RIP Cusinart Air Fryer Oven Welcome Hamilton Beach SureCrisp Air Fryer Oven

- My expensive Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven died after a year and about 3 months. And on top of that right before Thanksgiving :(. This appliance has been a major staple in my kitchen. I expected longer life from such a well known and high end brand. The small button behind the door that tells it when to turn on an off started malfunctioning. As a result when the door is opened the oven would turn on and when it was closed it would turn off.
After some searching for a well rated brand and some margin shopping I came across this Hamilton Beach Sure-Crisp Air Fryer Oven. It was on sale at Target for $99.99 and with the Target RedCard Debit Card ended up being under $100 with the extra 5% off. Join me as I unbox this magnificent creation lol. Also look for more videos once I prepare a dish in it.
Don't forget to subscribe before and share any comments below. I've included the hyperlink to Target's website for the oven. Which it is still on sale ;). This would make a great Christmas gift.

Just purchased today. Gonna try it out tomorrow. It does fit comfortably on the counter.
I think you will enjoy it. I rarely use my oven now. It's so convenient and easy to use.
best video ever helped me set mine up right THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much I’m glad you found the video helpful.
Very nice review.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@universejarvis9229 I bought it because of your review and it’s awesome. Thank you!
I’m glad you enjoyed the review and are enjoying the oven. It’s a great appliance super convenient and eliminates needing a traditional oven for most things.
What have you cooked in this so far? Would you recommend for chops, drumsticks and steaks?
@antonio Hernandez I don’t use this oven anymore since moving. I bought two different Gourma ones I mainly use now. I still have it though I just tend to try out lots of different appliances over time.
But to your questions. I did a lot of fish in it. A rotisserie once. I’ve cooked thick pork chops in it and chicken. I don’t eat much red meat so no steak. It’s a versatile oven and you can cook most everything you would una normal one if size permits and of course there’s the air fry feature. Hope this helps.
Can you specified any problems with the Hamilton beach
I have encountered no issues with this product. Just keep in mind as mentioned previously it cooks slower than some versions that are made differently.
Hello, I’m thinking of purchasing this as a housewarming gift for my friend but wanted more honest information & reviews before buying. Were you able to make follow -up videos on this product ? I can’t seem to find any videos . Thanks :)
@Pixy Mixy I never got around to a video using the oven. I will say after using it for a while it’s a solid oven that cooks well and offers a great level
of control over what you are cooking. The rotisserie feature is also nice. I have switched to the Gourma French Door air fryer oven since moving.
@@universejarvis9229 Thanks for the speedy reply . Do you find that you prefer the Gourma over the HB ? My concern is that often time multi functional products don’t usually do all the functions in a high quality manner.
@Pixy Mixy Between the two I prob prefer the Hamilton Beach one. All those presets are fine but I find the temps can sometimes be off and over cook your food. Meaning you have to watch carefully. I never really worried about that with the Hamilton Beach one. I mainly got the Gourma one as I liked the French doors. And it was a black Friday deal at Walmart.
Thank you for the video. How is the performance compared with the Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven you used to have? I heard the temperature of this Hamilton Beach is not as hot as it claims to be. Have you experienced that issue? Thanks.
@Francis Wong I never had any temp issues with Hamilton Beach one. In my opinion it’s far better than the Cusinart considering how much I paid for it for it to start malfunctioning.
It’s easy to use and cooks slowly but throughly.
Bake and warm modes switched to celcius. How do I get them back to Fahrenheit?
Love your review! Subbed! I have the Willsence toaster oven with convection. Looks like a Breville.
Thanks for subscribing 😊. And glad you enjoyed the video. I actually found a Microwave that is an air fryer and convection oven and it's amazing.
@@universejarvis9229 think I've seen that one. Pretty awesome!!
I haven’t used it much for the other features yet I have to start playing with them. I did bake biscuits in it right after I got it.
@@universejarvis9229 enjoy it and tell us poor people how it is.
We will all take the journey together I’m going to cook something in it and post a video.
I never got the rotisserie parts. I’m guessing it’s a different model.
That’s possible I’ve honestly only ever seen the version I have locally here.
@@universejarvis9229 what is the model number?
@flbeachinggirl Not really sure that was years ago
Would you recommend the hamilton beach oven?? I'm looking to buy one
I would definitely recommend this oven. It cooks slower but I feel it adds more control to how your food cooks. It also has a rotisserie feature which can come in handy.
@@universejarvis9229 have you had any problem with it?
None whatsoever it’s been reliable.
Had a cusinart myself got rid of it only had it for 6 months got it from Macy’s ,just picked up the Hamilton Beach air fryer sure crisp toaster oven 31193 only used it for toast and baking , what I wish was that this toaster oven would have come with better information (biggest pamphlet I’ve ever seen lol) anyway not even one recipe came with this toaster oven 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔hum .
Wow when they work they a great when they breakdown that’s that lol. With what they cost one would expect them to be a lot more durable.
Thanks for the helpful information, best of luck in 2020.
I’m glad I was able to share 🙂. Best wishes to you in 2020 as well.
It's slow and takes long to cook on all settings. I made rotisserie chicken and pork. All good but slow. Nice size. Change between Fahrenheit & Celcius by holding the air fry bottom for 5 sec.
Thanks for sharing. It does cook slowly but I feel it gives more control over cooking. Food burning is less likely.
@@universejarvis9229
I found mine is 60 degrees below the temperature! I turn it on to 410F to get it up to 350F.
