- welcome back to ep. 5 of the podcast where i do some digging into the alleged child grooming controversy taking place in the nanowrimo community this year, nano's stance on abortion, and we take a deeper dive into the DEI initiatives that are posted on their website. this is my first episode doing this sort of commentary, so make sure to let me know if you like this video and to share your thoughts about what's being going on and how you feel about nano after all of this.

Thank you for this podcast! I personally have never used the NaNoWriMo website for similar reasons and so did not know of the more recent altercations. (However I do a personal November writing challenge on my own. Even though if I win it will not be "official", I am fine with that.) The reason why I do not support them is because of their non-logical, harmful and left-leaning views which they openly display on their website. I looked into their ethics before making an account, and consequently didn't end up making one at all. Thank you for bringing awareness to these issues and for speaking out boldly for the truth.
Good on you for doing your research before joining the nano website! I was super psyched at the time to dedicate myself to writing that I didn’t know anything about their political leanings until I started getting their emails, and this was the last straw for me. You don’t need NaNoWriMo to validate your writing achievements, and I myself plan to have my own personal writing challenge come November.
