Hey Renske, where do you buy the canvas? And what quality checks do you use to buy the canvas? (And just between us Dutchies: Are canvasses of Hornbach or Bauhaus okay? Because they tend to be a bit cheaper than the artstore canvasses)
Enjoyed this video. I have a tendency to over blow my Dutch pour and Inslso have tried to gently blow mine as you. Do but I cannot seem to get it right. I may need my paint thinner, it blows with a dryer but I jus seem to don’t know when to stop but have learned from you I can scrape off partsI don’t like. Love all your videos.
I wish I had seen this a couple years ago before I got started. So thank you. One tip for beginners is don’t start out learning on the most expensive canvases. Practice and learn consistency or you could run out of money before you get to the really good art pieces.
In art school I painted on water color paper. Tear or cut it into smaller pieces, tape to a drawing board or onto the wall. You can do this with oils as well. Just gesso the paper first.
I am in Florida and many Floridians have graduated from the university of Florida (go Gators) Their colors are orange and blue which are complimentary and I had my first commission from one such lady. Your information helped me with this so much even though I still had to make two attempts. Thank you so much!
Hi Rinske, thank you for all the videos and great inspiration. But what makes you special for me is that i just have to listen to your voice and i'm already a bit more happy. And of course your smile makes the package complete. Your are a great positive person that makes the world a better place. Stay the way you are :D.
I’m in love with pouring paint because it’s an exercise in trusting the process, surrendering my expectations, then accepting and embracing the result. Art is medicine.
Thank you that was very informative! Can you tell us what a good paint that is not to expensive but is better then the craft paint! Thank you beautiful lady!💕
Fantastic advice - thank you!!! Yes, please do more of these... your wisdom and experience saves a lot of us time, energy, and money... and prevents us from getting incredibly frustrated! 😅
another perfect lesson for us.Please keep them coming. Rinska, you have more charm in your little finger than I have seen in anyone persons whole body. You wear your kind soul for us all to see. Thank you, thank you
These tips would have been great to know 3 years ago. Thanks for sharing them now so that new acrylic pourers don’t give up. I teach fluid art and I know if some people don’t get good results they don’t always want to continue. My advice is to stick with it a bit longer. An important aspect of pouring is that it comes down to 3 critical items - consistency, consistency and consistency. If you’re trying a new style of painting and it’s not working, it’s likely because the paints are different or wrong consistencies. Write down what you use when you’re testing it. Keep trying by varying only one thing at a time. The base coat is as important as the other colours but sometimes it needs to be thinner - depending on the style of painting - in order to allow the paint to tilt over the base coat. To test your paints put a spoonful of each on a canvas to check the flow rate. If one flows down more quickly than the rest, it’s too thin and needs more paint it flows down too slowly then it’s too thin and needs more water added to the paint mix.
So true. Lots of frustration with cheap artist supplies. You get what you pay for. Cheap paint and you have problems or have to add extra additives to prevent issues with loss of binders, pigments and everything else. As usual Rinske your advice is so spot on.
Brilliant tips, thank you Rinske. I’m currently researching to begin my acrylic pour journey as I’ve become obsessed and I know it’s something I have to explore. Yourself, Molly and Olga are great inspirations and little videos like this are so so helpful. I’m learning so much from you lovely ladies 🙏
Rinske you are delightful and so enjoyable watching your talents at work. Your instructions and inspiration are very much appreciated. Please keep teaching us.
Number five just explained what went wrong on a painting that I tried to do but ended up wiping off the canvas. I did not know how to layer the complementary colors but now I do thanks to you. I believe this tip will save me a lot of money and a lot of time. You are very good at educating people like me
Thank you , thank you so so much for sharing your knowledge. You are so awesome and I love watching and listening to you. These types of videos are so helpful. Thank you Stay lovely. Keep glowing . 🥰
You're so right ..I learned the hard way that cheaper paints are a waste of money...I have the same challenge as what Lynn Njaa said below! Thank you so much for this video!♥
Thank you for this. I have felt somewhat of a failure because I thought I had to have a real plan. Now I think I can have more fun and not be so obsessive and disappointed. Thank you, Thank you for your words of wisdom!
The biggest word of advice you gave for me was, don’t get stuck on your original plan because with fluid Art sometimes, if not all the time things change and you should still find the beauty! Thank you so much for that, very inspiring!
