I've been a David Gray fan since I first heard his track "Babylon" over 10 years ago. I adore Annie Lennox.
Hey there music, hope you’re doing well after two years. I absolutely fell in love with David’s “White Ladder” album. I had no idea he had done a duet with Annie L until this randomly came on My ol’ iPod and I recognized her voice.
@@bugpal I cant believe i first came across him back in 2002, 20 years now, times flown by. Got his albums on a memory stick thats in my car.
I have had a crush on Annie Lennox for 40 years, she is more amazing now than ever.
I love performers who sing with passion and conviction, and no one does that better than Annie Lennox and David Grey!
What I love about this song is that while it seems obviously to be about the "demise of western society" because of a financial crisis, the lyrics are open enough to be applied to a relationship between two people. It's a very versatile song, and like a lot of his stuff could be interpreted many ways.
That being said, He and Annie Lennox together is a match made in heaven. :)
Oh ANNIE. I am freaking balling to this song I think I have played it 6 times already and I have shared it with like 6 people on facebook. Its got me shaking like a leaf or a rattled bone. Wondering about peple who are going hungry and war all over. You got me wide awake. The song is about the paradox activities in our world. We the people in our industrialized world have blindly bought into the concept that money and consumption is the dream and will give us the nourishment and happiness we need. It's become evident that we are astray from the source of true happiness and yet we still run blindly, FULL STEAM AHEAD -- Despite the conflicts we face with our fellow creatures and the planet itself. We all saw it coming and we still bought it.

I first started hearing this on QRadio Birmingham England. Made me seek it out... its so damn addictiive. didnt even know Lennox was singin on it.. what a song...they sound so awesume together...the beat is sooooo different... Annie ur awesume.

this song is probably the best song in that way that she has a deep voice with a strong compation in her soul not only to prove that she is the best and a good singer(in a way she is) but she sings it and means it. i love the fact that the money made out of the song goes to good causes
