@@EdwardBartel Lol. The table is based on points not goals. Goal difference is worth half a point. It's irrelevant how many goals you score and concede overall. We conceded loads last season but we had more points than under the Yank because they were confined to a handful of games against the top teams. If you think getting smashed by Man City and Liverpool away is equivalent to getting smashed by Brentford away or Palace at home then I don't know what to say. Under Bielsa, we very rarely got beat at all by teams around us, and almost never got smashed. Even last season when the squad was a joke. Gracia has had to play 4 games without Tyler Adams (and 2 without Wober). The defensive lynchpin of our team. We've conceded 18 goals in 6 games without him. Under the Yank, we conceded 3 at home to Fulham without Adams, 3 at home to CIty (it should have been 6, xG was huge). It's completely the Yank's fault. He had a pre-season, 20 games and was given a completely overhauled squad with 7 new signings (plus an additional 3 in January). In stark contrast to what Bielsa had to work with last season. And he got fewer points and every important performance metric was worse. Last season we were unlucky, Meslier was awful, we hit the woodwork 18 times and we had the most injuries in the league. This season we got what we deserve. The only good thing about the Yank was that his system worked well against top teams who committed to playing out from the back. Gracia is an average manager but the Yank is a poor manager. We should never have stabbed God in the back, we'll never have a manager of that calibre again.

It's clearly a Leeds thing to collapse. In the championship we were 2 or 3 nil up against Cardiff and ended up drawing 3-3. 1-0 up against 10 man Wigan and ended up losing 2-1.
Remember that there are a fair amount of players (especially senior) who were there both at that Derby game and yesterday. We need better experienced pros in this squad
Being aggressive and physical is the only thing Struijk is good at. That's why Bielsa liked him and thought he could play the DM role. He had some of Kalvin Phillips' attributes (without the ball). He's very physical and aggressive. Koch is the one who isn't. The truth is our defence has looked shambolic whenever KP, Adams or Wober hasn't played over the last 3 years. None of the rest of the defensive unit are good enough. Meslier, Koch, Struijk, Cooper, Firpo, Ayling, Rasmus (although he deserves some more chances before being written off). They're all Championship players. Koch looks okay when he has Wober next to him and is still young for a CB so could be good enough, but he's not good enough to be starting. We need a new GK, CB, LB, RB and DM. We don't even have a backup DM for Adams, which is spectacular mismanagement from Orta. We've averaged 3 goals conceded per game when Adams hasn't played this season. This result shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Adams and Wober are our defence. And with Adams out for the rest of the season we will continue to ship goals. Which makes staying up very, very difficult. And what solutions do we have in our squad? Playing Koch, Struijk or Wober at DM. With Roca/Mckennie in a double pivot we're wide open. I wouldn't take Wober out of the defence, so it's a toss-up between Koch and Struijk. I'd probably keep the defence in tact and try Struijk there. He's poor on the ball can be destructive and protect the defence. But I don't think Gracia will do this, nor does he probably even know our CBs can play at DM. And Ayling, Christ. I love the guy but he's been disastrous defensively for most of the season. He must have cost us 10 goals since the Man U games. Full backs are usually done at 30 under normal circumstances. The Bielsa fitness levels are well and truly gone and he looks like he's running in porridge. How Gracia hasn't dropped him (he doesn't even sub him) is mind-blowing. And then there's the laughable sight of Bamford and Aaronsen being our central goal threats. Aaronsen with 1 goal in 24 games (and that was a tap-in into an empty net) from 37 shots (8 on target!). And Bamford with 3 goals from an xG of 6.4 (37 shots). That's 4 goals from a combined 74 shots (22 on target, 1 in 3.5). Which means they need over 18 shots to score a goal. Bamford can't even control the ball, he's Bambi on ice. They work hard and press, but is that really worth the trade-off? Oh, and one of Bamford's goals was a deflected shot that was off-target. I'd like to see Gnonto playing in the 10 behind Rodrigo. Or Sini in the 10. And then we have the problem of all our wingers wanting to play on the left. Harrison is useless on the right, always has been. Also, Gracia has shown nothing. We were dominated against Brighton and Wolves and were lucky af to take 4 points from those games. We beat the two worst away teams in the league at home, and the Southampton win wasn't convincing at all. I hope he isn't here next season.
