Got the game this morning clocked in a decent 10 hours and idk what all the hate is about.. its by far not perfect but its really fun!! I have no regrets, don't let people tell you that this game is bad.. just play it for yourself first and then decide 🤝

You can scroll through the comment directly below you and it's just like 3 knuckledraggers complaining that there's a CHOICE, and their logic is that "choice" is forced on them cause they "need to see it", of being trans and "forced" pronouns. Real brainrot "opinions".
People have standards and expectations. Compared to other games in franchise it is severely underdeveloped. I personally hate illusion of choice. No matter what dialog option you choose, it will sound exactly like all the other options. All “major” plot choices are also a joke. All you can choose is which companion will get hurt or killed, but it has 0 impact on the plot or narration. It was different in past games. This is why people are livid.
Before veilguard never care for a dragon age game after seeing how the combat look and I don’t mind light hearted tone I’m still in my early 20s so sometimes I just wanna enjoy a movie or a game that’s light hearted and not always serious an shit

I agree. As a Dragonage veteran I can say that this game is fun to play and still feels like a Dragonage game at its core. The hate is undeserved and exaggerated.

I think it’s so crazy when game developers locked you out of something like levelling up your gear vendor if you miss those mementos, they should give you access to them later from a vendor or something that’s crazy because it literally will spoil the game for a lot of people

Just finished my nightmare run as a Champion warrior. The rune Deminish (I believe that's what it's called) allows you to apply an AoE weakness. Comboing this with the firebomb works really well, especially if you utilize the helmet that makes everything a 1 min CD. The rune and bomb will be on the same rotation. This freed Neve up to use blizzard which is crazy good. Pairing with Lucanis to detonate Overpower / and provide enhanced damage for free is very potent.
I hate the fact that the game didn't tell me that I can't do some of the quest after recruiting Davrin. In all of the DA games I firstly wanted to gather all party and then go to do all my quests and someone there in the Bioware decided that it would be great to lock party member content to a main plot! Wow thanks! I already love this game, but failing Neve's personal quest because of this shitty decision just makes me soooo sooo mad.... I wanted to do her quest, but when I had all the other companions. Shit. Just why? Why? Why couldn't they tell me that this mission is so important? And I can't really load a save now, cause I would destroy all my 9 hours progress... And I don't know what to do now...
Same. I chose to save Minrathous. Hadn't even explored Treviso yet, or done much exploring at all. Like you I wanted to get all companions first. Frustrating, but oh well next playthrough will be more complete.
I think all that is intentional, after you unlock a new area with the introduction quest, you now have freedom go back and explore to your hearts content. And the game never tells you it but there are certain pathways, obstacles and quests that can be done ONLY when you advance further in the game. That logic is the same as with Inquisition. Also, some quests you get introduced to, but can only be continued after progressing the main story. For instance, just by exploring and doing all the companion personal quests and exploring as much of Arlathan, Minrathus, and Treviso as possible, there's about 3 quests left to do in the crossroads, and those specific 3 can only be progressed by doing the main story. And all that is before recruiting Davrin

Any RPG where your choices are pointless is objectively terrible. Character name is a great example. I was skeptical but this game is actually a lot of fun and has a great story/dialog, the fights are fun and there is a ton of different skills/play styles.
I have enjoy my time with the game my first run took me 65hrs. There are some issues like same body animations for Rook after the first hours which can pull you out a little. A certain companion with some dialog option which for my taste do not belong in dragon age or a fantasy RPG (political propaganda classic of a western game nowdays). The writing in some places feels weak compare to others but the combat, companions and final act are really good. Overall a solid 8 out 10 game.
I think its a solid game so far. The other stuff i can ignore(havent unlocked the qunari yet). But i cant get over how lame the diolouge is outside of Solas. Its not always bad but occasionally it feels like forspoken's writers helped with this.
That’s because most Americans want everything spoon fed to them they don’t get nuance. The writing is at time a little childish but no game I’ve ever played has had marvelous writing throughout the whole game. No game has Oscar level dialogue

This game is fantastic! It's a nice long drawn out story that I've been taking my time with. I think if you are someone like myself who does not have 3-6 hours a day to play, this game is for you.

