@@Mr.Smith101 My fist modern bike was also an FZR600. Once I got my FZR1000 though, I didn't ride it much. Still have the 1000, its the least "weird" bike of my collection.
Visio, youre videos are awesome and they're consistent. which is gold in the UA-cam world. I dont think there is a video i haven't enjoyed of yours. peace from the States
Excellent video. That Ducati was amazing and I thought it couldn't be topped, but the last few were incredible. Some of them reminded me of being a kid with a 4-stroke dirt bike. I was freakin crazy on that thing.
You can't use does things on the highway because long freeway trips really suck with a 1-cylinder. A 2-cylinder is just better for the highway. Still, 1-cylinders are one of the best engines, especially the off-road and all roads ones. And those old (1-cylinders) two stroke engines are indestructible!
Ilias Lamari well I did a 700km trip in one day with a single cylinder 120cc engine bike. I'm broke as hell but worth the trip. It's uncomfortable and a little underpowered, but to cruise at 80km/h-90km/h are just a breeze.
yeah 2t blows up in your hand cuz it is NOT meant to be driven as a 4t. It requires a different ride style, shifting and clutch usage. Using 2ts for years now and never had an issue with them other than the fuel consuption...
milan Nice, I got a Derbi Senda DRD SM Racing, which I keep kinda stock, and a Derbi DFW with a 70cc kit and a TruboKit exhaust, powerfilter and a bigger carb.
I've got a derbi senda too, 80cc airsal (ports tuned) 24mm dellortho, twinair filter, HPI ignition, everything is ported and flowed, has an extreme amount of power
I think the Suzuki LS-650 Boulevard deserves a spot on this list. It's a 650cc one lunger, with belt drive, and an amazing sound. I used to have a blue one that turned purple in the sunlight (back then it was called the LS-650 Savage), with drag style handlebars, and I absolutely loved it. I'd post a pic of it if I could.
Have a KLR, have owned a yamaha sr500 and a few other singles including a BSA 441 Victor. Love singles. The Suzuki DR 650 is a pretty great bike, can be had cheap and has good aftermarket support. It's something I have kept an eye out for.
I really appreciate that you did a video on big ol'monos! I would've liked to see more 80's superenduro monsters like my xt600 2kf, or teneree's or honda paris dakar, etc. but i've really liked the video as it is! I've discovered some new bike i wasn't aware of! Keep doin' videos buddy, i love it.
You missed the Suzuki LS650/S40 with a 650cc single piston engine air cooled. It's a very reliable and powerful motorcycle also the sound that it makes it's pretty neat.
I can't agree that singles sound great and would have fallen asleep if it had not been for the segment on the Manx Norton. Now THAT's a proper engine note! The Velocette Venom Thruxton 500 is (was) another candidate for a good noise.
Pleasantly surprised that you mentioned the Panther. But, disappointed you did not mention the Ducati 250 or 450 desmo of the sixties and early seventies. Nor, the Yamaha SR 500 or SRX 600. And, what about the Suzuki DR 750?
A friend of mine has the MT-03. I still remember I had to hold on to my nuts when he went full throttle to pass that traffic light😂. Man what a brutal thing that is...it got me in love with single-cylinder bikes
Agung Bagus He is talking about the old one with the engine of the XT660. The new version is now a 300 ccm inline-2, yeah that’s right but we‘re talking about the other version.
The mt-03 is basically an yamaha xt engine. I wouldn't say it's an amazing sounding bike, I don't like the seating position, it's pretty upright but it's a fun engine. For s first bike it's easy to ride because the seating position is somewhat similar to a scooter but the engine can be overwelming because it's not linear
the nice thing about the seating position in combination with the very comfortable seat is that you can sit on there and ride for a very long time. i did almost 1000km in one day on mine and the short wheel base and high low end torque mean you can have tons of fun on a twisty road.
Tomatnaufmaugn the one I used had an unconfortable seat, very stiff and the seat got quite hot from the exhaust after a while but maybe the owner swapped it for some reason. Yeah of course, if you are going for long distance travel the seating position is perfetct, I didn't try to do so but the owner of the mt03 i tried say it's even capable in light off road if that's true it has the benefits of an adventure bike and a sport bike
upside downdog I often went in the '90 to the TT Assen circuit in the Netherlands to watch the Mono races. Both the sound and speed of the Ducati Supermono were insane!! I think its the best and also loudest mono ever build.
Jean Marin The desmo valve train sure lets it rev good. All the rest in this video sounded like the big singles that they are. Ducati sounds like a race machine!
Why does everybody bicker about the Maico 700. The enginge was a concept for sidecars, it's basically a traktor engine. ordinary 500 cross grand prix bikes have had more horsepower and torque than the maico 700. Also no it's not at all hard to ride. That's why people use it, the bigger a two stroke engine gets, the smaller it's peaky characterstics get. It's the dumbest legend on the entire internet!

This time your statements are simply wrong, the Maico 700 wasn't a game changer, it wasn't even a success! I am absolutely confused, you write so much nonsense! First of all, I do know the story of Maico pretty well, as my grandpa and my godfather were pros and rode for Maico. My grandad was european champion on a maico. I don't quite get wether you put the turning point on Maicos in general or on the maico 700, one could be called true all though you are wildly exaggerating their impact, but the 700 was never raced in any solo category as there simply wasn't a class one could race them in. Sidecars, which it was designed for, used big V2s at that time and though the 700 has a good weight to power ratio, it was still no comparison to the big V Twins like the Hedlund engines. And last, no it doesn't deserve a spot on this list for its sound. As I wrote before, any 500 grand prix bike sounds much better, as they have much higher compression, thus higher gas velocities etc.

