Awesome job! I didn’t even know revelveting antlers was an option. I have an old set of whitetail antlers in velvet that my old man shot in the early 80’s with his bow. The mice got to them and ate holes on the velvet. I think I might try stripping them and attempt this myself. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
WOW! What a amazing video and a big thank you for showcasing our products. Your tutorial of how to use the Static King, Velvet Kit and its accompanying supplies to re-velvet these caribou antlers was excellent. We are so appreciative of you sharing the process and what you've learned with your subscribers and UA-camrs. We can't wait to see your elk antlers video, too. Keep up the great work!
Another great job! When I saw the title of this video; I thought to myself: "I bet static grass would work for that!" Sure enough, that is exactly what you did! I have been using woodland scenics products for years for dioramas, model kits, wargaming miniatures etc. and I was geeking out watching it used on this as well! Cheers!
Wow, what can you say, never thought there was away to do that . I'm so glad you gave it a shot, i see a lot of those fixing to come out of your shop. Great job.. See Ya
Wow!!!!! Good job!!!!! Turned out great!!!!! Velvet can be tricky.as you know.if that was my animal and you did that, I would be pleased.two thumbs up from me. Take care, your freind from Nebraska
Cool video, something different but I love these ones too... Anything antler work, i.e repairs, fixing chalk, broken tines, recoloring are all really awesome, and now we have re-velveting, too friggin sweet!!! Thanks again sir!!!
As someone who is huge into the mini hobby building community it was really funny to see another use for a tool! I have always used it for applying fake grass to my minis. A tip that will help with cleanup on the table is if you get a vacuum and place pantyhose over the nozzle it will suck up the fuzz and keep it safe in the netting. I recommend looking up videos in the mini community, very different from your content but you might pick up some more great tips on how others use the tool for other hobbies.
You are awesome! If it wasn't for you and your videos I would have ruined so many personal projects. Thank you so much for the inspiration hopefully one day I can make it into a career like you have 😊
This is a great episode. Thank you for educating us. I want to do this to my velvet buck I had to strip, 20 yrs ago. Bring him back to original, almost.
What an amazing product. We have nothing like that here in Australia. I’ll be ordering some from you guys and have it posted over to try on a couple of sheds. Thanks for sharing Love your work
Static grass is amazing, miniatures I like to make use this grass quite a bit so I got more excited seeing you use something so familiar to a mini's artist like me!!
Thank for this video. I watch all of your videos, but I just recently bought my own system to re velvet some deer antlers and have been hesitant to try it. Now I know enough that I think I can figure it out. Keep up the great work.
I just subscribed to this channel!! This channel is fantastic! Ryan you do great work and I’ve done some things myself mimicking your work! Not as good of course. Love the outlook of the hunting community in your videos!! Keep up the great work!!
People that make dioramas use glue in spray bottle on the first layer of static fibers and then add another layer so it is more dense. you should experiment with it :D.
I've tried cleaning velvet like that off an axis deer (definitely not tht fresh though) and just blew through the antlers. Different (earlier) stage of growth maybe? You mentioned at the beginning that they lost a nose bone. Did you replace it with somethng from your 'parts bin'? How did you cleaning and prep work allign with the instructions that came with the kit? DO the colors that come withthe kit change based ont eh species kit you buy? I'm wondering how important it is to specify the orrect species when ordering. Nice to hear the classic 'closing' is back! LOL!! Thanks for the great tutorial Ryan!
they lost, then found the nose bone I just glued it back up. you buy kit colors based on the animal species and prep is the same . thank you for watching
One person I've seen using a Static King is Luke Towan, he seems to use a wire on the grounding clip and touches the tip of the wire to the patches of glue.
Do you have a video on how to get antlers cleaned and white? My friend shot one and I'm trying to clean up the rack and get the antlers ready for a mount
Looks like a great product and everything. The only problem I have is the fact that it doesn't give the right look, since there is a whole lot of tissue involved when the bull has the real velvet. So for me it doesn't look realistic enough. But great job nonetheless!
I love the velvet look on the caribou, but after watching videos of hunts, they always strip it off. Now there's a way to have the velvet look without the decomp from the blood and tissue.
Hey my friend you hunted and harvested more than I for sure since I’m on limited budget lol anyway my question is what does antelope and caribou taste like
I euroed a spike elk in velvet. I pressure washed the velvet off but it is like the blood drained into the skull staining it. Any suggestions on getting it out. The skull has a greenish color now in a few spots.
ive seen peole flock car pieces model pieces dioramas but never have i seen someone do it for antlers lol i thought youd use lke a velvet cloth or something
I really want a caribou bull but sadly they don’t ship to me so I had the marvelous idea to buy a caribou rack and dismount them so I can mount it on a deer like a red stag skull and that, how do you recommend dismounting a antler rack?
I've had a caribou for 5 years that I've want to velvet, but I couldn't find out any information on diy. Thank you so much for showing this process.
heck yeah good luck
There's a guy that uses this to make miniature railroad dioramas. Not quite the same thing but he has been using this a bit longer.

you could do it no problem

I like your projects. UA-cam unsubscribed me and I couldn’t find you till now I subscribed again. 👍
Welcome back. UA-cam doesn’t do much care for my genres
I don’t care what the hatters say. You are awesome and very helpful. So from Montana thank you so much.