Renski you are glowing with this new little heart beat in you...great video! You are so generous with your knowledge and education...is great to see this energy in the art world, where it has been nothing but competition and hiding secrets for many generations...you have created a loving community of genuine good people ... congratulations on choosing the right priorities in life!!
Hello! I'm already happy seeing you talk like that, It is contagious. I am mesmerized by your smile. I'll remember your tips. Thank God I found you before I begin to start doing this kind of art. ❤️❤️❤️ from Japan
Thank you, I'm just starting. I haven't painted anything yet. I've been watching videos to try to see what I need and how to begin. You are so sweet . I love how you share your information, to help everyone. Your art is amazing. So beautiful. Thank you so much. 🌼😊
Thank you, Rinske! You have helped to make my fluid art journey fun, playful and forgiving when it doesn’t go well. A tip I would share with a new artist is that it is so important to make sure your canvass is level. My very first piece was beautiful but I failed to level it and I was horrified when I checked it later and it ran off and my design was lost. I scraped it and tried to recapture what I had originally created and it never panned out. But I learned a very valuable lesson.
Just a tip I learned about using pouring medium. For example, let's say you're using floetrol. Pour your floetrol in your cop first, before you pour in the paint. This way the paint doesn't get stuck in the grooves and bottom of the cup. You may notice some vids where artists use shallow, wide mouthed cups that are smooth on the inside. That's why. I learned that after wasting a LOT of paint. Thanks Rinske! 😁
I love this video and all the rest of yours!😊 something that I wish I new when I started doing fluid art was how important the consistency of my paint was. Each color even within the same brand is so different in how much water needs to be added because some colors are more pigmented then others are. I wish I knew this in the beginning.
Thank you. The beautiful professional acrylic painting came out lovely. I didn't realize that acrylic paints dry darker. Thank you again. Great comment about the transparancy and mixing paints together. Thanks for the tip on muddy colors. Great video.
Love this, Rinske. Thank you. I especially like your comments on how to respond when things don't go as planned. I think that's one of my favorite things about acrylic pouring. I used to work in live TV production. We had to think on our feet and "go with the flow" when equipment malfunctioned or something else went wrong. It's the same with acrylic pouring. Sometimes you just have to "go with the flow" (pun intended). ;-)
I agree mam .im from philippines n working as caregiver here in israel i started doing acrylic painting during the pandemic i spend a lot money topractice i ruind alot n buy stuff for 1 year n now im selling my paintings to all friends of my employer .i watch your videos n olga n molly .thank you painting helps me alot esp my anxiety .n little income. But i notice if im not in mood condition all my painting is a mess sometimes. 💙💙💙💙
Would love to see a video on how to mix paint for pouring, ratios, what to do, how to store, what are good substitutes for pouring medium...that would be great! Thanks for these awesome tips here too. I learned the hard way that spending a little more on quality paints really make a difference.
I'm watching this 3 years after you made this video. I'm just starting my painting journey. THANK YOU. I watch you often and plan to take your course. Blessings
Thank you! I watched your videos obsessively when I was first starting to do fluid art. They have always been fun and educational! I am so grateful. I wonder what tips you have on using metallic paint.
Thanks, Ms. Douna! - I love how colors dance with one another and I would love to hear more of what you can teach us. I appreciate the time talented artists will share with us - I've never come across anything like this community before.
Love this💕💕💕 Perfect advice and so helpful! I look forward to more videos like this. You touched on opaque, transparent, semi transparent paints. My challenge has always been how to layer using color theory and the paint transparencies to get the effect I want. I would love to see a video of how you choose and layer colors and transparencies to get cell effects.
Yes! I had a couple of perfect pours. I know what colors I used and how I layered them. But when I try different color combos something just goes wrong. Complementary colors and opacities are so important.
Hi, I have only just found you and I am so disappointed to realise just what I have been missing all this time! You are terrific and I thank you for the enthusiasm you bring out in me for my abstract art. again. I had not done any for quite a while but now I am ready to go once again. You are a very nice person whom I feel I can relate to and I admire you very much. Thanks so much Rinske and I wish you continued success with your work.
