The crazy thing about tying rides to intellectual property is that by the time the rides associated with certain franchises are completed, they are no longer popular. Haunted Mansion, Soarin and Pirates don't need constant rethemes because they do not rely on specific movies or characters.
I don’t personally care if their attractions are based on IP but they need to be faster bringing them online, have more of them, and update them from time to time to stay relevant. Rides don’t have to be identical to the version from 50 years ago no matter how nostalgic some people get.
I mean, the movie Dinosaur hasn't been popular for decades, but that ride still slaps. And yes, it's being re-themed, but to an IP that's already over 40 years old and still relevant, so that argument doesn't really hold up. Yes there are classic non-IP rides that last, but there are just as many IP-based rides that are popular too, such as Peter Pan, Tower of Terror, Snow White/Mine Train, etc. IP-popularity has little correlation to ride popularity or enjoyment. Heck, there is a whole contingency of people still upset about Splash Mountain, and that IP isn't even available anymore
I would love to see Tarzan and Jungle Boom incorporated into Animal Kingdom. We need more little boy attractions since MK is so Princess heavy. I am a die hard Disney fan and have 3 boys who love it too. I feel like there is classic IP that can be brought into the park and stand against a lot of this new stuff that doesn’t have as much longevity.
It has become increasingly evident that Disney does not have any interest in making stuff for boys. Marvel and Lucasfilm, two companies Disney purchased in order to create more content for boys, are becoming more and more female and LGBT centric, which is driving away male fans in droves and into the arms of anime and videogames.
As horrible as it may sound raffikis planet watch area would be better for zootopia. Train going into zootopia like in the movie make sense and tha animals and classes there still work
Well Dinosaur is getting old and some of the effects and Dinos aren't working as well as they used to. Last time I went there the main Dino wasn't there.

There's one main problem with putting an Encanto-themed area in Animal Kingdom, it's not really animal-themed enough! I mean, there's the donkeys and that boy who could communicate with animals and Bruno's rats, but that's not enough to warrant giving it a spot in Animal Kingdom.
I totally agree. Encanto is better off in Magic Kingdom. They should leave Dinoland USA in Animal Kingdom. They should refurbish the area instead of demolishing it completely. I love Dinosaur!!! Why get rid of it!!! URGH!!!
I may be of the less popular opinion… but I think I prefer when they create lands that are based on a new theme, not one of the movies. I don’t mind if they add rides or experiences in that are related to a movie/character, like Lion King in the Africa section, but I feel like there was more creativity and better immersion when it was a theme with a completely new backstory, such as Expedition Everest in Asia. The whole story behind that is awesome ❤
Agreed. They will end up spending money later to update a ride or land. Just do an open basic theme. That’s what makes the original rides so great and timeless!

Don’t get me wrong, I like encanto, I think it being in Epcot is fun and it makes sense. Magic Kingdom even makes sense. Encanto in AK makes like 0 sense to me. I understand we want to expand things in the parks but can we do things that make sense, please?
I think it was presented wrongly. I expect that there’s going to be a Tropical Americas Continent land , just like there’s an Africa and an Asia land with themed rides, and the themed ride in this case will be Encanto.

Is lower attendance really the reason why only one water park is open at a time??? I thought it was a cost saving measure after covid? This is the first time I have hear this low attendance theory. Since we are HUGE fans of waterparks, and go multiple times on our trips, it has always bugged me that TL and BB aren't open at the same time. Really hope that changes in the future!

Disney needs to actually expand AK, refreshing Dinoland with a new theme isn't going to solve the "half-day park" problem. The most obvious place would be to redevelop the back stage area between Pandora and Africa.

before building new stuff, why not refurb the current rides in MK to an excellent level….? For example It’s a small world, peter pan, big thunder, space mountain, and even haunted mansion, they are way behind disneyland quality. Improve the quality first and then build new stuff
I would like to see a Mediterranean themed section in Animal Kingdom based off of Luca. Themed loosely around Italy and Greece. This could highlight animals of the ocean.

