Nice picture of Tucker, Stevens and Met. Manager Bing, (from Carmen) Tucker started singing the role there in 1952 and did the radio Brdcst. of it that year, the aria from the performance , (the Flower song) with him singing it on you tube in decent sound for 1952.
Ed Rosen had put it out at the time on a two record set, his own label #ERR-139-2 but then it was gone, nice to have it back again, in fact Tucker at the time also tried to get "Nilsson" besides all the others, but she was not available at that time. He was 56 years old here, still powerful and solid. RIP.
@@promptersbox Tucker and Nilsson had already sung Aida, Ballo and Turandot together at the Met. in complete performances , but since he was singing "Aida" with Price in the concert , they may have sung the Ballo duet (He sang the Ballo Met. radio Brdcst. with Nilsson in the 1963 Run of the opera there. )

Can you imagine Nilsson added to the mix?
