I don’t know if they do the same for plasma donation but for full blood donation, they take a blood sample from your finger to monitor hemoglobin. If your hemoglobin is low, you can’t donate.
The first time I tried to donate I almost faint and they had to stop the donation. Years later I tried again and everything was fine. It’s interesting how your body can react so different in each donation. Even though I’m scared each time, it is an extremely rewarding process. Totally worth it :)

Absolutely! I can only imagine how fulfilling it must feel to share life.
Oh, I have plenty of experience with my body acting differently every couple of days! LOL So many external factors influence our bodies, telling how we'll react to something like blood donation is practically unpredictable.

I can't donate blood either because I have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), also known as sticky blood syndrome. My blood forms clots spontaneously so I can't donate it to anybody else. But I admire people who donate blood and I encourage it among all my friends and acquaintances. My parents regularly donated blood until they became elderly. Kudos to Gabi!

Wow, your parents sound like amazing folks! We share the same disappointment, though, about not giving back. Still, encouraging others counts for something!

SGT Ted E. Bear?? Yes! When we arrived, they had just published that taking pictures with it was allowed. We were in quarantine though :-\ so we missed our chance with him all dressed for Christmas.