The typical owner was middle-aged, married (hence the sidecar), and swathed in an enormous Barbour coat, plus cork-lined 'pudding-basin' helmet. The second clip of the Derbi Mulhacen is the 125 - I had one. 125 has upswept end can, 659 is straight back. Sound is very different, 125 is muffled on stock can.
There are better sounding single cylinders... Sorry, the older ones are where it's at, but probably has more to do with oem exhaust noise requirements.
Best sound comes from 3 cylinder engines. It's kinda in the middle between high-pitch screaming sound of 4 cylinders, with a deep low grunt of 2 cylinders. Like the daytona 675. Best sounding motorcycle ever made
They might be smaller than 250cc, but I should mention the following: - Suzuki FXR 150 - Honda NSR 150 And some few "hyper" underbone scooters: - Honda Nova Dash 125 - Kawasaki Leostar - Suzuki Raider 150 - Yamaha Sniper 135 and 150
No mention of the Matchless G50 500cc, The AJS 7R 350 cc, or the 350 and 500 BSA Gold Star, the most iconic single cylinder bike ever available to the bike buying public, and still have a cult following to this day.
The Kawasaki based diesel was designed and developed in Britain by a government funded research unit. The BMW F650 engine was a development from the Gilera Nordwest.
How a video on best sounding stock atvs. We own multiple Polaris atvs and our 2015 sportsman 1000 sounds badass. Also our 06 scrambler 500 sounds like some of the bikes on this list
4:39 six-si-si-si-si-single cylinder :D

Nsr 150, krr 150, tzm 150, nova dash, touch, rgr 150, rxz, 125z,
The second clip of the Derbi Mulhacen is the 125 - I had one. 125 has upswept end can, 659 is straight back. Sound is very different, 125 is muffled on stock can.
Awesome video, but any updates on the BRZ/BMW?
soon...
you forgot about the buell blast. and the sidecar one was like the definition of "thumper" engine lol i love it
The Panther for me. My Honda XBR 500 was brilliant.
I love the sound of my Suzuki DR 650 R Dakar, with the Sebring exhaust, she sounds beautiful
Single Cylinders ❤️ Can't wait rippin again 😂
Well as a car guy most of Them sounded like a fart to me but I did like the Ducati
Blake Parker single cylindre motor sound like that. You are right haha
Some sounded like perpetual rod knock :D
Like an awesome fart though well like an awesome queef 😁
There are better sounding single cylinders... Sorry, the older ones are where it's at, but probably has more to do with oem exhaust noise requirements.
Shut the fuck up
Best sound comes from 3 cylinder engines. It's kinda in the middle between high-pitch screaming sound of 4 cylinders, with a deep low grunt of 2 cylinders. Like the daytona 675. Best sounding motorcycle ever made
Where are you from ?
I know it's not a bike, but Honda TRX680 ATV sounds amazing.
Yamaha SZR 660 needed to make this list.
Visioracer try do a video on sqaure layout engines please if you can find out enough vehicles with that format of engine!! Thanks
I will only add suzuki dr big 800
I loved my XL250 single. Used to call her thumper
2:34 yep has an akrapovič on it nice!
I think the best souding single cylindre is the crf 150R, sound so amazing for a so small but powerfull engine! 😍👌
They might be smaller than 250cc, but I should mention the following:
- Suzuki FXR 150
- Honda NSR 150
And some few "hyper" underbone scooters:
- Honda Nova Dash 125
- Kawasaki Leostar
- Suzuki Raider 150
- Yamaha Sniper 135 and 150
my daelim roadwin 250 R sounds incredible with the ixil exaust, it's a shame is not a popular bike tbh
I don't like the sound of singles that much, but a group of Moto3 bikes pulling out of a corner sounds like an old WW2 era bomber. Amazing.
No mention of the Matchless G50 500cc, The AJS 7R 350 cc, or the 350 and 500 BSA Gold Star, the most iconic single cylinder bike ever available to the bike buying public, and still have a cult following to this day.
Please add Royal Enfield bullet 350 as well as bullet 500 next time they also sound amazing In person.
the te 250 has like 55 hp?
1 cylinder sounds like putt-putt, but it's always fun to ride. :D
@VisioRacer you forgot peugeot 103 ! man the best and the fastest mono cylinder in the world with an unbelievable power to weight ratio
Love all the old brit bikes, people put triumph engines on those norton frames and are referred to as a triton
Good stuff, bro, we love you !!!
And for those who cant afford the super modern Husky 701, i present to you the CCM404DS and DRZ400 Also brilliant single cylinders
any single cylinder two stroke sounds nice
Single silinder is very low cost of maintainence. I like it.
Royal Enfield bullet 350 and 500
Still the dug dug is selling million units per year all over the world just because of the sound
C.1967 Ducati 250 (or 350,450) with factory megaphone. Sounds great and its very load.
Thank You. I like single piston bikes. Very good for a begunner.
