Less judgement more empathy and understanding. Action speak louder than words.

this deserves more views but am stunned no comments left. I've seen Cathy Come Home several times and what will strike people is this was a docu-drama made in 1960 and there was a Labour government led by Harold Wilson from 1964 to 1970 and 74 to 76 and the issue of homelessness, and Dickensian policies which are Classicist in taking the children away and subjecting the poor to cruel and punitive treatments much like Ken's recent film 'I Daniel Blake' can't be overlooked. The Labour government of 45 and the early 50s was in power for a brief period and though much needed socialist reforms took place, they sadly where in power briefly and then came Tories, a moderate Labour government of Wilson and others, in which Dickensian policies and classicism which is the ongoing curse of British politics where every small gain that is made it just takes the elites of either party to move three steps backwards. And while I saw hope in Corbyn, we are beginning to see that the socialist reforms are getting more diluted, Corbyn and folks like Dennis Skinner and other Labour MPS keep airbrushing the horrendous neo-liberal era of the Blair-Brown years where the gap between rich and poor was at its greatest according to BBC documentarian Adam Curtis, where tuition fees and the first free-market reforms where introduced to the NHS and education with PFI, and yet Corbyn, and others keep talking about "how during those years we reduced child poverty, and it was a golden era of the NHS" a load of bollocks. Business in the UK and abroad never had it better especially the banking and housing which went bust due to wild deregulation. And yes at least the Daily Mirror led by Hugh Cudlip that employed the likes of John Pilger, Thames TV and ITV's World in Action had people that took whatever government into account on homelessness and the justice system which protected the rich and powerful never the most vulnerable, but if we keep thinking Labour will save us we will be in for a huge disappointment. And this is especially with the fact Corbyn still is appointing Blairites in powerful positions, grassroots group like Momentum and other Corbyn supporters aren't calling for special elections and leadership challenges to the Blairite MPS in Parliament and local government so we'll have a potential prime minister fighting again with two hands tied behind his back, and then I haven't even gotten started on foreign policy where it seems once more we'll have a Labour Party that believes in socialist reforms at home, diluted socialist reforms at home but imperialism abroad. Ken was once part of Respect, Left Unity, and I support them and the Greens which I think are the best alternative to Labour and Liberal Democrats, and its a pity we still being deluded into reform Labour in the UK or Democrats in the US and their sister parties in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and elsewhere. We need to build movements and have those in power in believe in social justice, have a written constitution that we can cite fundamental rights not these archaic documents where sometimes we have magna carta, other times some monarchy bollocks from Henry the 8th, and then an unelected House of Lords which could not be more establishment friendly. Classicism which is the foundation of the UK is still the issue and people need to bloody hell lol protest and demand real change.

Everyone kicking private landlords these days.Taking tax relief off mortgages, and tax concessions, allowances, and more red tape means 1/4 million landlord properties sold up. This pushed rents up. Government help to landlords like in America where the tax is minimal plus more mortgage interest allowance would keep landlords in the market increasing supply and reducing competition for houses as more rentals on the market. You only have to talk to landlords to hear all the negative changes to their business model. The abolition of section 21 will mean more landlords will sell up. You should have the right to get your property back without the decision of a judge. Over 9 million people in the private rental sector. The uk needs to keep them invested in rentals not selling up as they are doing now. They are being forced to accept pets now which will also deplete housing stock to rent. I hear this all the time from Tenants
"The Landlords selling up I need to find another rental" Personally I don't blame them it is not as profitable as it was. Some stock pay 7 1/2 % dividend with no work maintenance or repair bills or risks of rent default or your property getting wrecked.. I know which I would buy if I had spare money. I know of many landlords who do a decent job and don't hike rents for years. Some are terrible but I believe these are a small percentage of Landlords . Most rent decent houses . Just brows the available stock on right move. They are decent rental properties.