I think bringing a Zootopia land to either Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom in Orlando FL would be a great idea. And bringing Journey of imagination back to it's original version but better updated version. Reimagineering Spaceship Earth at Epcot and adding new dark rides similar to Remy's Ratatouille World Showcase would bring more business to Disney Orlando. ❤❤❤
The new Disability Access Service guidelines will severely change my park experience forever. Disney is now FORCING me to have either a wheelchair or scooter to use the parks because physical disability no longer qualified for help with standing in line. I think it totally sucks that they're adding yet another expense to our trip.
I'm dreading applying for the das pass for this year. It hurts for me to sit or stand for more than 5 mins so keeping moving is best for me. I really don't want to have to use a wheelchair or have extreme anxiety issues due to not being able to leave the que quick enough for the toilet or nearly passing out from standing still for too long 😢
@@Katie-pw2zo Sadly, they no longer consider physical disability as qualifying for a DAS pass. It totally sucks! Here's a quote directly from the WDW website: "DAS is intended to accommodate only those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar disorder, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time."
I understand that DVC members and the deluxe resorts are bringing in most of the revenue, however, what if these families have other vacation investments and destinations in mind? A lot of your upper class families are vacationing overseas or doing cruises. Disney parks, the heat, the wait times, constantly on your phone with genie plus, and transportation to and from the parks might not be their cup of tea.
Not a problem for us. If we want to do Disney, we use one of our two contracts. We've also used points for Aulani in Hawaii. If we want something non-Disney, I rent my points via an intermediary, make the $$$ from the renter using my points and use those bucks towards the vacation I want to take. Easy peasey.

Given Disney’s track record for announcing big things and then either not delivering them or radically down grading them… I don’t know many Disney regulars get excited anymore. They said they were gonna do a bunch of kewl stuff for the 50th. Then they ripped apart Epcot… and yeah the global timeout happened, but then they ditched most of what they had planned and the construction dragged along another 3 years. They missed the 50th. They missed Epcot’s anniversary. When they finally took the walls down it was a big whiff with Communi-Shack. Meanwhile they essentially paid their closest competitor through the Hulu debacle to fund its biggest expansion yet. Disney has serious HUB these days.
If they arnt going to fix dinoland then i say emporers new groove. Pull the lever kronk. Heck i still say we need an evolving/rotating theme area, or even 5th gate, that changes every day with ride themes. Have it based on "lesser" titles or ip. A kind of island of missfit toys. With the screen projection styles they use it would be simple enough. Rides for meet the robiinsons, emporers new grove, rescuers, chicken little, hercules, a different stitch ride. Different content every day, put down the phone and explore. They have plenty of stock to choose from
I wonder what disney will do to follow up on the opening of epic universe. I think the beyond thunder mountain expansion is their ace in the hole. Healthy competition is good for business.

I hope they don't put Encanto in Animal Kingdom. I prefer original ideas. However, if they use IP, jungle book or zootopia would make more sense. I would love a villains land-but honestly it would make the halloween events less special.I just hope what ever they add is spectacular, not some walk thru or screen based attraction.
The new AK land should be presented differently. I expect that there’s going to be a Tropical Central/South Americas Continent land , just like there’s an Africa and an Asia land with themed rides, and the themed ride in this case will be Encanto. This is not going to be an “Encanto land”. It will follow the same theme as the other continents, please don’t focus on the Encanto part and look at the big big picture : another continent, with animals and themed rides from that continent, just like Africa and Asia, which fits PERFECTLY in AK.

Hopefully the news video on Saturday is AWESOME 🤞🤞 The vet came out to put my brother and sister in law's dog down. Bear lived a GREAT life. He was 12 years old but unfortunately got cancer towards the end of last year, as well as lost most of his vision and hearing. He was a layed back dog but he was SOOOOOOOO LOVEABLE. He was the guard dog after his sister Maggie passed away. The female blue healers are usually the top dog but after she passed away Bear took her place. Both of them did a great job Rest in peace Bear. We'll miss you buddy🐕😍😘🌈
New stuff is great but it would be nice if Disney would also modernize older attractions on a regular basis. I know nostalgia is strong with some but a lot of rides are ridiculously dated - especially given the premium prices Disney charges. Hopefully Universal pushes Disney to step their game up on rides and other attractions.
There is a list: Peter Pan needs TLC. It is falling apart, Small World is not necessary honestly. Tom Sawyer is outdated that area can be reimagined, for sure. That entire are in Hollywood studios with Star Wars Launch Bay! That would be great for 90’s Disney cartoon animation and meet and greets with a possible playground for the littles on the backside of Toy Story land…just to name a few…

Spaceship Earth, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Gran Fiesta, What If Labs, Tom Sawyer Island, Swiss Family Tree House, Living With the Land, TommorowLand Speedway, People Mover, The Seas with Nemo, Carousel of Progress all come to mind right away. Lots more I’m not thinking of too. The rides are honestly mostly the weakest part of then parks and most are no where near cutting edge anymore.