Thank you for this video, I’m struggling with the base consistency to allow the colours to move easily. I’m using a good quality semi gloss acrylic house paint atm watered down and would really appreciate your advice 😊
I started fluid art couple y ears ago, i used dollar store paint to practice, i use golden aacrylics, and Amsterdam, but i learned to paint traditionally after i learned fluid art, and also Resin. I love fluid art, but traditionally painting i absolutely love. I love a challenge. When I’m learning to paint, i will paint same pic over and over, until i get it right! Next is to learn to paint animals. Great advice for beginners!!
Rinske this video is fantastic. I would love to see more videos like this. When I first started pour painting I thought it be the same as when I paint a landscape, animals, floral design or similar pieces... I was so wrong lol. Sometimes I have a picture in my head that I want the pouring to go and the paint is like "nope, not today" so now when that happens I pour and let the paint tell me what it wants. With some tweaks here and there it usually comes out close to what's in my head or totally different.
Thank you so much for all the information you shared. That will help me immensely. I'm starting my acrylic painting journey and I was hearing some say to use craft paints and I didn't listen. I have been gathering little by little a stock of better quality paints. I felt it would be a waste as I was looking at many different beginning and established artists and the results I preferred were those who were using better quality of paints. I knew there were other creative projects I was going to do so it wouldn't be a total waste. Even so, I started to get scared that I spent a lot of money already and was getting discouraged.... however I have studied many many artists at many levels tons & tons of recipes and now I know I have it within me to experiment and create. Colors make me happy, inspire, calm me and taps into my soul. I'm setting up my living room as a studio and I will let the creativity flow. Thank you again. I will be watching all your videos, hitting all the like buttons and subscribing . Thank you for sharing 💜🪷🌺
Tip Nmber 5: complimentary colors, is the best advice I have gotten. I think I knew that without knowing why exactly. But, all of your advice is valuable, and I appreciate your generosity.
Rinske has a video done and posted here on YT comparing several painting mediums ...you can put the info in the search bar with her name and find it....
Thank you so much for the tips I just started acrylic pouring and I already got a comission and I learned everything from your channel and from Olga and Molly
Today is Monday.... I have been trying to pour since Feb 2021 and came to the conclusion last Friday that I was no good at this, lost all my gusto for pouring because nothing I did was beautiful in my opinion.... but today I think I will give it a go again after watching your uplifting video!!! Please make more informative videos like this for all us newbies that have such love for pouring but just can't get it right!!!
I'm not an artist so I just copy the colors in videos but most of the time my painting becomes muddy haha. Btw, I think you're having a baby girl. Take care😍
Thank you so much!! You have such a nice and beautiful smile and you make me happy! Thank you a lot! God bless you and I wish you to have a lot of inspiration all your life and make the world a better place for everyone with your way with your existence.❤️ I wish you the best, you are such a happy and inspiring person and beautiful soul, I wish you a lot of love and happiness all the time.!❤️💐🤗 Thank you for having you🌼 🌸 God bless you❤️ Have a beautiful night my lovely dear Douna❤️❤️❤️
She makes me so happy just watching and listening to her! Which I really need right now. I’m so happy I stumbled upon her channel. She is truly a beautiful person
I'm new to paint pouring. I like to include my kids. We tried some new techniques the other day and scraped one canvass three times. Lol! We had a good time and finally liked what we did. Your video is helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Even though I knew these tips -great for new artists!, I kept watching for your lovely glow!!! My tip-level up!!! Nothing worse than creating a lovely piece only to watch it run away because the substrate wasn’t level!
Rinske, I am just seeing this video for the first time. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am for you to share these valuable lessons. You are amazing in talent and spirit. My tip is never give up (as I did, hence the six months late in seeing this video) just because you can’t seem to get the right consistency, color combinations, or outcome. You have inspired me to try again, because in my heart, when I see the beauty of your paintings, I long to create some beauty too. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much. Things a want to be would never think of. How awesome and helpful this is. Also if I may say you are absolutely glistening or glowing as my mother would say of a expectant mother to be. 😊
You are Amazing so inspired. I learn whith you. I bigin peinting since two months. It's true using good peintures are better results. Thanks for being yourself.
"Please see the beauty...forget about your plan!" I love your tone and delivery when presenting the ins and outs of your craft. Thank you for sharing your expertise! You make the world a more beautiful place in many ways!!!
I love your personality!! I want to thank you for this because I want to start the journey of fluid art acrylic pouring but I’m a perfectionist when it comes to supplies and the need to know what is best to start so thank you for this I will be self taught or a you tube student of you and your friend Molly! 🥰
Rinske, you are so much fun to watch. I would love to see an in-person collaboration with you and Olga Soby; I tend to have a pretty stormy and dry demeanor, but it’s impossible not to feel all sunshiney and optimistic with yours and Olga’s energies. Can’t get enough of these videos!
