Metallic and Glitter Handmade Watercolour First Impressions

- This week I'm trying out some handmade watercolours for the first time. I was sent these to try but this is not a sponsored video and all the opinions are my genuine first impressions of swatching and painting with them. The watercolours are a range of metallic, duochrome and glitter series from MAB watercolours.

In addition to the watercolurs I used the following:
Brushes:
I used the Princeton Neptune Brush pointed round brushes. I have size 10, 6 and 4.

Paper:
Arches Cold Pressed 300gsm Watercolour Paper offcuts were used for the baubles. The black paper was the top sheet from one of the Arches blocks!

Love that you not only swatched them out but painted with them too. I received dot card of the mirror series and quite enjoying them as I paint my Christmas cards. Quite clever

As you began to swatch the paints, I was calling out to you ….”Use black paper, Lou !!” 🤣🤣🤭🤭😂😂
So funny……and then when you pulled out the black paper I thought, “Phew” 🤩🤗, as just knew they were going to show up great on that dark background.
I do realise tho’ that you wanted to test them out to just to see what they would be like on the white…..but I just had a feeling we needed to go straight to black ! 💕💕

Interesting metallics ..do seem to show up better on black paper…all would make a nice accents..