I heard back in early 2000’s talk about a Villain land or park was possible to come and to have more big rides. At that time there wasn’t as many big rides in any of the parks.
The biggest change I have ever noticed was apparently all those cast members who left in 2020 were replaced by non English speaking employees and or rude people! That "extra magic" that used to be the difference over Universal is gone!
I was looking into a few Disneyland Paris videos and saw that they have something similar to Genie+ over there but it’s a one time expensive payment and you can ride every ride once with little to no wait in line. I believe Disney should add this feature to the genie+ giving you more options towards genie+. Also can DFB do a few videos of Paris Disney. I see non on yall list
I didn't realize Indiana Jones was still a popular franchise. I thought it died long ago. It never really interested me, though. I think it doesn't really fit in.
@jeanettesmith765 The last movie was a huge flop with a $100+ million dollar loss. It just doesn't make much sense to me to include it. It seems odd to put something so old with something like Encanto. I think Coco would make more sense. Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca, and maybe Onward. Maybe scrap the Tropical America's theme altogether to focus on better, newer movies.
@hplovinmama631 Coco would be nice in Epcot's Mexico Pavillion. Since the movie does take place there and Raya could be in the China one as some kind of Rollercoaster/Water ride Attraction, kind of what like Atlantis in seaworld is.

I only mean my comment to be educational, not mean or anything like that. Based on what you’ve said about DVC, I’m assuming you aren’t a member. Paying dues isn’t paying for a room twice. It’s equal to only one or two nights that covers an entire year. We have locked in our rate so while non members pay the current and always increasing rate, our rate is protected and largely discounted, basically. For guests who like deluxe resorts and like to visit WDW, DVC is a great option!

If you stay at Disney you can’t afford to go anywhere else like sea world or universal. So I doubt them offering a free water park has anything to do with it. Plus who is going to use it? Why not offer something family can use? Like free park tickets or free breakfast at resorts? Plenty of nicer places to stay in Orlando than Disney. Plus I can go and stay at all inclusive resorts in beautiful tropical islands and have more fun.
Why would anyone get excited about anything Disney says they are planning in the future? They have an awful track record of either over selling what they are going to do, or flat out lying Prior to the shutdown in 2020 Epcot had a really cool preview center showing all the new and exciting things coming to Epcot. 4 years later almost none of what they showed and celebrated is going to ever happen. Even when a project they annonced is completed they do not match their early, or even sometimes late, concept art. Look at what they said Tiana would look like vs what they actually did. Meanwhile, look at announcements and concept art for Epic Universe...people were able to tell what was being built from drone footage because it matched almost 100% what was shown in concept art.

Went at least once every other year and were season pass holders when we lived in Florida when the pandemic happened. We were in the parks the last day Disney was open before the closure. I have enjoyed DFB and used them as a resource for a long time. Still check in from time to time to see how they are representing DW. Pretty honestly and accurately. Is lower attendance really the reason why only one water park is open at a time??? I thought it was a cost saving measure after covid? This is the first time I have hear this low attendance theory. Since we are HUGE fans of waterparks, and go multiple times on our trips, it has always bugged me that TL and BB aren't open at the same time. Really hope that changes in the future!

At D23, I’d like to see Disney announce a new Disney theme park to be built in Australia, hear that the Cars ride in Disney California adventure park will be brought to Disney World, dark kingdom would be great in Disney World with Malaficents castle and one of the rides to be the Alice in wonderland from Disneyland.
A villains area themed to Descendants Aisle of the Lost wouldn’t be too dark and would be a great thematic place for villains to roam!