I wish I saw this video sooner :( before I started mission 6. I usually do everything before I continue and I save before main mission but now, I just wanted to first get all companions and then do the companion mission and boom, after mission 6 two mission are not available anymore. I am so sad and angry cause I for some reason for this game I didn't save before mission 6 and I can't go back to fix this. Well, I will be carefully on next play. There are consequences :D
Do enchants on companion armor affect Rook and if so, are the effects active if the companion is not in current party? Also, do the weapon passives remain active when using the other weapon set? Like staff giving 15% mana regen while wielding the dagger and orb?
Lvl 50 without the Fen'Harel statues. The statues give you one point each to use on your skill tree, I think there's something like 15 statues to find. So you'll have like 65 points total to put into your tree.
Fr, I’m loving it. Story is great, my jaw has DROPPED like twice in 10 hours. The last time that happened in a video game was Jedi: survivor and the last time before that was bio shock infinite’s ending. Basically to say that’s really rare for me.
I have been doing side quests but I faced enemies of 34 level and I am 12, not sure how I did that, but I could not beat it up and the battle lasted for very long time.
You probably figured this out already, but for later viewers/readers: Some things are walled off by your progress in the main storyline, otherwise you can wander into a crazy strong enemy. If you’re reasonably competent at the fight mechanics you won’t know you’re swinging above your weight class until you find yourself in a multi-hour boss fight 😂 That said, if a quest or even just later parts of a quest are recommended for higher levels it will be noted in the quest menu in red under that quest. With the right party build and a lot (and I mean a lot) of patience it is possible to take enemies at a significantly higher level than you.
People can hate all they want. This game is insanely fun and I’m like 15 hours in and haven’t had any forced propaganda yet. As for it not being dark I’m confused because it’s hella dark and some enemies legit freak you out. Some of the bosses/elites in the world are a shock to run into and are super deadly. Honestly just feels like Dragon Age. New coat of paint but same game deep down.
You clearly didn't play Origins then. Finding out how the Darkspawn make more of their own was legitimately disturbing. Barring how ( subjectively, I will admit ) ugly the darkspawn design is in this game, there has been nothing remotely close to the Broodmother reveal for me `14ish hours in.

No my character looks fine everything is in proportion. Now am sure you can make a character with a huge ass head but every character including my own matches their body. I think sometimes because of armor types characters look a little fat but that’s about it.

If I can put up with every single freaking male companion openly hitting on my straight elven dude in BG3 and Aloy being pushed right at that snotty tart throughout the entirety of the Forbidden West DLC, I can sure as hell deal with a super confused Qunari tomboy for a whole two minutes.

I didn't realize that little detail until a couple of hours ago, its only elf alters give increase health, the wolf alters give an extra skill point. So yeah, its very important to farm the wolf alters in every location
I am 51 yr old female and have been the biggest dragonage fan since the first,playing each game multiple times with different classes and romance options in the past with each game, was huge fan.. this is so hard to admit that this such a huge disappointment. The story, look and feel, for me has ruined the franchise. Ive played about 10hrs and this is not what i wanted it to be. They /them have ruined the game for me. I regret buying this game. Feel like waiting 10 years for this has been a waste. I so wanted the journey on dragonage to make me feel like the past ones did.. but it does not. I'm enjoying it more than the gameplay of 2 and Inquisition. The story, not so much. They've never approached the heights of Origins world design, characters, and story writing with any of the subsequent releases, though.
The lack of real dialog choices and having to be the good savior is weak. The combat is pretty good but it’s everything else that is like nails on a chalk board bad. The game talks to you like one would a child. It is terrible. If you wanna get it on a sale then maybe but it is really tedious outside of combat.
Every fucking Dragon Age game is like this there are no evil play through like in BG3. You can’t choose to become blighted and take over the world bullshit. In Orgins your always herald as the savior of Ferelden same in DA2 and Inquisition. I admit some of the dialogue lacks nuance or is somewhat corny from time to time but it’s not that bad. Apologies if how I articulated that confused you. This game lacks that edge so whatever. I have my opinion and you have yours. You like the game then keep enjoying it. I’m just saying the writing and dialogue aren’t that great compared to previous iterations. The art style is also a bit of a strange choice as is the weird makeover they gave the qunari. Overall the game is not what I expected as a follow up to DA Inquisition and for ME it is a game you grab on a sale. I have more gripes about some game design choices but it’s whatever.

TBH I wasn’t gonna buy DA the transveil but I was bored. It’s actually really fun, tons of secrets to explore, combat is fun and the ability to skip every conversation and cut scene is a bonus. So far I would give it a 8 or 9 so far. Maybe it sucks later on but so far I’m having a blast.

Any RPG where your choices are pointless is objectively terrible. Character name is a great example. It doesn't matter what you choose as your name because almost every character in the game is just going to refer to you as Rook anyway. That's just terrible.

I can't see what is going on in the battles. Is there a way to turn of all the glowy things, damage number cascades and particle effects?
I was skeptical but this game is actually a lot of fun and has a great story/dialog, the fights are fun and there is a ton of different skills/play styles.

@Touchin-Grass everyone is different I'm not one to join in hating a game, I'm enjoying it everyone is different you don't obviously that's okay.
I have enjoy my time with the game my first run took me 65hrs. There are some issues like same body animations for Rook after the first hours which can pull you out a little. A certain companion with some dialog option which for my taste do not belong in dragon age or a fantasy RPG (political propaganda classic of a western game nowdays). The writing in some places feels weak compare to others but the combat, companions and final act are really good. Overall a solid 8 out 10 game.
I think its a solid game so far. The other stuff i can ignore(havent unlocked the qunari yet). But i cant get over how lame the diolouge is outside of Solas. Its not always bad but occasionally it feels like forspoken's writers helped with this.
They were more concerned with the message than the writing.

