Hi quick question. Do I need to lock the camshaft in place, if I don’t plan on taking them out. Just taking the piece off to put on new gasket. Thanks in advance

same as the passenger side, I would wash it well with brake clean first and then drive it; you should be able to see where it's leaking exactly. It may just be the valve cover itself.
Hello Buddy, I need some help in getting few spare parts for my Skoda SUperb 2007 V6 TDI , The diesel is leaking (what I think) from tappit cover. COuld you please help ?
I would need to do a lot of research, not have an idea just off hand. I would start by washing everything first, and once clean, you may be able to identify exactly where it's actually leaking from. most likely an O-ring or rubber gasket.
The grey one is for where aluminum meets aluminum without a gasket. I use black on like oil pans and and valve covers that were made out of metal and not aluminum. Red is for high temperature places
I have a 2016 A6 2.0T. Mine is also mis firing also and went into limp mode. I checked the spark plugs and they have oil all over. This just happened this morning. I'm guessing I have the same issue.
Yeah, mine still gets some oil in there even after the repairs. I'm to the point that during an oil chage, I pull the coils and remove the pooled up oil with a syringe with a little hose on it. The wipe down the coils. I do it every 5k miles, about a year of driving

Hey man can you list all the gaskets and parts?

I never locked it in place. Just kept it strapped down, and it didn't turn or jump teeth.

Ah, the joys of the modern engine, over engineered to death.
