We're so tired Time to rise up and retire Watching as the world expires From up above the clouds In cathedral In cathedral spires Oh! Ill never forget. It was long long ago... I bought Jugulator. Im a 60 yr old Judas Priest fan. I was there in the beginning. I put the album on and it took me a minute to realize the lead singer was replaced. I soon fell in love with this album but missed Rob. Glad to see he is back!! But also huge love to Ripper Owens
this song blows me away everytime. I know of Judas Priest because of this record. I see Judas Priest and I think not British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Sin after Sin, Turbo or Painkiller but I see Jugulator. That is my Judas Priest I know and love.
“So, before we’re all devoured, Time to rise up and retire. Watching as the world expires, From up amongst the clouds, With Cathedral Spires!” I still get goosebumps whenever I hear that part!❤❤❤
My third time seeing Priest was with RIPPER. I saw Priest in 1991 Operation Rock And Roll: Priest, Cooper, Motorhead, Dangerous Toys and Metal Church......are ya fucking kidding me???? But, these two shows I saw with Ripper will always be my favorite: Anaheim, Ca. 2001 House of Blues.... Max Capacity about 500 or so...... I was 10 feet if that from KK...... I lost my voice for over a week..... Will never forget these shows....
Everytime I hear this song I imagine a city burning and people dying and escaping the fireballs that falls from the black skies. You can see the band playing in the top of a building while the city is destroyed And the final part is a large group of people crying and holding candles walking and singing the final chorus with the band in the front until the final thunder sounds and the earth explotes
I've had the exact same image in mind for years with this song! It's amazing how a song can produce such a clear mental image with its lyrical and musical imagery.
Michael Culler its a speed metal album, and judas priest made the first proper speed metal song. only their turbo album is 100% glam. Well its oke to only like thrash metal (as long you don't say that metallica is first because they weren't)
@@tehufnI read in a magazine he went out and bought the first two albums and they also went out and bought the live in London DVD can you watch the performances of the DVD but I do know he said that he had listened to the records and added it to his collection Judas Priest catalog.

For me his incredible vocal range and capability of singing very high pitched stuff WITHOUT using falsetto reminds me of the early Layne Staley. I had the opportunity to listen to Owens in his solo tour in my hometown - it was a fucking A-grade awesome experience. I was not so fortunate with Staley :(
lyrics
They have blown away the daylight
Hours we had
Left a legacy, a deadly aftermath
We cannot exist in godforsaken lands
As we spiral down into oblivion
Breathing the fumes of fires that they ignite
Losing ground and we are all just losing sight
We shall never see another setting sun
Time to rise up and ascend, the end has come
No more willpower
Choked by hell fire
Darkness above
Blackening out the sun
Gripped by steel claws
Corrosion eating us
So before we're all devoured
Time to rise up and retire
In cathedral spires
Watching as the world expires
From amongst the clouds
In cathedral spires
No names
No graves
No prayers
Can save us
Ashes to dust
Doomsday's upon us now
It cannot be stopped
Genocide all is lost
Oh! We're so tired
Time to rise up and conspire in
Cathedral spires
Watching as our world expires
From up above the clouds
In cathedral spires
Jaws of corruption
Swallow us as one
Consuming every nation
Evoke resistance getting none
Complete disintegration
No good to defend
There can be but one outcome
We are no more - ascend
Vaporized fury
Offers no sanctuary
Oh! We're so tired
Time to rise up and retire
Watching as the world expires
From up above the clouds
In cathedral
In cathedral spires
Oh! We're so tired
Watching the world expire
Time that we retired
Up in cathedral spires
Amazing tune. Lyrics would fit on Stained Class or Sin After Sin perfectly!! So HEAVY!!
The best Judas Priest song with Timothy "Ripper" Owens!
couldn't agree more
Can't tell if it's the best one but for sure it's between the best ones!
Yes,sir!!
Most underrated priest song. So underrated, I searched for a few hours to find an HQ version like this
I tried my best. This is as good as UA-cam will allow haha
❤
Ill never forget.

That's cool bro, glad you found Priest regardless of what form. Priest exists throughout time in both directions. Bless
Love Ripper's albums but Stained Class reminds my favourite Priest album.
This is a METAL MASTERPIECE. 2019

Cadedral spires is awesome great song
This and Bullet Train are the outstanding tracks for the Tim 'Ripper' Owens era.
Best song on the album!!!

Still listening 4 years later 🙏

One of the most beautiful song intros I ever have heard magical.

Album really sizzles & stands out. The sound is solid and rocks steady.Love this song gets to the meaning.Ripper delivers the goods vocal wise!
La voz.. de .. este.. dios... Es insuperable.... Es the BEST ... Vocal.,... Y........... 🤘🤘🤘
So much "true" emotion.... This is my favorite track off of Jugulator!

The Witchhunter very soon when the nukes land
Rip Notre Dame...
I wish Rob would do some of Tim's material There's a lot there to work with
I wish it too
Jugulator song's are Hard to sing, Halford can't do it..
@@HighRockEvents
Are you on crack? Rob Halford is the original metal god of vocals with a 4 octave range.
There's nothing he can't sing.
@@kennyevans9166 yes Halford is Good
He couldn't hit the notes.
What a way to end such an epic album. HAIL TIM RIPPER OWENS!!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾💥💥💥🤯🤯🤯
If the world is gonna end this would be a good soundtrack.

Your image of this song is willing for a music video!
@@unromanoarecareanaveragero8275 Agreed!!
It would be cool if they can make a video of this but it's an opportunity to make this video has long passed
They have blown away...
Una obra de arte esto
a UA-camr that pins the lyrics cool
Heavy.
You got it man 🤘
Right!
kinda reminds me of today...
Increíble.
This sounds like an endtime song...the end of reality as we know it
_Armageddon_ is the word you're looking for, I think
The first two minutes of this song are the high point of the Tim Owens period.
I love this song....hauntingly beautiful guitar line very melodic and the way ripper sang it. this is the only album of priest I liked.
So you don't like the painkiller album.
No sir, i really am not much of a priest fan. I am more into the thrash movement than the nwobhm and glam/hair metal movements

You must have missed the Angel of Retribution album, which is very similar to this one.
Try Nostradamus. Fantastic album! Especially the songs Revelations and Exiled.
Super
Yah, Proud to be Roman Catholic!
Something to be proud of :o
Espectacular este tema
quite hard to sing :)
The last bit with the high-pitch is tricky
Dude, Halford should admit the existance of this song!
I read once that he said he hasn't listened to the Ripper albums :(

Why aren't Jugulator and Demolition on Spotify? I know it's the wrong place to ask, but shit.. why not..

Demolition is I’m pretty sure at least in the US. Jugulator sadly is still hidden

Ashamed of this albums.Didnt get credit deserved.
I've always wondered if Alice In Chains influenced them in this song.
Was listening to Dirt before coming here and see this comment. Coincidence? No
This is way heavier than anything Alice In Chains ever did
And?
I thought the same thing with the intro.
This is Bleed the Freak vs. Cemetery Gates :)))))
Owens have the same voice than Axl Roses in this music..
Antoine are u for real Ripper is way more talented than axl has been rose
Crazy man......Axle has nothing on Ripper. You hear his vocal range. Axle wishes
