Dynamic Lego Sculpture - Technic Gears

- I recently updated my banner image on my social media sites to a picture that shows a series of Lego Technic gears inter-meshed with each other.
Someone asked if the gears actually work in real life, so I built my banner image using real Lego gears and pieces to show that it does, and I learnt a few things along the way.

Amazing. Satisfying. Compelling. I instantly wanted to build this, but I need to get more different gear sizes first. And it'll be smaller... reminds me of the working gear heart I built ❤️
Very cool.
Thanks :-D
Perfect
Wow its amazing
Very cool !
That is astounding! So memorising when seen in action!
Thanks :-D
Your models are great to watch in action too!
Hypnotic. I dig it!
Thanks :-D
The use of chain to drive a few portions of the moc is quite interesting. Nice work!
Thanks. I needed to make sure the gears were rotating in the correct direction, and sometimes that is easier and more compact with chain links than it is with multiple gears.
Put it on motor please
That's a great idea. I might have to try that.
Cool!
thats interesting amount of gears here
That's cool
Thanks :-D
You should use an animated version of this in your intros
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep that idea in mind when I create my next video. :-D
Awesome! What gear did you use for your logo?
Thanks :-)
My logo was printed onto paper, and then stuck onto a 36 tooth gear using double-sided tape.
Nice ! I see you gain many subscribers till I talk about you in april 17', thanks to your widget toy, that is cool !
Hi Nico, thanks for the kind words and for featuring me on your Vlog last year :-)
Your Vlog has introduced me to several other interesting channels/builders too.
Find the gear thats the odd one out
Can you make the instructions of this machine?😍⚙️😍
I don't have instructions for this model. If you study the video closely and are familiar with Lego Technic pieces you should be able to see enough information to recreate this model yourself though. The gears can be set up in any number of ways, so you could also build you own similar (yet different) model.
Just like my banner picture, but I can't move, LOL
:-D
OMG...
Not bad... but you could use a few more colourful gears ;)
Hehe, yeah. I was going to use black 20T gears too, which would have made it even more monochromatic, but I didn't have enough spare ones so I used tan instead. Next time I'll contact you to borrow some of your colourful gear collection... ;-)
I've had this style of build (huge wall of interconnected gears) as an idea to try for many years now.. You've done a really good job getting them to run fairly smoothly.. good idea to feed them from hidden axles behind!
Thanks Rohan. The reinforced frame and 'power injection' definitely help to get it running smoothly.
You should have seen my first attempt at this - it had so much friction that the gears furthest from the input didn't want to turn at all!
You haven't added a video in so long. 🙂
Yeah, it has been a while since my last video - life has been a little bit busy. I hope to have more videos coming soon...
