I think his personality might be "too serious" for other people. I'm just speculating based on what I hear and his guitar work ethic. Clearly hes a profectionist They do drugs? Im out. This isnt advancing my technique
Feels weird but good coming back here at 30. I ran into a dude the other day fresh out of high school with a BoO shirt on. Talked about their old and new stuff. How their music transcends and lyrics are really helpful if you listen. Idk it makes me happy. This band did so much for me in my late teen/early 20s years and I'm really glad it's still going.
one of the most underrated albums in the history of metal. jason richardson and BoO were a perfect match. wish things couldve worked out because this is a magical sound.
I don't think it has anything to do with Jason being straight edge, I just think Jason is a badass guitarist. This album is so many levels above all of their others..
@brkdwnDude on another note Jason didn't even fit into BOO, yea his playing is astounding, but the sole members of BOO grew up together through high school and their adolescent years and are best friends, I'm sure there was a connection that existed through out the band that Jason couldn't pick up on because he didn't really know them all too well. there is no way that BOO is gonna let Jason's departure affect how they write their music, they did write The Discovery after all.
I understand that people dislike Jason, but I find it hard to see how you think Lee is better at any aspect of playing the guitar. I still think BoO are good, but Jason was/is a fucking beast and played a crucial part in the sound of this entire album.
I think it's stupid how people will say that weed improves things. Some people do have that rare ability to where they are more musically talented while under the influence, but that is nothing of a fact. If a man like Jason, who played amazing leads, can write music like this without having drugs or alcohol, then that goes to show that you don't NEED those things in order to be creative or philosophical.
CHECK OUT NEW REIGN (ORIGINAL RECORDING).. NO DOUBT THE LEADS ARE PRETTY INTRICATE ON DISCOVERY, BUT ATMOSPHERICALLY, THEYVE HAD THE SAME ORIGINAL STYLE SINCE BEFORE JASON.
@brkdwnDude you cant say that, Jason has quoted that he likes to keep a halfway decent head on his shoulders, he in no way shape or form is straight edge, and to say Marijuana has nothing to do with this album is absurd because the whole band smokes weed so it definatly had an influence on the riffs they wrote for this album, idk about you but random music i make up flows through my brain like an already written song when I'm high.
@444warmachine no. someone taught this to me a while ago. its about taking a persons stoner virginity. its about bringing another person into this world for the first time and showing them how amazing it is. read the lyrics (:
I listened to this song while I was trippin on shrooms........ I felt like i was in outer space seeing all the things NASA hides from mankind. SO AWESOME!!!
Ive met Jasons dad.He plays in a band called Messenger. His band was playing at Six flags, and he was wearing a BOO shirt. He had white hair and looked old,so we asked his band if they could play a BOO song,Thats when he told me he was Jasons Dad.I could tell he was proud of the band his son was in.He said they couldn't play a BOO song because their music is too technical. Now that Jason is fired, they will probably be able to play BOO songs, since BOO will be nowhere near as technical without jason
Actually All Shall Perish didn't kick him out he chose to leave ASP for BOO, BOO is the only band that has kicked him out and thats because he got on to them about their super frequent use of Marijuana because he felt it was hurting the band. Jason undoubtedly help BOO evolve more with this album just as he has made CG evolve..You can notice that the new ideas in CG's music are some of the same things that got added to BOO when Jason joined...He had a lot to do with this album
I feel like Jason is a little magical guitar fairy that hops from band to band.
I think his personality might be "too serious" for other people. I'm just speculating based on what I hear and his guitar work ethic.
Clearly hes a profectionist
They do drugs? Im out.

I wonder if they are aware how their music makes people feel, just instrumentally.
I love "Happy riffs" in heavy metal
Those leads are beautiful .
Probably my favorite song from this incredible release! Such an underrated song
I think this album may be the best of Born of Osiris. I hope they can continue this path. For now and later, I can enjoy this album. Great music.
So, how do you think BoO has done over the last 10 years?
@@jra7690 I think that, the discovery is the best album of boo
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I've always liked Born of Osiris's messages.

Best song on the entire album.
THIS IS INSTINCT, AUTOMATIC MOTION.
I can't hold my load past that part. Gets me every time.
Born of Osiris are defying the Gods of Music! \m/
It takes two sides to craft and album like this, some people just don't understand. Its Lee + Jason. Not Lee > Jason or Jason > Lee. Period.
great song from a great band \m/
He may of not been the sole writer..but he was in fact the main writer on this album.

In my opinion this band was in their prime for this album although I dig their latest album a lot.

1:40-1:52 that riff is just evil, damn.
metalandanimeyes Like Disney villain evil? because that wasnt shit in terms of evil.
@@omarrodriguez4237 idk man, its pretty down there on the scale, I'd put that riff up there with a humanitys last breath song
one of the smartest comments I've read on a BoO video in a long time
My hand just made an automatic motion to click the replay button.
who cares about who did what for the album? just be thankful you got an amazing album from a sweet band to listen to..
EPIC
I don't think it has anything to do with Jason being straight edge, I just think Jason is a badass guitarist. This album is so many levels above all of their others..
I couldn't place my finger on it until you said it. It does very much so haha.
He's a nice dude.
people like competition like football or video games the examples are everywhere.
WINNER WINNER 100 points to the WINNER!!!! lol nice

Hey, Jason wasn't the only member of the band when this was written. Just so your clear on that..
I understand that people dislike Jason, but I find it hard to see how you think Lee is better at any aspect of playing the guitar. I still think BoO are good, but Jason was/is a fucking beast and played a crucial part in the sound of this entire album.

SO YOURE SAYING THAT JASON RICHARDSON WROTE ALL OF THIS?.. BAHAHAHAHAHA!
CHECK OUT NEW REIGN (ORIGINAL RECORDING).. NO DOUBT THE LEADS ARE PRETTY INTRICATE ON DISCOVERY, BUT ATMOSPHERICALLY, THEYVE HAD THE SAME ORIGINAL STYLE SINCE BEFORE JASON.

Yeah I tend to forget to put that in.
@SedanoSkater Good I am not the only one who thought that :D.
straight edge should make Metal music more often.......