That’s interesting I’ve never really checked the temp other than the display. Granted if I’m cooking meat I’m always sure to check the internal temp.
Thanks for the Video, I am thinking of getting one, can you tell me the inside dimensions , Thanks
Glad you found it helpful. The dimensions 9.02 in (H), 17.68 in (W), 14.17 in (D). It can fit a 12” pizza with no issues.
Doesn’t cuisinarthave a 3 year warranty?
Someone else mentioned that in a fairly rude comment a while back lol. I did look before I got rid of it and couldn’t find much. The website didn’t have a lot of info and what I did find sounded like I’d have to mail it in etc. I felt like it was more hassle to deal with than replacing. No regrets I got a lot of use out of it. Going forward I don’t think I’d get another Cusinart. I expected more longevity from such a high end product. But my Surecrisp is awesome I love it.
Thanks for your reply, I need the inside dimensions of the oven. I have not been able to find inside width depth and height anywhere, please help. Thanks
Dimensions LxWxH, 14.17 x 17.68 x 9.02 inches
@@universejarvis9229 are those the inside or outside dimensions? I am trying to figure out the actual outside dimensions for the height, width, and depth.
Just did another lookup and found these. I would assume those are outside. None of the sites specify which. Dimensions (inches): 11.3 H x 18.3 W x 8.74 D
Do you think youll create any videos of cooking with it? i cant seem to find any on-line/youtube. I'm an air fryer noobie
I think you may be in luck lol. I should have some time on my hands this weekend so hopefully I can setup and do a walk-through 😊.
So glad I stumbled on your video. I'm looking for my first air fryer/toaster oven. I had a Cuisinart on my list of possible models but now I think I'll consider other brands. I love all the features of the Cosori model but $200 is a bit steep right now. This Hamilton Beach looks intriguing and has most of the functions I'm looking for. Since posting this video how are you liking it so far?
I'm so glad my video was helpful. I hope you are able to make a decision. Maybi also recommend looking into the Galanz Microwave, Air Fryer, Convection oven combo. I need to do a review of it. Found it in Walmart for about $120 it's great.
How is the air fry function on the Hamilton beach? Reviews online say it takes awhile to heat up.
It works well. Between the two models it cooks slower so it’ll take more time to get to the desired level or crispness depending on your preference. Even with this being the case it does a great job. I actually like that it cooks slower since it gets up to temp gradually.
Does take a while to heat up but once it reaches temp you are golden quite literally lol. It reminds me of my Sous Vide. I prefer the gradual heat as I feel it gives you more control when you are cooking. If you walk away or forget you food hasn’t burned to a crisp as well lol.
@@universejarvis9229 I just purchased this oven I am having trouble with the buttons, how can I keep it on bake or continue baking without the oven turning off .Manual was not legible . please help
Once you choose the function on the knob (i.e Bake, toast) but hit the start/stop button and it will continue to cook at the specified time and temp you select until either the time ends of you hit the start/stop button again. You can even open the door to check the food and it won’t shut off.
I’m thinking of getting this. Have you used it yet? If so, are you happy with it and what functions have you used? Thanks for your review!
I have used it a few times now. I absolutely love it. The digital display is nice you can view it reaching the temp you set. It slowly goes to temp which is nice so that you can cook slowly and carefully. It’s the perfect size does take up too much counter space but is wide enough that you can use the standard size disposable pans found in Sam’s Club.
I would recommend this over at the price point you can beat it. The only thing I wish it has is a light but that’s not a deal breaker by any means. Hope this helps if you have any more questions ask away. Stay tuned I plan to do a follow up video and prepare a meal in it soon 🙂.
UNIVERSE JARVIS thanks for your quick response. Is the digital display easy to read? Some of them are very faint and hard to read.
The display is not hard to read at all. I suppose this can vary from person to person. But I have no problem seeing it. The backlighting is blue and the numbers etc are black.
Thanks for posting this. Am considering getting one; have you rotisserie’s a chicken in it yet?
Thanks
No problem glad you found it helpful. That’s next up on my list of things to make it it. Once I do I’ll post a video.
Hey I jus bought one but am wondering where the #6 slide out crumbs tray goes if it’s under the rods or on top ?
It goes on the very bottom under the heating elements.
UNIVERSE JARVIS ok thanks
Hey it’s is very quiet lol
can I make corn popcorn in the oven?
Hi Carolina 🙂. It would be hard to make popcorn in the oven. Unless you have some sort of specific container that would allow you to do so. They make all sorts that can go in the microwave to pop loose kernels.
i bought this same appliance and so far its working good for me..the only thing I've air fried so far are French fries and they came out really good..didnt' even use a drop of oil! other than that i only use it to re-heat pizza..wish it came with a recipe pamphlet or something similar..have to admit, I'm a little intimidated by it because i don't know what all i can make in it!
That’s great to hear. I haven’t done fries yet. I’ve air fryer a while chicken and made fish in it. I’ve also baked biscuits in it. I plan to use the rotisserie soon and will upload a video in tandem.
It does have a wide variety of things it can do. And you are absolutely right wish it did come with a recipe book. But essentially everything you can do in a normal oven you can do in it just at a smaller scale. It cooks slow enough that when you bake you can keep an eye on what is baking to keep it from burning.
Hi Marissa,
How long did it take you to do French fries and what settings were used?
When I make them I usually do whatever the package recommends which is usually 375-400 degrees. And I cook around 25 mins on the bake setting and using the air fry button.
