Brand new player. In 2016 I was making a Lil cash with Uber and hated hearing "can you please slow down". I thought it was all about catching Lil creatures. Well it's 2022 and I walked 6 miles yesterday catching Lil creatures 😂 and learning my area.
It has a lot of information that I did not know was inside the app. I can't wait to get to level 38 so I can contribute. Yes, I am scanning PokéStops for now. I don't have a lot of friends but I like sending and receiving gifts. I have some unique items in my pack which makes me hate 'your backpack is full' or however it reads. I used some Google Play coupons and points with that.
If I think of anything I need help with, I'll be sure to ask here. Thanks for the capture all Pokémon tip because I wasn't doing that in order to not have duplicate, triplicate, etc etc

Highly recommend joining the Pokémon discord group if you have the discord app. You can get a lot of friends that way!

The dates are more or less just to show you when you caught them! Just kind of a fun thing to look at. It’s cool to see the ones I caught in 2016, some of which I can literally remember the exact moment I caught them. 😅
There’s actually kind of a hidden feature where you are more likely to receive a “lucky” Pokémon from a trade with a friend if you trade them a Pokémon from 2016. I do think there is a cap on it, though.
Aside from that, I really haven’t seen any other benefit! If you’re not emotionally attached to them, or if they’re not super good, I don’t see any harm in transferring them!

For sure! So these are what’s known as “type advantages”! You hit the nail on the head with “water kills fire”! In the same way, electric is strong against water, fire is strong against grass. This actually goes superrrrrr in depth, as a lot of Pokémon have 2 types! (For example, Gyrados is Water/Flying)!

You can also find graphs and stuff if you look up “Pokémon Type Advantages”!

To get more Pokeballs, just visit pokestops (the blue things that pop up in cities)! The amount you get differs each time. Usually, the Great and Ultra balls are more rare than just normal Pokeballs. It is possible to up the amount of storage you have in the item shop! You can get coins by battling in gyms!
When you receive gifts, just go to your friends list, and you can open them there! As far as the gifts from pokestops, they just go into your inventory!
The combat power is just how leveled up your Pokémon is, so it’s possible to have a 10 CP Pokémon that has 3 stars! You can actually eventually level them up to a high CP with the more stardust you get!
The circle color just indicates how easy or difficult the catch rate of that Pokémon is!

One with 3 stars and have low cp, and have 2 stars or 1 star same Pokémon with higher cp, I should take care evolve and power up the 3 star one!

@@kareemrabie29 For the most part, yes! For me, personally, if the Pokémon is a super super low CP, and still 3 stars, I will just try to catch a better one in the future that is a high CP and 3 stars!
But for a legendary Pokémon or something, sometimes it’s good to make them your buddy, or just give them rare candy, and save up stardust to level them up!
But for the most part, the more you play, you will catch a high CP 3 star Pokémon!

It’s basically just a device that connects to your Pokémon Go game. You can wear it on your wrist, and it’ll notify you of a Pokémon that popped up, or a pokestop, and you can collect items that way. I keep running out of pokeballs and I can't figure out how the battles work
To get Pokeballs visit pokestops (the little blue things you can spin!)
The further you progress in the game, be sure to put your Pokémon in “gyms” to get poke coins! Use these pokecoins to get item storage upgrades to carry more Pokeballs! That’s the best way to keep them. If you’re catching a lot, you’ll use a lot of Pokeballs, so the item storage upgrade really helps!
As far as the battle system goes, which part are you confused on? I can try to help!

Honestly there’s not a trick, just throwing a curve ball and using the golden razz berry is the best thing you can do 😁 the rest is chance!
How do I know if it's part of the evolutionary line? To feed it the right candy...
You automatically get the candy for catching it’s specific species! You won’t be able to feed a Pokémon the wrong candy to evolve! As long as you have enough, it’ll let you evolve it! Some Pokémon don’t evolve, though! (For example Delibird) You will still get candy, but there will be no evolve button! Let me know if that made sense! Have an awesome day, and God bless!