Disney needs to actually expand AK, refreshing Dinoland with a new theme isn't going to solve the "half-day park" problem. The most obvious place would be to redevelop the back stage area between Pandora and Africa.

before building new stuff, why not refurb the current rides in MK to an excellent level….? For example It’s a small world, peter pan, big thunder, space mountain, and even haunted mansion, they are way behind disneyland quality. Improve the quality first and then build new stuff
I would like to see a Mediterranean themed section in Animal Kingdom based off of Luca. Themed loosely around Italy and Greece. This could highlight animals of the ocean.

I think bringing a Zootopia land to either Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom in Orlando FL would be a great idea. And bringing Journey of imagination back to it's original version but better updated version. Reimagineering Spaceship Earth at Epcot and adding new dark rides similar to Remy's Ratatouille World Showcase would bring more business to Disney Orlando. ❤❤❤
The new Disability Access Service guidelines will severely change my park experience forever. Disney is now FORCING me to have either a wheelchair or scooter to use the parks because physical disability no longer qualified for help with standing in line. I think it totally sucks that they're adding yet another expense to our trip.
I'm dreading applying for the das pass for this year. It hurts for me to sit or stand for more than 5 mins so keeping moving is best for me. I really don't want to have to use a wheelchair or have extreme anxiety issues due to not being able to leave the que quick enough for the toilet or nearly passing out from standing still for too long 😢
@@Katie-pw2zo Sadly, they no longer consider physical disability as qualifying for a DAS pass. It totally sucks! Here's a quote directly from the WDW website: "DAS is intended to accommodate only those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar disorder, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time."

I understand that DVC members and the deluxe resorts are bringing in most of the revenue, however, what if these families have other vacation investments and destinations in mind? A lot of your upper class families are vacationing overseas or doing cruises. Disney parks, the heat, the wait times, constantly on your phone with genie plus, and transportation to and from the parks might not be their cup of tea.
Not a problem for us. If we want to do Disney, we use one of our two contracts. We've also used points for Aulani in Hawaii. If we want something non-Disney, I rent my points via an intermediary, make the $$$ from the renter using my points and use those bucks towards the vacation I want to take. Easy peasey.

Given Disney’s track record for announcing big
things and then either not delivering them or radically down grading them… I don’t know many Disney regulars get excited anymore. They said they were gonna do a bunch of kewl stuff for the 50th. Then they ripped apart Epcot… and yeah the global timeout happened, but then they ditched most of what they had planned and the construction dragged along another 3 years. They missed the 50th. They missed Epcot’s anniversary. When they finally took the walls down it was a big whiff with Communi-Shack. Meanwhile they essentially paid their closest competitor through the Hulu debacle to fund its biggest expansion yet. Disney has serious HUB these days.
If they arnt going to fix dinoland then i say emporers new groove. Pull the lever kronk. Heck i still say we need an evolving/rotating theme area, or even 5th gate, that changes every day with ride themes. Have it based on "lesser" titles or ip. A kind of island of missfit toys. With the screen projection styles they use it would be simple enough. Rides for meet the robiinsons, emporers new grove, rescuers, chicken little, hercules, a different stitch ride. Different content every day, put down the phone and explore. They have plenty of stock to choose from

The new AK land should be presented differently. I expect that there’s going to be a Tropical Central/South Americas Continent land , just like there’s an Africa and an Asia land with themed rides, and the themed ride in this case will be Encanto. This is not going to be an “Encanto land”. It will follow the same theme as the other continents, please don’t focus on the Encanto part and look at the big big picture : another continent, with animals and themed rides from that continent, just like Africa and Asia, which fits PERFECTLY in AK.

The vet came out to put my brother and sister in law's dog down. Bear lived a GREAT life. He was 12 years old but unfortunately got cancer towards the end of last year, as well as lost most of his vision and hearing. He was a layed back dog but he was SOOOOOOOO LOVEABLE. He was the guard dog after his sister Maggie passed away. The female blue healers are usually the top dog but after she passed away Bear took her place. Both of them did a great job

New stuff is great but it would be nice if Disney would also modernize older attractions on a regular basis. I know nostalgia is strong with some but a lot of rides are ridiculously dated - especially given the premium prices Disney charges.
Hopefully Universal pushes Disney to step their game up on rides and other attractions.

