I have MS. I’m 30. There are time where I feel like my life has ended because I no longer have control of my body. Selma’s journey has empowered me. I cried each time she danced because it gives me hope that maybe I will still be capable in my 40s. I’m afraid one flareup, I’ll end up permanently in a wheelchair. The disease is debilitating. Thank you Selma for bringing so much awareness.

This is the prime example of a brave human being. She made her way through this compitition with much caution and she was brave enough to take a shot. And when it failed, she didn’t leave by the public or the judges choice, she left by her own. Thank you for being such an insperation. It is just unreal to me, that with Selma's battles with her health, and barely being able to walk at times during her illness, that she was able to masterfully perform on this show. She is a living miracle and an inspiration to all, and in my estimation (and I am sure many feel the same way) she won the competition, despite not being able to proceed officially. She has done so much, for so many, with the example of her life.

Sad to see her go. But glad to see her and her doctors have been closely monitoring her all season. And decided together that the halfway mark of the season was the best time for her to stop.
I was a Special Needs P.E. teachers aide my senior year in high school. And some of the kids had MS. So watching Selma this season has been very inspirational. Selma has been so wonderful to watch.
And now she can watch from the crowd and cheer everyone on.
But we will always be #TeamSelma

Anybody who isn’t totally in love with this woman, has no heart. Celebrating the best times in her life and fighting through the worst, taking the world along with her battle to help give others the strength to heal themselves, and making sure that everyone knows what to expect every step of the way, and how to best get through it. Showing what a beautiful woman she is, both inside and out. God bless her with her battle, and I absolutely adore her strength in even entering the competition, not to mention doing so well while she was there.
People like her, I want to hug, and never let go. Because no matter how much bad life throws at her, she remains positive and as happy as she can be. If the healthy people of this world can’t see how to live every day like it’s your last, through her battles, then you truly need to second guess your priorities. None of us know when any day could be our last or health issues could keep us from experiencing all we want to do. So every day you live unobstructed, should be one of the best days of your life. As I’m sure her or any other person with major health issues, will tell you. Every day is a gift. You can decide to unwrap it and toss it over your shoulder like it’s not enough for you or you can cherish the fact that you got that gift and absolutely adore it and the thought behind it.
Live life every day like it’s your last, love like it’s your first. Never let a moment go by without telling the people you love, how much you love them. Because one day they may not be there for you to do so.

This is the saddest good-bye I’ve ever seen on DWTS. I’ve seen contestants leave the competition because of horrible injuries. Sometimes contestants leave because of personal reasons. This is the first for me to see someone leave due to a medical condition, such as the case of Selma’s MS getting worse. What an exquisite dance they did together. No dry eye in the ballroom and those watching this on TV or online. I’m a big fan of Selma Blair since the ‘90’s, and it’s heartbreaking to see her suffer in this condition. It’s sad to hear that one time she said that she feels that she failed her son as a mother in the video. God bless both Selma and Sasha during this emotional night. Selma blew me away with her graceful dancing.

I will miss her so much but I am glad that she is prioritizing her health. With the "you can do anything" narratives that can form around disabled people, I was so scared that they would push her/she would push herself well past the breaking point. Sometimes we just can't do things, and Selma really exemplifies the bravery in dignity in that. I hate to use words like "empowered" and "inspirational" but seeing her go through this journey really did something for me, as a disabled person.
And Sasha, of course. He's been the perfect partner. He really went above and beyond in supporting her and finding ways to make choreography that works for her.

    • @wmhfv992

I think the most empowering thing is that she prioritized herself. It teaches us that it's not "giving up" if it's a decision that allows you to be safer. I am in the same camp of finding "you can do anything" narratives very problematic (I am not disabled, but my mother is), so the bravery she showed in making not just making this choice, but in being so transparent about how she came to the decision is what is inspiring to me. :)

It really is a difficult process to accept my own body's limitations, especially at this point of my life when my body should be working in its prime. Selma has every right to be proud of her run on DWTS, after having worked so hard and made it this far. Having dealt with mobility difficulties and balance issues myself, I can't help but be amazed at everything she accomplished over the past weeks. As a fellow disabled person, I absolutely despise "inspiration porn" because disabled people are just doing what everyone else on this planet is--trying our best to live and thrive with what we've got. But I've been rooting for Selma all season cause her doing the show is a HUGE deal, given how unpredictable MS (and disabled bodies in general) can be. All her roles have been ICONIC, but now, she's been immortalised in DWTS history for being a LEGEND. I was extremely worried about the fast dances (jive + quickstep) because stamina and technique, but both times, she ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT. Gotta say, I find it a damn shame that she was on the season that moved to Disney+, as her journey is one that deserves to be witnessed by millions (not just on TV, but also here on UA-cam!) It was truly remarkable to witness and behold. Sasha did an awesome job with her. I salute them both for a job well done. WE LOVE YOU SELMA! STAY STRONG!
