- Daniel from Saint Rita and Carly from Saint Clement (both of whom are Connect Four tournament champions from their clusters) face off in the Gold Medal match at this year's Regional Olympics.
Quarantine has me watching literally anything at this point

Ikr hahahaha
True. But this is actually kind of entertaining lol
I'm glad the "connect 4 world championship" is real.
Holy shit I've already commented on this video. History repeats unknowingly.
Lmao
Bruh this is so lame me and my dad play better than this
I think you have dementia
The game is solved
It is wack
@@SheepofChrist818 The game's solved, but that doesn't mean it's boring
This is so wholesome and so nice to see youth spending time together in a way that's not social media and/or videogames-related!

"gold medal match" - doesnt start in center collum
they would have lost against like half of the players on the connect 4 app
Yeah they made some major mistakes, red tried to use their either way they won move way too early in the game, but yellow saw it coming
Honestly, if you start in the middle, and play well, you automatically win no matter what
Its still allright if you dont start in center but they made a lot of minor mistakes that costed them the game
@@timmydadog it's literally optimal to place them in the middle the first few moves
2:42 “that’s a smart move “. lmao why
How about this move ua-cam.com/video/B4AK-FEpxG4/v-deo.html
that move was so shit to he should have moved one left.
@@firstlast7994 yep, to put pressure on her, she would have to play on... for fuck sake i cant believe i got mad at some kids playing 😂😂
Look at the 2 holes in the top right, if they both stall for the rest of the game the first person to fill one of the holes would be the girl, meaning the guy would win
i think he’s joking
The crowd was super annoying.
Jon as it is / It was kinda friendly match, so I think it's not much of inappropriate
No crowd ua-cam.com/video/B4AK-FEpxG4/v-deo.html
yeah they need to respect their top players more
THAT is the Gold medal match? Like, she started IN THE SIDE COLUMN
You don't know their prep. It's true that center is the only move winning by perfect play but humans don't play perfectly. Starting in the second column is actually very tricky.
Ik LIKE SERIOUSLY THI S iS cringe
@@Salomee. Who wants to battle me in connect four?
@@FightMusic say less when and where, or in what game
She could’ve won if she just waited and filled in all the other spots... at the end it would’ve literally forced her to win..smh
DirtyE yep
Nada de nada nope because it would’ve forced the other guy to win before she would’ve. Because say they fill first column then nothing happens then the second one he is forced to win like how he did or if she got to go where he went on his last play he would’ve went on top and got a connect 4 diagonally so he would win. And obviously that’s gonna happen before they mess with the last column because if the guy played it first she would win but if she played it first he blocks it

Zach Yepez she will win if she didn't messed up in the end
Zach Yepez oh yea looking at it carefully the guy win first
3:40 W A S T E D
I dunno why I looked this up
Guess I just wanted to know if it existed.
She had that odd-even match set up from R2 C5 diagonal up to R4 C3 (winning spot in R5 C2). From there she should have just played defensive
Yes
He just like me fr
The only possible way she could lose was to R4 C2, she needed to block that by placing R6 C4
I am internally screaming "Don't put it there!" At the end..
Fr, I saw that's a mile away😂
i think otherwise they would fill up the column on the left anyway and then she would be forced to put it there so she knew she was gonna lose maybe?
From 3:30 onwards yellow could guarantee a win by mirroring red's moves.
Connect four but it's a tournament
Your right, a big one.
CREEPER 125 HD AUTTP ya 😂😂
Easy dub
I love how it forms into a face with a hair and smilling
0:26 that move she just did is really bad, because if she had gotten a red piece in collumn 5 row 3, she could have formed two 3 long lines that would ultimately end up in a double trap, but she gives that amazing opportunity up by letting him take that
1:21 what she just did was really bad, as she could have blocked his double trap that he was forming. instead of placing the chip in slot 5 (which wouldve blocked off the second 3 long line) she plays in a completely irrelevant area way down at the bottom of the board. he then later forms that double trap, also opening up a new line in the process
2:41 that play was kinda irrelevant as it doesnt contribute to any existing lines and has a very low chance of actually making a 4 line
3:42 i dont understand how she didnt see how that would result in her loss, she had a whole other row to stall out in
0:26 How are you going to take it though? At this point if you can't find a way to get your piece on e3 you may as well play e2 and go for lines where you win by the last few moves. It's advanced, though.
1:21 e5 actually still loses to perfect play. It's not clear to see just yet why the d6 square is so important after e5 but her play was definitely worse.
2:41 Indeed. The person saying "that's a smart move" knows just as little about Connect 4 as the guy playing that move.
3:42 it didn't matter as much because a3 by Yellow would've won on a4 and b4.
she could have put it on F2
🤓
The other column wouldn't have saved her at the end
@@wavelino1668 0:26 It's not advanced at all, all she has to do is never play C5R2 and she wins.
1:21 Yeah, it's tricky to see C4R6 but it's also just a good space to take if you have no good options
How did I start watching this?
I love this old game ...
1:44 Imagine if he played g3, looking to then play e5.
That'd be a blunder, cuz of Nf6 check, picking up the queen
@@mlsanica7618 and it would be in that position that yellow would resign the game
That's a nice trap to set. At their level I wouldn't be surprised if they fell for it. Engine says it loses to d6, which is true because not having the d6 stone means you'll run out of options. So it's a nice trap, but risky. e5 followed by d6 was probably the easiest way to convert to a win.
@@mlsanica7618 but then rxf8 wins by checkmate
Anyone else notice they where playing Kinect 4 and the video was exactly 4 minutes long 😂
It's four minutes long their playing connect four and you have four like s
Connect four "champion": goes first and immediately makes a losing move
Bruh
I would agree with you since since the middle column will supposedly lead,if perfectly played,to a win.But taken the human factor most matches are started in the middle coloumn so most people memorize patterns from past games.Starting in the third or fifth column will confuse the opponent if he hasn't played before, and even if he doesnt will just lead to a draw,if again pefectly played.Allthough i got to say she she was far from a good player
its not a losing move with perfect play it will be a draw
@@mikao-o-o9403 if you make a move that loses the opportunity for a certain win, you technically lost the win and that's pretty much a "losing move"
@@n8likesmath i understand what youre saying but i think its a thing of definition. From my perspective of view its a drawish move because at the end of the day its a draw.
-Greetings from germany
@@mikao-o-o9403 I agree it totally depends on what either person defines a "losing move" to be. I for sure wouldn't be able to play a perfect game anyway 😂😂 Greetings from US!
For most of the game, b5 was a key node. Both sides needed that location to win. For the whole game, no other nodes were as decisive. However, g6 was also a key node. Yellow needed to prevent red from getting that node, or else red wins. Moreover, red had a better opening, because red went went for the center earlier in the game.