I'm in SC and get a few velvet bucks in. I've been using that product for 2 years doing repairs on velvet and it is great and simple to use!
Your process is always amazing to watch

My other hobby is model trains. Never would have guessed I was sitting on a pile of 'velvet' my whole life!
What an awesome video. I always wondered how thay did velvet in a mount. Thank you for showing how it's done. This is one of my favorite videos
Looks badass... Totally impressed...
Great video as always. I've used this method on several deer. They have all turned out fantastic!
Caribou have some really neat looking antlers! Great vid!

Wow! Gotta try that!
I dont know how you would get it but a hippo skull would be really cool
Very informative video thanks for sharing

Absolutely awesome
Did your client like it after it was done? Because it looks great.
A double shovel. Nice job the re-velvet.
thank you
If you could legally get your hands on a baby deer, could you please possibly do a video on how to clean its skull? That would be awesome to see!
Great Video!
Great job!! Love your videos!!!
thank you
Where did you get the GSP hat, my dad loves those dogs and his bday is coming up.Thought it would be a fun gift!

Thx for being real. How/when did ya apply the second shorter layer ?
So I put the short layer on first and then just added a bit of the first or long layer as I went. I mixed them once I figured out I mess up.
That's seriously wicked... And less than $200 to do??? WOW!
great product
Brother game changer
how bad was it ? easier then dealing with real velvet???
I love the velvet look on the caribou, but after watching videos of hunts, they always strip it off. Now there's a way to have the velvet look without the decomp from the blood and tissue.
Hey my friend you hunted and harvested more than I for sure since I’m on limited budget lol anyway my question is what does antelope and caribou taste like
He didn't kill the caribou, he done it for someone else.
its difficult for me to explain flavor but think of a beef less savory fat more iron and a bit stronger.
I euroed a spike elk in velvet. I pressure washed the velvet off but it is like the blood drained into the skull staining it. Any suggestions on getting it out. The skull has a greenish color now in a few spots.
I would like know, can I repeat a perruque head (European roe Buck) with this method?? Many regards from Austria.
Beautiful
Thank you
love the timthetatman music in the video lmaooo
Just discoverer this channel and im really enjoying it XD
Can you do a video doing an alligator gar skull? Good work, love watching your videos.
Yes just need a gar ...
@@WHITEBONE I’ll see what I can do!
How long should you boil a skull do you don’t damage the bone
Bow season is coming up. I plan on shooting a buck, which will still be in velvet. What should I do after removing the velvet?
if you can keep original velvet do that if not follow this process
@@WHITEBONE ok, thanks for the info
What is the name of the products. If you don't mind me asking.
mr.Beans mustve been so temped when he went in that bone stocked workshop
those antlers are huge . i wonder how the caribou hold them
You should see Alaska moose antlers lol
What is your creations solution to getting skulls degreased and white? Mind is pure white and then turns yellow after a year
I use I gallon of peroxide and however much water your pot holds then bring it to a boil. All skull will loose their initial bright white in time..
ive seen peole flock car pieces model pieces dioramas but never have i seen someone do it for antlers lol i thought youd use lke a velvet cloth or something
🤭good video
thank you
Swear boiling will cause oils to go deep in the bone and cause problems in the long run? Makes bone more brittle too
Did the owner like it?
Loved it.
Have you ever thought of doing a horse skull?
👍😎👍
Do your neighbors ever complain about the smell or flys?
no no its so temporary good clean up helps
Hi! 😊
Hello!
If you don't want to pay for the velvet stuff you could also shave a kiwi :-)
👀
Marianne oldenburg mammen sådan skal Jørg line det op 😊
Love your Videos man but please don't use the dubstep or whatever music that is again.
Let us hear some country music, much more fitting
Ha Copy that thank you for watching
#dontmissaspot
ahhh i hate seeing people boiling bones its so easy to over-do it and ruin the bone so it leaks for the rest of time
I really want a caribou bull but sadly they don’t ship to me so I had the marvelous idea to buy a caribou rack and dismount them so I can mount it on a deer like a red stag skull and that, how do you recommend dismounting a antler rack?