People complaining about the writing being worse than previous dragon age games clearly just don’t know what good writing is. The franchise has always been weak writing. Cool lore for sure, but never strong writing from a technical standpoint.
This game is fantastic! It's a nice long drawn out story that I've been taking my time with. I think if you are someone like myself who does not have 3-6 hours a day to play, this game is for you.

I wish I saw this video sooner :( before I started mission 6. I usually do everything before I continue and I save before main mission but now, I just wanted to first get all companions and then do the companion mission and boom, after mission 6 two mission are not available anymore. I am so sad and angry cause I for some reason for this game I didn't save before mission 6 and I can't go back to fix this. Well, I will be carefully on next play. There are consequences :D

Level 60 is max?? Every search I made says lvl 50 is max.
Lvl 50 without the Fen'Harel statues. The statues give you one point each to use on your skill tree, I think there's something like 15 statues to find. So you'll have like 65 points total to put into your tree.

I have been doing side quests but I faced enemies of 34 level and I am 12, not sure how I did that, but I could not beat it up and the battle lasted for very long time.
You probably figured this out already, but for later viewers/readers:
Some things are walled off by your progress in the main storyline, otherwise you can wander into a crazy strong enemy. If you’re reasonably competent at the fight mechanics you won’t know you’re swinging above your weight class until you find yourself in a multi-hour boss fight 😂
That said, if a quest or even just later parts of a quest are recommended for higher levels it will be noted in the quest menu in red under that quest.
With the right party build and a lot (and I mean a lot) of patience it is possible to take enemies at a significantly higher level than you.

As for it not being dark I’m confused because it’s hella dark and some enemies legit freak you out. Some of the bosses/elites in the world are a shock to run into and are super deadly.

No my character looks fine everything is in proportion. Now am sure you can make a character with a huge ass head but every character including my own matches their body. I think sometimes because of armor types characters look a little fat but that’s about it.

If I can put up with every single freaking male companion openly hitting on my straight elven dude in BG3 and Aloy being pushed right at that snotty tart throughout the entirety of the Forbidden West DLC, I can sure as hell deal with a super confused Qunari tomboy for a whole two minutes.

I didn't realize that little detail until a couple of hours ago, its only elf alters give increase health, the wolf alters give an extra skill point. So yeah, its very important to farm the wolf alters in every location

I am 51 yr old female and have been the biggest dragonage fan since the first,playing each game multiple times with different classes and romance options in the past with each game, was huge fan.. this is so hard to admit that this such a huge disappointment. The story, look and feel, for me has ruined the franchise. Ive played about 10hrs and this is not what i wanted it to be. They /them have ruined the game for me. I regret buying this game. Feel like waiting 10 years for this has been a waste. I so wanted the journey on dragonage to make me feel like the past ones did.. but it does not. I don't even have the want in me to play more of it.. sad and disappointed prior fan. A end of a ara. I hope they never make another game as bad as this one. I for one will never pre order again.

@connordutton674 i don't like how they wrote the story, how they executed it, the way they baby you along with every aspect, I don't like how you interact with your party, that they seem so dull with little variations of what you have to say, have a choice to even say, it's a direct cut path to really nothing interesting, I don't like the simple concepts. For me it is not what a dragonage game should be. Let alone the agenda crap, fantasy games dont need to be schooled , be what ya want without the bs.. lacks in every area for me ..except the hair. I'm enjoying it more than the gameplay of 2 and Inquisition. The story, not so much. They've never approached the heights of Origins world design, characters, and story writing with any of the subsequent releases, though.

The lack of real dialog choices and having to be the good savior is weak. The combat is pretty good but it’s everything else that is like nails on a chalk board bad. The game talks to you like one would a child. It is terrible. If you wanna get it on a sale then maybe but it is really tedious outside of combat.
Every fucking Dragon Age game is like this there are no evil play through like in BG3. You can’t choose to become blighted and take over the world bullshit. In Orgins your always herald as the savior of Ferelden same in DA2 and Inquisition. I admit some of the dialogue lacks nuance or is somewhat corny from time to time but it’s not that bad. Most of you talking crap about it haven’t even played it and are simply regurgitating what you have seen from other people talking about that probably haven’t even played it.
@connordutton674 I bought the game day one and have played a solid 15 hours. In the last DA game the dialogue choices carried more weight and had real edge to them. Apologies if how I articulated that confused you. This game lacks that edge so whatever. I have my opinion and you have yours. You like the game then keep enjoying it. I’m just saying the writing and dialogue aren’t that great compared to previous iterations. The art style is also a bit of a strange choice as is the weird makeover they gave the qunari. Overall the game is not what I expected as a follow up to DA Inquisition and for ME it is a game you grab on a sale. I have more gripes about some game design choices but it’s whatever.

TBH I wasn’t gonna buy DA the transveil but I was bored. It’s actually really fun, tons of secrets to explore, combat is fun and the ability to skip every conversation and cut scene is a bonus. So far I would give it a 8 or 9 so far. Maybe it sucks later on but so far I’m having a blast.
