    I haven't read the books either but I'm getting strong "villain arc" feels from Paul Atreides and IM LOVING IT.

    I believe it’s Stellan Skarsgard but there’s like 3 or 4 of them 😂

      Funny you should mention it bc the first photo I saw of Feyd I actually thought it was Bill Skarsgård (Stellan’s youngest son- who played the IT clown) before I knew it was Austin Butler I was so pumped I cuz I thought we were gonna be getting TWO Skarsgards for the price of one... but alas I’m still excited since I’ve heard Austin gives one of the best performances of the movie, so there’s that lol

      Now that you mention it Bill would have been an interesting choice for Austin Butlers character

    Great job reviewing and kudos on the camera and sound quality. It is very interesting seeing and hearing perspectives from folks that are new to Frank Herbert’s Dune universe.
    One thing I would suggest as the long wait for Dune 3 (Dune Messiah) rolls around is that if you really want to prepare yourself for the next chapter is to rewatch both movies and focus on these main themes that are very present if you care to pay attention;
    1. Beware charismatic leaders! Do not give away your critical faculties and always be willing to question their decisions because their goals may not have your best interests in mind.
    2. All Governments always have this inexorable problem
    , that they attract the corruptible.
    3. When religion and politics ride together and are used to gain power, there follows the whirlwind!
    Sci-fi Channel adapted Dune Messiah and Children of Dune into a mini-series several years ago, and it is actually very, very good. If you care to be spoiled, so to speak, watch the first two hour episode “Messiah.” It covers what the next movie will be about.

      So, the week after I watched part 2, I read book 1 in a week. I loved it and am going to keep reading. With that said, I think Denis made a great adaptation, as the stuff he cut from his films, I totally understand and feel it makes a better fit for this format. I def am looking forward to where the story goes.

      I actually have a suspicion that it wasn’t delayed because of the actor/writer strikes but because Denis has too much respect for Christopher Nolan and postponed it for next year’s awards season because he secretly knew that Dune part 2 would blow Oppenheimer away (pun intended) and he’s humble and kind enough to wait instead of pitting them against each other though I gotta admit it would’ve been awesome to see the two titans clash, like Paul vs. Feyd (but Oscars edition) Anyway that’s just a theory, a film theory (Now let that rumor flor like spice!)

      Hmm perhaps we already talk to much for 2 hour movies can’t imagine how long we’d talk about a 8 hour show
