I was there when the guys launched this album at Cheap thrills on Bishop street, Montreal. It was a tiny space for the launch and IIRC an excellent summer day for it. Brought the record home with a super thread-bare tee with the same graphic above - the tee was something like 3 bucks. Metro and train home to the 'burbs with the best memories of a great day out.
I used to request this on an almost weekly basis on CJAM - university of windsor radio in the late 80's.....kept me awake during late night sessions in the lab.
I was 18 in Ohio. We heard these guys from across the lake on Brave New Waves. Deja Voodoo fundamentally changed the way I understood what could be *still be gotten away with*. Thank you Deja Voodoo and Brave New Waves for being some of the only Voices of Weird to reach Toledo in the late 80's. This band had a terrible influence on every band I've been in since then, and extremely degenerate behavior has resulted that would probably not make them happy about it. Deja Voodoo, I thank you, my students thank you, our bands thank you. There are some club owners and perhaps lawyers who might not, but eh, who cares.
I recorded this with my ghettoblaster off the college radio station when I was 15. Every time someone said 'cheese and crackers' for the last 40 yrs...
I thought my friends and I were the only ones who even heard of this song! Such memories singing this at the top of our lungs in drunken revelry!
Wow. Like a commenter below, I have been singing cheese and crackers for 40 years. Driving my family crazy. Love this memory.
