I live in Brighton beach and have been going to Coney island since the 80's when I moved back to Brooklyn. So much is gone and gentrified but it is still great. I love this song and video. This video should be shown at the Coney Island Film Festival in September. They have a music video category. This would win!
This is one of the best piece of music Garland never did. And makes me proud to support him since he was releasing Matador. We all know he's not only a fantastic artist and one of the best voice around, but also a sincere and genuine human being still surviving in this bloody business. I wish him all the best and good luck for his brand new album.
Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant !!! Leave it to Garland Jeffreys to be determined and relentless in getting his voice & music heard. This is one of his best. Excellent. Great images, his voice has never failed him and his performance is sharp. I'm still listening tosongs like -- "R.O.C.K," and the "Mystery Kids" -- a great artist. Someday the rest of the listening public will come to realize what they have been missing all these years. If ever there was a "real deal" Garland is that artist.
Wonderful! My first exposer to Garland was his great, no longer available LP, "Rock & Roll Adult" - I've been hooked ever since. This song is right up at the top - can't wait for the new CD!
It is an absolute shame that Garland Jeffreys has not become a major star but that's the way popular taste runs. This song bodes well for what should be a great album. I've seen Garland live many times and he's a wonderful performer who elevates his already-great music. All the best, Garland!
Holy Crap! I just saw Garland on Letterman's show do a DYNAMIC live performance of this song. I first saw Garland Jeffreys open for Lou Reed in Memphis, Tennessee at the Orpheum Theater I believe it was... about 115 years ago. He was awesome then and he's just as awesome now.
Fantastic....love it ..very difficult to get it here in Australia..Have to wait until I go to Europe end of August I watched it a few times and like it more and more ..feels like a treat before you go to bed.
Thanks Jim! Hope you'll check out the just-launched Kickstarter campaign for our upcoming documentary (Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between) - www.kickstarter.com/projects/kingofinbetween/garland-jeffreys-the-king-of-in-between.

Fantastic video. Thanks Schmutzy! Coney Island in the 50s-60s was the best place to grow up and it will ALWAYS remain the same in our mind's eye.

I think I like this comment!
@eligoldsteinlive HI i came here for the exact same reason! did you have any luck finding it?

Who didn't like this song? The Beibers?
Ah they ruined Coney Island trying to make it Disneyland. But it lives on right up there.
Wow he’ terrific! A black Biff Rose. Better
than Bob or Bruce in my opinion.👍

Like very much from Sheepshead Bay Batchelder and Avenue Z just a stone's throw away from the KNapp St Sewage Plant.