There is a list: Peter Pan needs TLC. It is falling apart, Small World is not necessary honestly. Tom Sawyer is outdated that area can be reimagined, for sure. That entire are in Hollywood studios with Star Wars Launch Bay! That would be great for 90’s Disney cartoon animation and meet and greets with a possible playground for the littles on the backside of Toy Story land…just to name a few…

Spaceship Earth, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Gran Fiesta, What If Labs, Tom Sawyer Island, Swiss Family Tree House, Living With the Land, TommorowLand Speedway, People Mover, The Seas with Nemo, Carousel of Progress all come to mind right away. Lots more I’m not thinking of too. The rides are honestly mostly the weakest part of then parks and most are no where near cutting edge anymore.

Dinoland USA leaving is heartbreaking, particularly because Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasure is one of my favorite places in all of DW.
Still love Disneyworld, we’re going to Paris in sept and still excited to return to WDW, BUT it seems most updates are always negative or neutral/don’t care. Pirate lounge should be great tho.
I heard back in early 2000’s talk about a Villain land or park was possible to come and to have more big rides. At that time there wasn’t as many big rides in any of the parks.
The biggest change I have ever noticed was apparently all those cast members who left in 2020 were replaced by non English speaking employees and or rude people! That "extra magic" that used to be the difference over Universal is gone!
I was looking into a few Disneyland Paris videos and saw that they have something similar to Genie+ over there but it’s a one time expensive payment and you can ride every ride once with little to no wait in line. I believe Disney should add this feature to the genie+ giving you more options towards genie+. Also can DFB do a few videos of Paris Disney. I see non on yall list
I didn't realize Indiana Jones was still a popular franchise. I thought it died long ago. It never really interested me, though. I think it doesn't really fit in.

@jeanettesmith765 The last movie was a huge flop with a $100+ million dollar loss. It just doesn't make much sense to me to include it. It seems odd to put something so old with something like Encanto. I think Coco would make more sense. Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca, and maybe Onward. Maybe scrap the Tropical America's theme altogether to focus on better, newer movies.
@hplovinmama631 Coco would be nice in Epcot's Mexico Pavillion. Since the movie does take place there and Raya could be in the China one as some kind of Rollercoaster/Water ride Attraction, kind of what like Atlantis in seaworld is.

I only mean my comment to be educational, not mean or anything like that. Based on what you’ve said about DVC, I’m assuming you aren’t a member. Paying dues isn’t paying for a room twice. It’s equal to only one or two nights that covers an entire year. We have locked in our rate so while non members pay the current and always increasing rate, our rate is protected and largely discounted, basically. For guests who like deluxe resorts and like to visit WDW, DVC is a great option!

If you stay at Disney you can’t afford to go anywhere else like sea world or universal. So I doubt them offering a free water park has anything to do with it. Plus who is going to use it? Why not offer something family can use? Like free park tickets or free breakfast at resorts? Plenty of nicer places to stay in Orlando than Disney. Plus I can go and stay at all inclusive resorts in beautiful tropical islands and have more fun.

Why would anyone get excited about anything Disney says they are planning in the future? They have an awful track record of either over selling what they are going to do, or flat out lying
Prior to the shutdown in 2020 Epcot had a really cool preview center showing all the new and exciting things coming to Epcot.
4 years later almost none of what they showed and celebrated is going to ever happen.
Even when a project they annonced is completed they do not match their early, or even sometimes late, concept art.
Look at what they said Tiana would look like vs what they actually did.
Meanwhile, look at announcements and concept art for Epic Universe...people were able to tell what was being built from drone footage because it matched almost 100% what was shown in concept art.
There is no magic there anymore. I'm sorry to say but Iger has run it into the ground. All he cares about is money

My family has been huge Disney World fans in the past. Went at least once every other year and were season pass holders when we lived in Florida when the pandemic happened.
We were in the parks the last day Disney was open before the closure.
I have enjoyed DFB and used them as a resource for a long time. Still check in from time to time to see how they are representing DW. Pretty honestly and accurately.
So yeah, I'm thinking I can ask why after the past 4 years ANYONE would believe a word they say.

That’s Primeval Whirl! It used to be in Dinoland back in the day, but they tore the coaster down in 2021.
