  • RED WHITE and BLUES "The Early Years" Track 3 - Alone.
The Red White and Blues band came out of Rochester N.Y. I believe around the late 60's early 70's. This was one of my Dads (Earl "SLUG" Jetty) first projects, I believe this band was his brainchild. This is a live board recording I got from one of My Dads friends/fans who attended many of these shows back in the day. The CD is Titled "RED WHITE and BLUES -The Early Years" Has 9 songs and says "Flicker Rec." Recordings of this band are very rare! Please comment if you have more info on this band (like line up) for me so I can update it. Enjoy!

I completely lost track of Werner when I moved from NYC to LA. Great to hear this stuff.

RIP Barry Sullivan (bassist) I've had the honor of playing in one of his concurrent bands. Love this band's sound

+MeSu2713 Your welcome! There is a label from Spain that wants to release this recording on cd and vinyl I think. Trying to work it out. I have hardly any info on the band though. These recordings are the only thing I ever got from father...that and my looks and drumming skills maybe lol

+Till Fritzsching I have a label interested in releasing this session on cd/vinyl. If you or anybody you know can write up a little band story about R.W.B. for me that would be cool.

Win Lewis: helped set a few times. Mainly worked for "Rainbow, Rain, Harlot". knew Earl the best. Grew up by Don't Maracle, worked some for Joshua. Have tapes of Red, White and Blues Band last concert, 1970, Joshua, Rain, Harlot. Not in phone book, call 411. Like to get some put on CD. Email messed up, call. In city. Great to hear!!

Always thought they were from Detroit/Ann Arbor. Guess not, but I remember WKNR-FM and WABX playing them.

The title of this song was "Dreams" I posted some info about the band on one of the other track postings. I have your email address so I'll get you some more history. I may also have some cuts you haven't posted. Do you have a cut of "Old Age"? Earl does a timbali solo in it. Timbalis were set up center stage and Earl would walk out from behind his drums and do his thing. Brought the house down when we opened for Mountain.

+Barry Sullivan You're band kicked some ass. Black Sheep (Lou Gramm) was another Rochester Band

Black sheep was not an important band in Rochester, IMO. Mediocre outfit w Completely forgetable songs. Louie Grammatico obviously talented... as a drummer and a singer! They worshipped Paul Kossof & Paul Rodgers of Free and basically were pretending to be stars in the hope that someone would believe them. In Louie's case it worked but only because he had the voice for it.

This sounds a bit Black Sabbath Influenced, in a good way... if that's possible! Werner Fritzching had an amazing touch and some killer licks.