Hey congrats on baby! I've been pouring about 4 years. And i knew /know all your talking about, BUT, sometimes it helps to hear it again.... because we forget....thanks Rinska! 😙❤👍
Thank you for this information. I love your enthusiasm for this craft that many just don't understand. I've learned so much from you. Thank you my dear 😘
Number 3 is like giving yourself a present. When I pour I want a surprise and almost every time I am happy with a result because the paint gave it up! Otherwise pouring isn't fun or relaxing. I'm still learning pouring and this video is very helpful. Thank you Rinske.
Even after a year of pouring, I found this extremely helpful. I should have watched a year ago when I started my dutch pour journey. Bedankt van Canada!
Thank you Rinske! I’ve only been pouring for a few months & learning about different paint consistencies for different types of pours has been a bit of a challenge! For instance, the consistency for Dutch pours is much thinner than consistencies for ring pours! Etc. The other thing was about the importance of levelling the canvass prior to starting a piece & that it needs to be left right there until it’s dry. There can be no guarantee that the surface will be level at a different location. This means that more room is needed in the action space so that inspiration can flow! xx
You are so engaging..love your style. I like acrylic abstracts, tried flow several years ago...hated it!!! But I've been looking at your channel for a few weeks now and have gone and bought a heap of STUFF to see if I can fall in love with your style. Thank you 😊
Thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial on paint. There are so many things to consider, from the quality of the paint to being content with the end results. Your happiness is like an empty square, comes right through in it’s transparency. Very happy for you and the new direction you are talking, don’t stay away from your hairdryer too long. We love seeing the beauty of your art!❤️🙏🏼
Was great to see you in the video and talking about mistakes. Well, I did all those mistakes and still continue to do but sometimes I have some tiny success. You are an amazing artist , if you ever experiment with alcohol inks, please do share the video.
Rinse This Art that we who have a passion for, always appreciate your unselfish giving! We love the tips and instruction you provide. Thank you so much , and please continue to share your knowledge and experience Roy S

Hey Renske, where do you buy the canvas? And what quality checks do you use to buy the canvas? (And just between us Dutchies: Are canvasses of Hornbach or Bauhaus okay? Because they tend to be a bit cheaper than the artstore canvasses)
Thank you. I am a follower. Love you
I have found the A to Z course to be incredibly helpful! Totally worth the investment!
I would love to take your course. Can you give me a coupon code?
I wish I had seen this a couple years ago before I got started. So thank you. One tip for beginners is don’t start out learning on the most expensive canvases. Practice and learn consistency or you could run out of money before you get to the really good art pieces.
Exactly but they should also sell it cheaper! Because some use not good quality products and they sell very expensive.
In art school I painted on water color paper. Tear or cut it into smaller pieces, tape to a drawing board or onto the wall. You can do this with oils as well. Just gesso the paper first.
I struggle with how the turn and moved the hair dryer in the right way. How close or what is the right angle ?
Dollar store sells canvases

I’m in love with pouring paint because it’s an exercise in trusting the process, surrendering my expectations, then accepting and embracing the result. Art is medicine.
I too would like to see how you decide what colors to layer.. the order of them.. especially when using red
Thank you! I will do a special video for that!
Yes it will be useful👌
Yes please
Me too!! And also is there an easy way to substitute colors when you don't have the same brand or color as the artist?
Thank you that was very informative!
Can you tell us what a good paint that is not to expensive but is better then the craft paint! Thank you beautiful lady!💕
Fantastic advice - thank you!!! Yes, please do more of these... your wisdom and experience saves a lot of us time, energy, and money... and prevents us from getting incredibly frustrated! 😅
You look so happy ❤ definitely has the pregnancy glow into your eyes 🤗 love the video 😘😘
♥️
Right? I was thinking the same thing. Such a beautiful lady you are @rinskedouna
I loved this video. Clear, concise, direct & to the point while being fun & friendly. Great teacher.
How do you know that she's expecting?
another perfect lesson for us.Please keep them coming. Rinska, you have more charm in your little finger than I have seen in anyone persons whole body. You wear your kind soul for us all to see. Thank you, thank you
Exactly! Quality is better than quantity! This is the first thing the profs are teaching in the first year of university!😊❤
I would love a video where you explain how you choose your color palette for a painting.
