Thanks you for making this video, I figured out what I was doing wrong; I was avoiding using melee combat as I feared the Takeda cavalry would be too strong, but I realise that drawing the enemy into a melee on its flanks is a great way to allow a losing unit to escape and avoid being overwhelmed. The timing of special orders is important too, waiting until the Takeda charge to slow them down and lower their attack capabilities is the key it seems.
I hate that in these newer nobunaga games there’s no like single units like a pure musket unit and just pure cavalry like in the earlier ones im not a fan of the combat system in these
bro, you need to read battle of nagashino, in this battle, the takeda has no chance even without u moving an arms. the oda snipes too good at that points

+Ferry Yohanes Just tried the battle, lost it as I was a little too aggressive with Mitsunari. I think if you use charge on Ieyasu's unit from the rear with Kobayakawa's 16000 it will be over pretty quickly. I'll see if I can get it recorded tomorrow.
Tried my best, got him down to ~1800 soldiers but still lost. I can't seem to confuse him at all, so you need to debuff him whenever you can with Yukinaga Konishi or Yasuharu Wakisaka. Keeping them alive with their small unit sizes is another problem.
How did you to fight this battle? When I started as the Oda at 1560 and later the Nagashino´s event appeared wasn´t a battle like this. It was just a merelly a pathetic "battle" between the Oda units and the units of Masakage Yamagata, Masatoyo Naito and Takeda Katsuyori along the road to Nagashino Castle.
I just followed the events as they came, I think. My guess is that either some of the Takeda generals involved died in your game before the battle or something else critical was missing that prevented it.
I did this with Dawn of Revolution which starts a bit earlier. I don't think the start date matters, so the closer to 1575 the better. If you want to be 100% sure you get the battle, there's a specific start date for Nagashino, but it's DLC. As for which clan to play, the Takeda have their own version of the battle where they win instead. I'm not sure if it unlocks the cutscene.

Which version is this: PS4 or PC? Is it easier to control the units in battle this time around compared to the last Nobunaga game? The last Nobunaga game, doing battle with the RTS type of controls was hard using a PS3 controller. Too difficult to keep track of all units moving around at the same time. I want to ask anyone who played this new game if the game uses the same type of RTS battle system? If it's better to use mouse and keyboard to control the units during battle then I'll buy the PC version.
+kyork888 This is the PC version. I haven't played the older games, so I can't say if the controls are any different. The battles are real-time, but you can pause them to issue orders. Moving the camera around with the mouse is a bit awkward, and the keyboard camera controls are a little too slow for me. I also haven't found any hotkeys anywhere, so I have to move the mouse to the top left corner every time I want to pause. If the controller can pause the game with a button then I think it would be fine if not better than M&KB.
+kyork888 Compare to older version.... the battle in this game has some different: + In the Irion Triangle PS2 and Tendou PS3, u can watch all the battle happen in a whole map( Real time phase ), since doing this can be a little tricky because u have to use everything of yourself to manage things and control units on battlefield, especially a large scale battles which happen everywhere - lead to an overwhelming and stressful when playing if u dont have a really good focus........And since the AI are very good on both versions, we will sure eat some "dirt" before we can unify all Japan.... :) -------> Influence on the other hand still keep the Action phase and Managing phase like its used to be, and has reduce some and add more function when battle, like when facing enemy, it will switch u to the battle view like Total War Game and fight. U can choose to auto resolve or control your battle which is new to the game and work perfectly......Just one thing, there will be No more random battlefield location, the only way to facing your enemy and Seige hostile provinces is The Roads...That mean now u just have to lead your army and wipe out anyone in your way...So believe it or not, Road system take an important part to lead your army to victory easier, since it will increase your marching speed and merchant business in your province... be sure to keep an eye on it :) - IN my opinion, i still prefer the older style with random battlefield location instead of Road battlefield only, challenging, easy to see and u can feel the tension between battles when they r fighting and use their skills... - The Newer Game Graphics is pretty good when u manage your city n see its grow, but in battle seem like a 2D model soldiers with random attacks....Not so realistic as it seem but acceptable, since KOEI really want to try something new and exciting to both FANS and newer player to this game.... ====> Thats all i find out about it, i dont usually fighting much in this game duo to boredom lol...! +Reza Thareeq Akbar I started with Nobunaga in Dawn of Revolution, and after following the historical quests for a fair bit it showed up. There's also a specific Battle of Nagashino scenario DLC which probably starts at the exact moment of the battle if you're willing to spend a few bucks for it.
+justskeptic You have to follow the historical quests that the game gives you. When you're at the right point in time as the right faction you'll get prompted to join a scripted battle. The fastest one you can get is probably Sekigahara, if you play as the Tokugawa or Ishida in the scenario.

I'm guessing that Sanada's "what our liege would have done" actually referred to Shingen, not Katsuyori?

not only ieaysu's unit is gigantic, it's LEA, VAL, and INT are also incredibly high. a dozen try and still no luck from me

You think that I should begin at "Nobunaga Besieged 1570" with either the Oda or Takeda to make sure that this event trigger?
