    As a Coventry fan, I agree with a lot of what you've said
    I think January will be a very important month for us
    We need at least 1 more midfielder, ideally someone creative who can cover for Rudoni, and we need a new starting left back,
    because as much as I love Jake Bidwell, he is the obvious weakness in our best 11 now.
    Also, Norman Bassette is going to be some player, from what I've seen he plays very similar to Gyokeres, very exciting prospect

    A big source of frustration with the fanbase is that theres no real reason to excuse the poor start bar the coaching team revamp and losing O'Hare (who i dont think we were too reliant on as we played lots of last season without him) last season we were gelling in a lot of new players as you pointed out, the season before we werent playing any home games until a fair few gameweeks in due to pitch issues, still both those seasons we picked up the pace eventually so im still hopeful, though i think we'll fall short - delighted to be proven wrong of course.

    Callum think the issue is away from what’s going on on the pitch. I along with others went into this season feeling positive (I predicted us to finish 2nd ffs)
    Something just isn’t right. Vivash leaving so soon after Dennis Laurence. Mark Robins based off his interviews seems really fed up.
    To touch on the experienced players leaving, we’ve not replaced them and owner Doug King seems very against signing older players. Despite spending millions on players we will highly unlikely sell for a profit.
    As for the defensive change around. Robins is always keeping a back 4 together for them to have an absolute stinker so he’s changing the team with his depth in centre half. Funny considering we are crying out for a few more midfielders after losing 3 in the summer.

    Completely agree with your MR comments. He deserves the time considering what he's done.
    Swansea at home was an utterly woeful performance, it was mind boggling how they can go from destroying spurs for 87 mins, to looking like they've never played together before. That said, the chances are being created, it's just not clicking as you said. Even one of the players said that we create 8 or 9 chances and score maybe 1, while teams against us are making 1 or 2 and scoring both times.
    Cov seem to have a habit of starting slow, happened over the two last seasons. The only downside this time is we've lost alot of the older heads, which is painfully obvious when we're down 1-0 and no one is taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Hopefully you're right in it just needing something to click and can push on.
    I joked yesterday that we'll probably batter Leeds away then lose to Sheff Wed at home as it's a very typical Cov thing to do.

    • @robertmason6366
      @robertmason6366 Місяць тому

      For a start we went from L2 to the championship in 3 seasons under hardship of no money, shit owners and playing at St Andrews. After 2 years of consolidation in the championship and getting hamer, gorkores,COH and Sheaf for less then 3 million we were 1 penalty away from the prem. Wilder did well at sheff United but they had no off the field problems until recently where they've overspent and got a pitiful 2 point deduction as punishment. In our play off season we had to play our first half a dozen games away from home because wasps couldn't afford to repair the pitch after the commonwealth games. Our owners at the time rang up Blackburn to ask if they still wanted hyam so we can pay for the pitch. This was against Robins wishes and we still got to 5th. Wilder has had none of these problems of the pitch. Now he has parachute payments where he can chuck absurd wages around like confetti. In addition Wilder was pitiful at Boro and was backed and sacked by the most generous and patient chairman in the league. Hope that clears it up...

We also didn’t overspend and get a points deduction, we were so poor we could afford payment plans we’d made for transfers in the prem as our owner doesn’t invest money into us. You have also explained how you had a 100 million pound striker and the current best player in the league and STILL didn’t get promoted haha, wilder isn’t in the same league as robins haha like comparing pep with Steve cooper. Different levels. Ask anyone in football and they’d tell you the exact same thing

      @@joewatson8640you still owe us 10m for hamer, how DK allowed that is ridiculous. As for Goykores and hamer it takes more then two players to get promoted no matter how good they are. In contrast to the hamer deal DK played a blinder getting 20m with a sell on clause as he had 1 year on his contract. Gyokores is only proven at championship level and there are only 3 teams in Portugal. But we can take your word for it that Robins turned someone who couldn't get a game on loan at Swansea into a 100m striker...not bad hey? Like I said Wilder was incredibly poor at boro and sheff utd were a laughing stock of the Premier last season. We have a more rounded squad instead of a couple of stars. We missed out on the PL on sudden death penalties. Mark Robins has never had the luxury of throwing ridiculous wages to entice players to the club. You judge a manager by what hand he's been given. No way would wilder have had the same level of success with the lack resources Robins has had. This is why he's one of the longest serving managers in the country. @@A57Q1 I agree and I do have faith in him, so much so if he goes I will debate whether I continue going up this year

      @@richardwatts20I'm also pretty disappointed but it's our life as cov fans lol. Let's just hope we get the ball rolling sooner rather than later. I hope we do so over the next 5 games, I am hopeful we turn up against Leeds and turn it around (quite optimistic) but we need to get into the swings of things this weekend. At the minimum a good performance