Positive vibe in your presentation making you unique. God bless

So much important information..Thank you so much for doing this for all us newbees!
Thanks, Ms. Douna! - I love how colors dance with one another and I would love to hear more of what you can teach us. I appreciate the time talented artists will share with us - I've never come across anything like this community before.

Number 3 the plan in my head is to get one painting like Rinske, who has the most consistent plaintiff series over and over haha 😂
Tip Nmber 5: complimentary colors, is the best advice I have gotten. I think I knew that without knowing why exactly. But, all of your advice is valuable, and I appreciate your generosity.
Can you do a video that explains the mediums used in Fluid painting? 🥰
Rinske has a video done and posted here on YT comparing several painting mediums ...you can put the info in the search bar with her name and find it....
@@jennyray4753 thank you!
Rinske, this is so helpful especially to the new comer to this art form, please make more of this kind of thing, thank you
Thank you so much for the tips I just started acrylic pouring and I already got a comission and I learned everything from your channel and from Olga and Molly
How did you get your paintings out there? Craft Shows, social media , etc?
Today is Monday.... I have been trying to pour since Feb 2021 and came to the conclusion last Friday that I was no good at this, lost all my gusto for pouring because nothing I did was beautiful in my opinion.... but today I think I will give it a go again after watching your uplifting video!!! Please make more informative videos like this for all us newbies that have such love for pouring but just can't get it right!!!
I'm not an artist so I just copy the colors in videos but most of the time my painting becomes muddy haha. Btw, I think you're having a baby girl. Take care😍
I do the same thing! In my opinion I end up hating what I poured and just let it dry and paint over.....
@@jwill3252 She makes it look so easy. All professionals do.
Easy for them.

I'm new to paint pouring. I like to include my kids. We tried some new techniques the other day and scraped one canvass three times. Lol! We had a good time and finally liked what we did. Your video is helpful. Thanks for sharing.
I experienced exactly what you are talking about. I nearly gave up! Thank you for sharing.
Even though I knew these tips -great for new artists!, I kept watching for your lovely glow!!! My tip-level up!!! Nothing worse than creating a lovely piece only to watch it run away because the substrate wasn’t level!
Ah Karen!! Love to you! Thank you. And yes totally! And especially on the drying table level!
I’m a proud student of yours!! Love your inspiration and your energy and positivity. You continue to share your knowledge and it’s really appreciated!
Thank you so much. Things a want to be would never think of. How awesome and helpful this is.
Also if I may say you are absolutely glistening or glowing as my mother would say of a expectant mother to be. 😊
Thankyou Rinske, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and your gorgeous paintings ❤
You are Amazing so inspired. I learn whith you. I bigin peinting since two months. It's true using good peintures are better results.

"Please see the beauty...forget about your plan!" I love your tone and delivery when presenting the ins and outs of your craft. Thank you for sharing your expertise! You make the world a more beautiful place in many ways!!!
Thank you very much. I am a beginner pouring artist but I have done other art for many years. You have helped me a lot.😊
I love your personality!! I want to thank you for this because I want to start the journey of fluid art acrylic pouring but I’m a perfectionist when it comes to supplies and the need to know what is best to start so thank you for this I will be self taught or a you tube student of you and your friend Molly! 🥰
This was helpful. I like your examples of the quality of paints as well as the contrasting vs. complimentary colors. Thank you.
Thank you and please do continue sharing your knowledge and experience!
Thank you Rinske, I appreciate your knowledge and experience ❤️💝
Thanks Rinsk..for your generous tips & tricks sharing!!!!
Very helpful. Rinska thank you. Look forward to the next. Look after yourself. God bless
You are absolutely beautiful. and funny, great teacher. much respect!
Thank you. I enjoy watching pouring but I am so glad to get some explanation that I can use.
❤️
All great tips, thank you! I especially appreciate the tip about complementary colors. So helpful!
This means that more room is needed in the action space so that inspiration can flow! xx
I am going through #3 right now....scraped the blessed thing 4 times and going to tackle it again...love this video
You are amazing ... keep your smile on your face and believe...thank you
Thanks for all your advices, it help us a lot. You look so happy, I'm happy for you
You are so engaging..love your style.
