Myself and a bunch from Dundalk (including Liam Reilly) used to arrive in on Uncle Leo's about once a month on Sunday lunch to play music. The family (Clannad) used to join in though they were studying jazz at the time. Great stories from that time are still told. What a nice bunch of people - still are.

I've loved Clannad since first hearing of them in 1978 or so. Learned all songs I could that they sang in English, had the privilege of seeing them perfom while living in Dun Laohaire in 1982. Will always have my respect and loyalty.
Great, a wonderful performance. I always wanted to see Clannad. There is an Irish festival in St Paul, where famous groups sometimes appear. I think Altan was there once. Perhaps Clannad will come too someday. When there is no danger from Covid, of course.

Those who are acerbic in their comments here do not understand Clannad, have no knowledge of Teach Leo, and would not be able to appreciate the uniqueness of Gaoth Dobhair. Wonderful memories of this area from times in the Irish college back in the 70s., and seeing Clannad perform in The Amharclann.
I guess that the parishioners in Donegal, had already listened to Máire so many times since she was a child, that is nothing new to them! Lucky Bastards!
They are in Leo Tavern so you should expect a bit of noise from the audience. Moya is lovely singer, and an even lovelier woman. I had the pleasure of seeing Clannad live in Amsterdam in the spring of 1985. I had the pleasure of seeing Moya Brennan singing solo in the Somerville Theatre, Somerville, Massachusetts in 2004 I think. The Amsterdam concert had about 10,000 people. The Somerville concert had maybe 200 people, but Moya was grateful and graceful as ever.

She still sounds like she did back in the mid 70's when we used to go see them at the project ars centre in dublin