@@ourradiantgaming Thanks! Yeah, I hadn't seen Pinap berries, or knew how to battle or whether you would lose your Pokemon if you lost (I don't think you do?). I've been playing now for a bit more than a week and a lot more makes sense. I do find it frustrating that I often can't spin spinners or open gifts because I have too many items. I've captured gyms but haven't tried raid battles yet. There are so many different item types to use.
I guess I'm still confused why the Star appraisal system seems completely disconnected from the CP and HP. I haven't tended to transfer pokémon much yet because I'm concerned about getting rid of the wrong ones. Oh and some have multiple possible evolutions, and others have none? And also is the game smart at all in recommending battle parties, regarding which types are strong against others? Or does it just pick your top CP characters?

You definitely don’t lose Pokémon if you lose a battle! They just “go to sleep” and you have to revive them with a revive item!
The item thing gets better! The more coins you collect by holding guns, you’ll be able to purchase item storage, and Pokémon storage! I recommend doing this!
There are some Pokémon that evolves 2-3 times; and some that don’t evolve at all! This just comes with learning the different species, and really just memorizing which ones do and don’t. 😂 I still can’t keep them all straight, so don’t feel bad!

For the most part, the game tries to help you out with the best Pokémon to use! It’s not 100% perfect, but where you’re just starting, I don’t see a problem with using it! Type advantages and stuff will come the more you learn about Pokémon!
I definitely recommend catching every type of Pokémon you can to fill out your Pokédex! This makes the game super fun, and fuels my completionist spirit! Haha. As far as keeping certain types, I like to do that just so I have a counter to an enemy Pokémon I’m battling. I will definitely transfer stuff I don’t use, or doesn’t have a high CP or IV (the star system) just so it doesn’t take up space!

When catching a Pokémon, sometimes it goes free and escape. Is that a normal thing, or there is something to do about or prevent from getting free?
Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this! The only thing you can do to help is to throw/feed them “raspberries” or “golden raspberries” before throwing your Pokeball to help with your catch rate! Also, if you use a “great” ball or an “ultra” ball, this will improve your catch rate as well! However, sometimes they will still jump out!
This is just part of the RNG of the game. Some Pokémon have better catch rates than others. For example, it’s typically easier to catch something like a Wurmple, as opposed to catching something like a Charizard or a legendary like Mewtwo!
There are also times when your Pokémon will “flee” or “run away”. This is also unpreventable and just left up to RNG.
Something I do sometimes is just rage tap the screen when trying to catch a Pokémon. This literally doesn’t do anything as far as I know, but it helps with the stress of “am I going to catch this Pokémon right now?!” 😂😂

I noticed that when the wild Pokémon have red circle is hard to catch than yellow than the green, and when it is red and feed perries it might turn yellow and will be easier to catch. Great throw and curved throw also helps in catch. How I not my catch rate and Pokémon catch rate., is there a way to identify which pokmen to catch and which to leave, like if there a guide for Pokémons in general, as it seems I waste my pokballs on non useful Pokémons.

Sorry, just now seeing this! I recommend just catching everything! This helps with experience, and you can use the candy you get to evolve the Pokémon you’ve caught to get a ton of XP! The colors just indicate that it’s a harder Pokémon to catch, for example a higher level, or an evolved form like a Blastoise compared to a Squirtle! If you’re lower on Pokeballs, maybe target the Pokémon that you need to evolve for your Pokédex, or target higher CP, and better Pokémon that you can use in battle! You can look up “Pokémon Go best Pokémon” on google and you should be able to find out different topics on which Pokémon species is the best!

So, I name all the Pokémon I have a lot of candy for “evolve” just to make it easier for me to do this tactic my wife and I discovered using a lucky egg (which grants you double XP for 30 minutes) and mass evolving a lotttt of Pokémon in that 30 minutes to get around 100,000+ EXP!
It’s basically just a way to make it easier for me to find them when I do that!