True as shit. Like how about that little boy shuts the fuck up ugh what an idiot. I hate such people
That doesn t did anything the guy was smarter that s all

Either way they still trash whether they are concentrated or not
Very impressive.
I have been playing connect 4 on my phone. This shows up in my youtube feed. Everyone is watching Loki.

Litarly this whole time i was watching that one spot and i was like yea thats the spot and boom it was
3:05 after the girl made that move, she lost the game
She could've still won after this actually but these players suck
I took another look and nvm she lost after this move
She could easily win even after that move.
I didn't know that this is a serious game we just played it as long as we enjoyed
We’ve all played those same moves, gotta step your game up
I see y’all talking bout r4 c9 or something like that and I don’t get it a single bit
How to play this game?
Red and black are the only colors the pieces should be!
Red and yellow is traditional
I have played this since i was 9
Great camera angle
What is the name of the game? *please answer
Playing a very competitive connect 4 game is very simular to playing chess if you never had played chess before
At 3:30, I believe that if she just matches every one of his moves (like goes on top of where he goes) she will win
what a master i have aready play connect four in school and won 3 master player without losing and im a champion😊😊😊
What game is this
omg exactly what I thought!!! Good.thinking!

@@thewikid8815 The pseudo-threat in column 1 that made it inevitable, I'd guess. It was sneaky and probably neither player realized it

super
In the last part, red doesnt already have a chance to win. All she needs to do is to draw the game. While yellow has 2-3 possible ways to finish it.
If this is put to an anime, this might be better
Well idk if this is actually competitive or just normal casual game of CF but if there is a large scale tournament this would not have ended this way

Player 1 always wins in 7×6 grid given player 1 always plays in the centre and knows every variations.
Here Player 1 played in the 3rd column. 3rd/5th columns in 7×6 is a tie while 1st/2nd and 6th/7th columns are always forced wins by player 2. Of all the cases requires best play.
3:01 if he placed his piece to make a double 3 on top of eachother, it would of set up a clear death trap
No it wouldn’t work
He already had a lethal death trap, he had a reverse seven which has the same effect from 1:20
@@piggish7491 her having her 3 diagonal pieces won her the game. He couldn’t use anything above that and that gave him like four chances to win if not for that set. She could’ve easily won by forcing him to place everywhere till too right and stacking up middle left was left so he would’ve gave it to her.
@@piggish7491 The 7 doesn't matter. As long as she plays C4R6, she wins by parity. Even disregarding parity, two players having the same threat on the same space means the game can never progress past that space, so the threat on R6 is irrelevant again.
Imagine not going centre column first move
2:47 should be 1st red on the left and its tie
Well... people playing far from optimal is what keeps this fun...
