- The hymn " Yeshuvae Polundo" ( I've found a friend, O such a friend) sung by the 250 voice choir from some of the leading choirs in Central Kerala sing this so effectively.

Recorded live at CSI St Thomas Church Tholassery Thiruvalla in 2014.
This was the first Malayalam album and the logistics of co ordinating with choirs and practice was overcome by the excellent singing by the choristers. The commitment to choir singing is unmatchable.
Classic Hymns has recorded over 100 Hymns so far and the live recording of Mass Choir is the salient feature of the album. This is so amazing....I was raised among the Mennonite tradition of singing like this.....I didn't know there are people in India singing these hymns....so beautiful and encouraging
Language is Malayalam. I don't think you would be surprised to know that St. Thomas ( doubting Thomas ) reached coastal Kerala and established churches since 52 AD.
Abegraber so was I. I'm Holdermam Mennonite or used to be we were raised acapella only the four-part is great but do not agree with all their doctrines

This hymn " Yeshuvae Polundo" is sung in Malayalam a south India language spoken in Kerala. Is the translation of the age old English hymn "I've found a friend, O such a friend" ,. As you can see its sung by a 250 voice choir and they are from the leading choirs in Central Kerala . There are many more choirs of top quality but due to space in the church had to keep it at 250.

The young man playing as organist is doing a great job, and i'm sure he's feeling Christian passion hearing the powerful congregation singing, but he's not showing any emotion. He needs a good, strong pipe organ.....that'd put a smile on his face! Great to hear such powerful praise of our Christian faith!!!

Dear Ann, St. Thomas, one of the 12 disciples of our Lord while preaching the good news in India,...sadly was murdered by the locals. Mount St. Thomas, just outside the city of Madras, now called Chennai, is the spot where he was killed. Christianity came to India before it came to Europe. We used to go to the State of Kerala for our summer vacation to see our cousins. On Sundays, it was a pleasure to see everyone in their spotless clothes walking to church. Even as a young boy, i felt the holiness of the day. Loved it!.
