What wrong with people from other nationals? When Nigerian's were jamming to Reggae with the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, etc and even South African's own Lucky Dube, Nigerians weren't complaining. We even had our own musicians like Ras Kimono, Majek Fashek, Oritis Williki, etc sing Reggae. Nigerians were listening to other genre and sounds of music from African like Makossa and music from the Congo and South Africa with the likes of Brenda Fasser, Yvonna Chaka Chaka and others. All these sounds were hitting our airwaves and we were dancing and singing to the music. Now Nigeria musicians has crafted and honed their music which is now accepted internationally due to their hardwork, resilience and money. Ironically, Nigerian musicians are hated because others appreciate our music more. This nonsense must stop. I have to listened other African music and if it's appeasing, it will definitely be in my playlist. The more others keep hating the rise of Afrobeats, more and more will appreciate it's sounds and unique language associated with the music. I have observed that more people want to speak the pidgin English because of our music and movies. Abeg, no dey hate us. No be we cause am, na Grace. Do your own thing, hopefully grace go locate you. Naija to the world always.

Afrobeats however are now using carribean styles more frequent in their music. And they have already used black american styles in their music. But sometimes its gets annoying. I understand the way how dancehall has a negative turn currently but its also an exaggeration comparing the positive and overall influences of AfroBeats to Carribean and black american music. It’s the other way around. Music in the Americas are the influencers of Afrobeats period.

Turns out his two daughters are freaks of Afrobeat. He tells me that his house, his cars are all extension of Afrobeat music. Of course his children have Naija children as friends in college. He tells me that he has listened, he finds the sound interesting, lively, original and very African. He was however sad that his children are more interested in Afrobeats these days than his native dancehall. It was a proud me Omo Naija that took him on a journey of how we started.

Perfect commentary brother. You said it all.
Afro beats and all related Afro music sub genres are on the rise along with the good image of Africans all over the world. It removes hate and racism against Africans in carnivals or music concerts, it breaks the ice between races so they can learn about each other’s music. These African descendants hating or being jealous about Nigeria do not understand the Nigerian spirit, it thrives where there is opposition, racism, hate and jealousy. Nigerians don’t back off without a fight or without trying to prove that they can cut it at the very top with anyone. And they invest a lot of money to pursue their dreams. These jealous minority in Jamaica and the Caribbean are going to be crying in the old age when everyone around them start to play all African musics including Afro beats in 30 years time. What you can bet is the fact that Nigeria is leading Africa’s music and entertainment movements right now. Every single gifted African entertainment industry from Ghana to the Congo will work in partnership with Nigeria or just simply challenge Nigeria and bring out their own authentic and unique African sound. And they will all make money, the beauty of this system right now is that they don’t need to spend way too much money to market it globally because Nigeria has done the ground work for them showing them how the big boys do it. African musics will go global and western countries will start to invest in it too to make money off it too. They are very good business people with very sound judgement, whatever the global audience are listening to is what they will invest in. Nigeria has arrived to break down every single doors and barriers that were shut against African. Besides melanated skinned people of the Caribbeans are of African descent and as such are our family. We already opened the doors of Africa to them to return home to the lands of their ancestors to have dual citizenship, take advantage of what Caucasians have been enjoying and making money. Nigeria is the biggest black nation in the world and those irrelevant minorities are way too unintelligent to stand in our way. They would be swept aside and given baby feeding bottles to suck and moan as we strive for greater heights. Nigerians will not rest until astronauts are playing Afro beats in space. We are just starting the journey. Phase two is about to start. Africa will rise as a collective, and nothing can stop it.

As a Jamaican I can tell you, most of us knew it was only a matter of time before dancehall music get put on the back burner. While most of the dancehall artists are busily saluting their own music which degrade women and promote violence the rest of the world is moving on to something more palatable. I don't listen to dancehall music. I don't stand for what they are " preaching". Afro beat has replaced dancehall on the global scale, good for afro beat. Hope it will encourage the dancehall artist to write better lyrics. They have no one to blame but themselves.

You see how stupid we as black people can be. Rather embracing each other and enjoying the different talent and sounds amongst each other. Here we're once again comparing which sound is better than the other. What will be mind blowing is that, if we can mix dance hall and afro beats together to create a new wave of sound. Going on showing media and pushing this type of trend is simply showing other race that we as black people will forever remain separated. So, what if Nigerian music is dominating? I'm proud of that and I am not even Nigerian, a Ghanaian to be precise. COME ON BLACK FOLKS, LET'S STOP THIS NONSENSE. #TOGETHER WE THRIVE, DIVIDED WE FALL. let us not allow history to repeat itself where we hate each other for no reason. COME ON BLACK FOLKS, THE BEAST IS WATCHING.

I went to a mall last night in Dubai to get some stuffs I could eat, to my greatest surprise, for over an hour that I spent shopping, 100% of the songs coming outta from speakers are purely Nigerian music, I'm talking about a shopping Mall owned by Asians. I experience the same thing when I went to catch some fun at the beach same in Dubai, all the songs coming out of 90% of the cruise boats are purely Afrobeats 'cos it brings out the vibes in you and that's for you to know that we've finally gotten the kinda recognition we deserve the world over.
    AfroBeat is here to stay!!!

Yes, Nigeria is the face or the head of Afrobeat, but the body is not only the face or the head. Every Afro nation is contributing its own flavor and we are all mixing the flavors into one Afrobeats. This is why Afrobeat will be unstoppable.

Don't let those who hate us create divisions amongst us based on music. We should appreciate all African music be it continental or diaspora.
Let us celebrate and enjoy all the wonderful music made by our people. Afrobeats, Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Reggae, Amapiano, House, Afro House, Apala, R&B, Soca, Calypso, etc.

Well said bro, black people all over the world should be wise for once and stop back biting in issues concerning us all.
My best reggae icon Peter Tush said in his music way back that ""no matter where you came from as long as your a black man your an African""
Afro beat or afro dancehall it's ours black creation with natural instruments from our maker so be you Jamaican, Guyana, Trinidad/Tobago whatever respect motherland forget all this crap from the enemies of divided and rule mentality.
Believe we are the original authentic it's win win brothers and sisters big up to my blood in foreign land let's be wise 🇯🇲 🇬🇹 🇬🇳 🇧🇷 🇳🇬
