I was staying at Todmorden a few years ago, and sirens 🚨 started going off was a worrying sound. I asked a local what was going off, and they said a flood warning ⚠️ great video. Your mums got a good lad.
The sirens sound like something out of a war movie but they need them down the valley. The hills are over 1400ft above with all the run off converging in the Calder
Hi Steve, I had to get some extra supplies in for her earlier on in the week before the snow and ice came. I think that the river levels have subsided now but yesterday I had to be safe than sorry. My mum used to everything for us all when we were kids including with my father. I know where her stash of Jaffa Cakes are now too 😁
Morning my friend, that was one hell of a call out ,it reminded me of one my early morning boat cruises on the LB Sir John Fisher, but I didn't get as wet 😊
Hey up Old Guy. You need to write a memoires book. I bet you have a few tales to tell. My mate was up in the Lakes on Thursday doing a mountain bike leaders course. I told him about you as I reckon he might have been on some trails that you know.
I noted that on a previous video you said “I Love it” and looking at the state of the roads and the dangers encountered I would agree 100% a proper tough old Lancashire Lad 🥇🚴♂️🎥🥶💦☔️🌧️💪
At the end of every ride I get a real feeling of my senses being heightened and moreso after riding in bad weather it just gives it that extra edge. It's hard to explain it is a kind of an addiction Ronnie 👍
@ I don’t doubt it💪 I have been itching all day and I kept popping my head out but it was either raining hard or gale force but as an ex builder I should be used to that so this is the prompt I need 👌🥇
Lovely video Daz, there was a bit of a lull in the weather around 11pm last night and I think that prevented any major flooding round here. There will be plenty of water around for my Monday ride though.
We had another deluge about an hour ago Terry. Just watch out for puddles with hidden potholes, I'd stick to routes where you know the road layouts and where the usual grids and what have you are.👍
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures ... and I can see from that delightful little moment, that her laugh always makes you laugh too. It reminded me that some things in life are more precious than all the Pennines routes and all the gold pans put together. Priceless.
I ride up there once a week to get some bulky items in the cupboards and to make tea for her but she's really independent and will walk to the shops if the bus isn't on time. That can be about 3 miles each way Michael
Different generation to the ones now, mine will stand out in the rain waiting for the bus just to use her buss pass, despite dad leaving her quite well off when he passed away, will not get a taxi.they don't make them like that anymore do they?.
Here in Cumbria, my Ebike, my dag and mysel, took one look at the Weather, and we ALL Refused to go Outside!! Im thinking of investing in a kayak, and team of huskies with a Sled!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Before I got ill, it was never a problem,,,even in winter, as soon as my mother couldnt see me,,, ~I chucked off the scarves, gloves and wooly hat!!(& the duffle-coat!!!) Thank you for your kind reply, and looking after your Mum!! ...XxX....
Keep wrapped up Andrea. We are not too far away from the winter solstice now either so we've just got to keep on with our daily routines and look forward to spring
Good to see you taking care of loved ones and making it work for you. Important this time of year to be making the extra effort to get out. I'm manly on my 29er MTB at the moment. Cycled over to Sheffield off road in the snow the other day. Epic ride! I'm off the end of the month if the weather breaks give me a shout and we'll get out.
Hi Andy the MTB will keep you fit. Did you see Patrick Dickinson on your travels. He makes some great videos about camping up on Kinder and Bleaklow. And yes, my mum's got plenty of goodies and meals to keep her going for the time being. She still walks to the town to do her shopping but is limited as to what she can carry, even on the bus. Hopefully the weather will settle down and we will be able to get for a ride soon buddy 👍
I've been watching a UA-cam channel streaming live take off and landings from Gatwick today. Flying in them conditions ! Sod that for a game of soldiers were my thoughts. Storm Bert has been a bit of a swine. I'm happy on the old bike buddy 🙂🌧👍

Well done for being the fourth emergency service. Your Mum is a lucky lady to have you. 👏👍😊

Thank you Jennifer. I was that wet I had to sit on some towels in the kitchen 👍😊

@MrDazP1adv3ntures just one road flooded going up to Inglewhite but generally ok . One muddy bike to wash in the morning.
I recon your Mom's the star of the show in this one! 😊👍
Cheers, the bags I took up last week were even heavier, she couldn't lift em and it always makes her laugh 🙂👍

She always tells me to ride carefully and not go too quick down the hills. Makes me chuckle every time because I know what I'm like
I cycled through the snow and ice to and from work
It was pretty good on Thursday and Friday if you like an adventure before or after work John👍
Look after your mum Mr Daz she is the best friend you will ever have !

Yes I know exactly what you mean Michael. They tend not carry the entitled card with them either.

Weve got a dog like that 😂@MrDazP1adv3ntures
That's exactly what happened yesterday with my old lab John
Well done that man
Were you in the SBS Daz?