I think this game would be more cool if finding Pokemon was way more rare. I went today to a park and walked up and down the sidewalk with my son and caught about 30. It made it redundant every 15 ft having one or two or three choices catching all three walking 10 ft catching three more and doing the same ball throw every time without any new or exciting things happening. I would rather have less Pokemon so when I found one it was exciting instead of more Pokemon. Is there any other games like this that might be like I'm describing?
I understand that! Most of the times, the ones that have more prominent spawns are common. What you may like is doing raids, and seeking out legendaries! These are harder to find. Also shiny hunting is super fun. This is just when a certain Pokémon changed color, and it’s pretty rare! A lot of people love shiny hunting!

If you plan on playing a lot again, and you have a spouse, or friend (online or in person) who also played a lot, I recommend starting over just so you all can get the “referral” code!
This just helps you both get in game rewards when one of you completes missions! Some of the rewards are also pretty good! (Like super incubators!)

All that to say, if you have some awesome Pokémon on your old account that appraise good, and are high CP, use that one! I love looking back at my 2016 Pokémon and having those memories, but that’s all it really is. You’ll find high CP Pokémon that appraise good in the wild just by playing!
If you want some awesome in game rewards, start over! My wife actually got locked out of her 2016 account, started over, and pretty much loves her new account even more than her first! It didn’t take her that long to hit level 25 either! (Keep in mind we played a decent amount, too!)

Good question!! So, if you start a new account, you can get a “referral code” from someone, which gives you sort of quest line that when you complete tasks on, you get some pretty good items!
I think you can also use a referral if you’re starting back into the game, but I’ve only ever used the new account referral code 😀 plus, you should be able to get back to level 15 super quick!
You have to use the referral code when starting a new account or I think up to 48 hours after starting one.

How do u add more Pokemon to a gym I added my drillbee and it got taken down coz I didn't know how to add more Pokemon
You can actually only add one Pokémon per gym (until it gets kicked out, then you can re-add a Pokémon)
Other people from the team you chose have to add more Pokémon into that gym, up to 6 total from everyone! 😄

Thanks for the video. I keep running out of storage for both Pokémon and items. I transferred some of my Pokémon and used up as many items as I could. I even paid for a new bag, but I still can't catch new Pokémon or get new items. What am I doing wrong?
At the top of your screen when you’re inside your Pokémon storage, and inside your item storage, you’ll see a number for how many of each you can hold. For example, it’ll say 372/300. This means you’re 72 above that max storage. The item bag in the shop is for item storage, but there’s also “Pokémon Storage” you can buy as well. You can get coins by putting your Pokémon in gyms! You can get a max of 50 per day!
When you first start out the game, your storage on both is pretty low. You can always look at the number at the tops of each, and transfer Pokémon, or discard items. Sometimes I’ll have to get rid of a ton of normal potions and stuff, because I’ll have a ton of max potions.

That is so crazy! Be sure to make sure your motion and activity is set up in your settings on your phone! The game tracks how far you walk. You have to walk a decent bit for it to track stuff like eggs, and sometimes it takes them a bit to catch up!
Will you lose your Pokémon inside the gim when someone defeats it
Oooo great question! Thank you for asking!
You won’t lose your Pokémon if someone defeats it in a gym! Your Pokémon will just “faint”. This basically means it’s health will reach “0”.
To bring it back to full health just use the “revives” you get, and then the potions as well to restore it to full health!
There’s different variations of potions and revives, some stronger than others! For example a “potion” would only restore a little HP after you revived a fainted Pokémon, while a “max potion” would completely restore your Pokémon’s health after you revive! There are actually “max revives” as well that don’t even require potions!
To see which Pokémon are fainted, or even just a little hurt, just go to your item storage, click on potion or revive, and it will show you all the Pokémon you can use these items on!
